Brett was an excellent cooking instructor. He’s smart and funny. We had fun preparing and tasting a nice variety of foods. We made potato pancakes, dumplings, beef (with wine, onion and mushrooms), and cream roll (pastry with merengue). We also tasted sausages, cheeses, jam and bread. We everything was fun, easy and tasty. My favorite was the cream rolls. We chatted about culture, food and history.

I was looking for an authentic experience in Prague that did not feel touristy and this fit the bill. Bret was awesome and so were mu classmates. We made delicious food and it was amazing how simple everything seemed. I will definitely enjoy making these traditional Czech dishes when I return home to Kansas City later this month.

Come prepared to eat and enjoy. The menu choices were lovely and easy to prepare. Very accommodating in regards to food allergies or needs. The location was a bit tricky to find. The doorbell is on the right side of a locked alleyway car door. I ended up calling and they sent someone to meet me.

Lots of fun and informative about area history and culture. Dinner was delicious and the chef made us all very comfortable and able to relax and have a good time.

Run, Don’t Walk to this Experience!!!

Of all of the things we did in Prague, this was the best experience! Brett was an excellent chef. Our group was small, just one other couple. We went into the basement and spent the entire afternoon drinking wine, doing shots of moonshine, and making delicious Czech food. There were two vegetarians in the group and Brett made to accommodate to our needs. We had two 18-year olds and they had the best time! Make sure you book in advance as they fill up!

    Fun, tasty and informative.

Bret was incredible and so knowledgeable about food and the history of the Czech Republic.. the setting is perfect and we loved every minute that we all shared together .. the food was excellent and I would highly recommend !!

Great experience with Bert. Definitely recommend.

    Darla_H, Apr 2025
Bert was fantastic. This easy going class is informative fun and tasty. A great way to get a little feeling of Czech culture and taste food prepared from handed down recipes. Bert is kind and easy to work with no matter your skill level. In addition to cooking you’ll have the opportunity to visit a speciality shop and get a few tips on what to look for while choosing ingredients for your meal. Delightful conversation good wine and other surprises makes this tour too good to pass up. In an area away from the old town tourist area but easy to get to by metro taxi or Uber.

We had such a good time Cooking with Brett. We made, duck, cabbage salad and dumplings with creme filled pastries. It was all delicious. Great experience.

Thank you for a truly memorable occasion!

Bret was a fantastic host and teacher. The whole experience was so enjoyable for myself and my aunty, who both do a lot of cooking anyway. Bret was accommodating with menu, we tried delicious snacks and wine and learnt a lot from him. We were very grateful he still ran the course for just the two of us and we would both highly recommended visitors to the area to give it a try.

A fun, delicious, informative and an enjoyable time

Had such a great time cooking with Bret! You can tell how proud he was to pass along generations of Czech and Moravian recipes and delicacies. He’s also quite funny and engaging which adds to the overall experience. It was just the two of us in the cooking class, which certainly leaned it self to it being a more personal experience. Can’t recommend it enough! So fun and delicious!

    Super awesome Evening! Book now!

If you're looking for a cooking class, look no further and book! You will have an amazing time! Bret was a wonderful teacher, explaining the menu, recipes, and how the recipes were handed down through the generations. When I found out that we were going to cook rabbit, I was concerned, since it was not my first choice. But I was so wrong! The rabbit dish was excellent! The flavors melded together perfectly! The vegetables were delicious, and the meat so very tender. Bret laughed so hard when I told him that our daughter's ring bearer at her wedding was a rabbit! The communication was excellent. They responded quickly with emails and texts. They were right on time. It was great value for the money, and a wonderful memory forever!

    A absolute must do!

Highly recommend this experience! Great chef, amazing recipes, so much fun even for non-cooks! A must

    Delightful experience

After several days of walking through Prague seeing all the beautiful architecture snd history, it was an absolute treat to cook with Brett, talk about food, culture, wines and family feasts. Hands on cooking in a comfortable setting, with other like-minded people. I learned a lot about Czech food and had a delicious dinner with new friends!

    Yummy yummy yummy!

    Dearl_A, Jul 2024
I was the only one in the class. So it felt very individualized and he took his time to explain as much as he could to me. I felt that I was really able to learn more and be able to be as Involved as I could possibly be because of the size of the class. So he did a great job!

