The Leaning Tower is absolutely amazing to see up close. A must see.
However, I did not get to go into the cathedral.
I went at my allocated time slot and the cathedral was closed & was told to come back in an hour.
When I got back, the cathedral was still closed and waited around for 45mins and was told they weren’t sure when they will be opening. Unfortunately I had to leave as I couldn’t wait around any longer.
I reached out to the company I bought the ticket from & asked if I could get a partial refund. They said they will get back to me but they didn’t. I followed up with the company & still have not heard from them.

Pisa reminded me to find beauty in the unexpected — even when things ‘lean,’ they can still stand tall. I came to Pisa for the tower but left with memories of warmth, laughter, and the simple joy of discovery. Visiting Pisa filled me with gratitude — for travel, for history, and for the wonder of God’s creation. Pisa is a treasure! The Piazza dei Miracoli is breathtaking, and seeing the Leaning Tower up close was surreal.

Perfect way to see the tower and cathedral. Important to note that the tower has specific times for the tour but the cathedral can be done at any time. Worth the climb. Great views.

The voucher informed us that the tickets would be sent within 24 hours before the booking. I contacted the tour operator numerous times within that 24 hours and requested help from Viator also. Eventually Viator sent tickets through one hour before but they weren't accepted so we had to buy more tickets on site. Now to try to get a refund. Viator is usually great but not on this occasion.

Great experience to walk up the tower. It wasn’t too difficult, even though it was very hot. There are plenty of ventilation spots on the way where you can stop and take a breath. The view from the top is incredible. It was very organised and everyone went in on time.

We liked this experience because it was a time where we didn't have a tour guide, just tickets to explore the locations at our own pace. We signed up for the 3pm Pisa climbing and they gave us 3:15pm. It was a great day trip! The only thing we would have liked to see is access to more buildings.
Side note- no bags are allowed when climbing the Pisa. They have free lockers to rent but pack lightly when going there!

Dreadful service. Having booked a time range, the ticket arrived with a time we were unable to make (due to train times). Their attempts to remedy the situation were invisible, purely confirming the time of entry and then ignoring my subsequent messages. Avoid using Roots in Rome. Truly appalling service.

This was a self guided tour supposed to be 10-12, then climb the tower. Tour provider at last minute changed climb to 2:30, too late for us because we made plans based on a Noon climb. Lesson is, do not plan on climbing the tower based on your tour time.

If you are on a schedule avoid this company. They weren’t helpful and got our times wrong. We booked a 10:30 time as we were driving from 2 hours away to get inside the tower. Half way to Pisa we got a message with our ticket that our time was moved up to 9:30. There was no way for us to get there on time. When we arrived at 10:30 they would not let us in and they were sold out for the day to get later tickets. We did not get to go in the tower and this purchase was a waste. In addition the people were not very nice or helpful. When I called they didn’t try to help us in any way. They didn’t try to call anyone to reissue tickets they just said, there’s nothing they can do. There are lots of choices of tour operators, avoid this one!!

Ticket was mailed to me, had to ask directions where to take the tickets, we arrived at entrance at 3:00, was informed that we had to go to another building to deposit our belongings, got to the building, scanned tickets, all the lockers were occupied. They cancelled my climb 1hr before I was due to enter the tower! I called the number for ‘roots in Rome’ who i found through Viator, and they were less than helpful. Knew my ticket had been cancelled and just said, sorry it’s frustrating, youll have to queue up (in the henious standby queue) nobody would accept responsibility for who had cancelled the tickets. The company were blaming the Pisa administration. Pisa administration were blaming Viator. Nobody wanted to help. And then the exact reason why we had pre-booked tickets was that when we got through to the agent on the desk to book the next available slot, it was four hours away by which point we already had to be on a train to Florence, so didn’t get to do it after all that! .

Extremely disappointing. I had a 5pm ticket to the Pisa tower. 2 adults 2 kids ! I have paid almost 105£ for these tickets. Around mid day (not 24hrs as they say) I get an email from these activity provider that due to over crowding my time has changed to 6:45pm ! And he issues me ticket for 2 adults. And since that time I have been constantly trying to explain I booked 4 tickets, so reissue me with the remaining tickets. I hear nothing back. Then I called up Viator. Spoke to the service agent who understood my frustration (that’s all he kept saying) and the solution that was offered to me was “he has reported the issue and I might get an email update !” No timescales nothing. Not sure what process is in place here ! It spoiled our day completely. These guys can’t be trusted especially when you are travelling with kids. When I got there, I found out there was no over crowding, the officials over there manage the crowds very well (there are limits on tickets they issue for specific times). And a cost of 1 ticket is 20€ ! I paid around 105£ when I booked 4 tickets. So don’t get fooled like me to think it’s convenient and you are getting good value. I paid more and dieven enjoy it. Had to book 4 separate tickets for the entire family for a later time 7:15 as that was only available. So well done to Viator. I have learnt a lesson. Never again.

Viator was very helpful in the chat feature…. Our tour operator notified us 2.5 hours before our tour that the Pisa personnel moved our ticket time by 3 hours later because of crowd control. As a result, We were unable to do the tour as we had a train to catch. We booked the time that worked for our schedule. If Pisa cannot honor those times, then why sell tickets weeks in advance. Highly disappointing. Viator assured partial refund.

You must use the QR Code (not the barcode) to gain access to your destination (The Tower, The Cathedral, The Baptistry, Bag Check and Storage, etc…)

I booked 2tickets for 1:30 pm entry but when I got there and showed the attendant my tickets I was informed that they were for 2:30pm ! My order showed 1:30 and the actual ticket was for 2:30!! I had to wait an extra hour to enter the tower of Pisa which did not make me happy. The attraction is well worth seeing and getting your tickets early is also a good idea

Only think we weren’t told ( although someone in . The Que told us) , you can’t take your bags in to the tower, so make sure you use the free lockers first.