    Excellent cooking class

Meeting Brett for a cooking class to learn how to prepare a traditional Czech meal was an exceptional experience. Brett's skills as a host and teacher truly shone through as he guided us through the process with ease and enthusiasm. Not only did the meal turn out to be fantastic, but Brett's insightful stories about the history behind the dishes added a special touch to the entire event, making it so much more than just a cooking class. I wholeheartedly recommend Brett for anyone looking to delve into Czech cuisine and culture in a fun and educational way. Having friends join us only enhanced the experience, and the four of us had an amazing time exploring new flavors and creating lasting memories together. Thank you, Brett, for a truly unforgettable culinary adventure!

    Delicious and fun

We booked last minute and it was a wonderful surprise to end up with a private class. Bret was a wonderful instructor. We loved the personal attention, stories, and delicious offerings. The recipes were easy to follow and we can't wait to try and make them once we are back home.

    Don’t Miss This Class

I could start with the easy but delicious recipes, but the best part was Bret and his stories! The time flew by and we ate and laughed and had some wine. I would take this class again and again!

Highlight of our time in Prague

    Linda_K, Oct 2023
My family and I (parents, brother, husband) wanted to take a cooking class when we visited Prague. We did some research and really liked the reviews and menu of this specific class. I truthfully could not be happier with the results and my family agrees it was the highlight of our trip. The cooking class was held in a cute underground cave (what it felt like at least) and our cooking instructor was Bret. Although he claims he’s not the best at speaking English, I think he communicated wonderfully and did a great job understanding our questions and commentary. His accent was darling and authentic, and he was a joy to get to know on a personal level. He has lots of great stories which kept us occupied during the few slower portions of the class. We had a group of 5 and he kept us all busy, in a great way, throughout the class. He gave equal opportunity for hands on tasks, and during our waiting “breaks” (when food was cooking) he made a delicious snack platter to enjoy. The recipes were all relatively simple and easy which makes me think I can replicate them at home. Everything was very delicious! And we learned some fun techniques and more about the Czech cuisine. Our only regret was not taking a photo with him! My family highly recommends this class, we’re sure anyone would enjoy it!

    Great Fun

Wonderful! We were looking for something different to do in Prague and this seemed to fit the bill. What fun. Bret, the host, was well organized and interacted with humor and care. Don't worry about your previous cooking experience, Bret will teach you how to flip a potato pancake in the skillet like a pro! Come hungry. So happy we did this!

    Awesome night!

    Suzette_W, Sep 2023
Very cool kitchen set up. Had a great evening cooking and learning with Brett. He kept everyone involved with various tasks throughout the class. The food and wine were delicious. This was a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend!

    Great, tasty family activity

    CARLEEN_W, Jul 2023
Really fun afternoon with Brett preparing traditional Czech dishes. He shared some of the country’s history with us while teaching us about their culture and cuisine. He tolerated our less than perfect cooking skills and the results was a lovely, tasty family meal. Highly recommend!

A wonderful Czech dinner at a new friend!s house

    jontymaltz, May 2023
Bret is a marvelous host & guided us through our tasks to produce a wonderful Czech dinner. It was as though we were having dinner at a good friend’s house.

    Fun food night

    Nancy_B, May 2023
A most fun and yummy night. Our host/ educator was quite a funny dude-there were 8 in our group and class was held in an underground room built 400 years ago. Totally modern and very comfortable and professional. He applied us with alcohol and pour the wines freely. Halfway through all the cooking duties, he laid out a mini charcuterie experience, and everything was divine. I especially liked the lard slathered on the dark bread with paprika sausage on top. And. Our group overstayed the time frame by about 45 minutes, but it didn’t seem to bother him. Everything we made was very detailed and yummy. I would definitely do it again if there was a different menu, you can’t eat goulash every night.

If you like to cook, this is a must do.

    Matthew_M, Jan 2023
I have to admit, I was not thrilled about walking 2.7km from my hotel to meet our host. It was a good day for a walk, so I did it. I am so very happy I did not pass on this event. My wife and I met with Bret. Along with several other couples, (new friends), we went to Bret and Aida's place a short distance from our meeting point. The property was really nice. The kitchen and dining area was immaculate. We spent the next several hours making our dinner and desert. We had wine and got to know each other. We have done cooking classes in other countries and had great times, but this class was my favorite by far. I will be your biggest fan and recommend anyone I hear is visiting Prague, to attend one of your events. Thank you Bret and Aida for doing this for others to learn and enjoy.

Dinner and Wine with Bret, perfect!

    KarenH_S, Oct 2022
Everyone was included in the preparation of our Czech dinner from soup to dessert. Bret kept us on track to be sure we were able to eat what we prepared from 2:30-7. We had many laughs as we chopped, julienned and sipped wine. It was an enjoyable delicious evening! Thank you Bret!
