The meeting location is on the corner of the piazza. Don’t look for #8. There is a statue and the drivers will pick you up there.
Our driver was amazing and ran the show! Everything was explained in detail and we learned so much and laughed along the way.
The caves and mountains and stops we made along the way were amazing. This was a lifetime trip for one of our party as her grandfather worked in the mines. Exceeded her expectations.

This was amazing! Being on the mountain, standing next to the cut marble walls, and then going into the quarries is a day none of us will forget. Our guide Luca knew so much and it was great to learn more about Carrara, as well. So glad we picked this tour!

This was a great tour. So very interesting to see both the quarries and the caves. A stop to taste lardo and buy a trinket. 4 wheel drive cars and tour guides were knowledgeable and excellent drivers.

I booked a 3 pm tour several weeks in advance. We arrived pretty early at the meetup spot. 2:24 pm. I speak with someone and he says they’re about to leave on the 2:30 tour. So, we go to find a restroom (which there is nothing around, mind you). We come back around 2:47 and there is no one there. I check my what’s app and there is a message from 2:38 “where are you? The tour is starting in 1 minute”. What? So I text back and they’re telling me the only thing they can do is refund me. I say that I made a trip especially to see this place. Which is true, we passed by Carrara last year and said we’ll come next year. And we had a special day trip with train planned to go. I would be losing out on a lot of time and money. So, they were very nice in getting someone to pick us up around 3 and drove us to meet the rest of the tour. We got there in 15 minutes. However, I felt really bad for the people already on the tour waiting for us. That’s not very kind to them. What if they had other plans? How did they not know earlier that the tour wasn’t going to happen at 3? What if I wasn’t there earlier? Anyway, so then during the tour, it was awe inspiring and everyone was very nice. However, the English was limited to the basic explanations and the other two languages were seemingly getting a lot more detail than we were. Overall, they salvaged the trip decently, but still felt like we missed out on parts of it at the beginning and felt like the rest of the guests were upset with us when it wasn’t our fault.

The marble mines themselves were incredible—seeing them up close and getting to go inside one was such a unique experience. The tour was overall really cool and definitely worth doing. My only feedback is that our group was split into three cars, and while two of the guides spoke English, our driver only spoke Italian. We completely understand that we’re in Italy, but the tour listing did mention English-speaking guides, so it was a bit disappointing to miss out on a lot of the information being shared. Thankfully, another guest in our car spoke both languages and helped translate here and there, which we really appreciated—but of course, that wasn’t their responsibility. We would have loved to be in a car where we could understand more of what was being explained during the ride.

This is a mind-blowing marble experience! Yes, the beat-up 4x4 means four people sit in the way back and three in the middle seat so the guide can speak from the front seat and the driver can focus on the roads, but it's fantastic — a fascinating adventure. The driver was so kind and accommodating, and the guide, Serena, gave us tons of information about the marble, the extraction, the mines, the people, the area. The first stop is a marble souvenir shop, which seemed at first a tad self-serving/sketchy, but turned out to be a nice pit stop. The second stop was to sample the lard, which was delicious and we began to see incredible hillsides covered with marble. The third stop was even higher up the mountain - amazing views! - and the last stop was inside the cool mine. Every bit of it was fun, interesting and exciting. My only problem throughout it all was communicating via the app with the tour operator. We had asked to be picked up at the train station and the operator never answered my question until I got a call about 15 minutes before the tour started with the driver saying he was at the train station to pick us up. So they were willing; the communication was just off. Note: It's not easy to get a taxi, so plan accordingly. But all went well and we loved this tour. Highly recommend it!

We took the train to Carrara from Pisa after visiting the Leaning Tower in the AM. When we got off the train from Pisa, we didn’t see any other way to get to the meeting point except to walk there. Our GPS took us through an industrial area without sidewalks. My only recommendation is that the Meeting point be closer to the train station. We hiked to the meeting point through an industrial area that was very quiet. We were a bit concerned but we made it. Manuela, our driver, and Serena, our guide were AMAZING. We ended up having a private tour and my interior designer dreams came true. They took us up the mountain with a few stops along the way. We stopped at a mountain restaurant where we taste tested a meat called Lardo, that originates on the mountain. It was delish and reminded me of pancetta. We went into the mountain, towards the end of the day, and it was a bit quiet and peaceful. This was such an amazing experience, I can’t talk about it enough. Highly recommend this tour.

This particular tour was conducted by two very professional and knowledgeable people. The driver was amazing. He so easily navigated extremely narrow serpentine and brought us into the very heart of the marble mountain. The whole trip had a flavor of something surreal and fantastic. One of the strongest impressions from this tour was the amazing bravery and talents of the people committed to the marble excavation.

Exhilarating! We were greeted on time in an easy meet up spot. The vehicle was awesome and the driver was a pro. Felt very safe on those sheer drop offs. Our narrator was very fun and spoke English very well. It was a lot easier to get to than we anticipated. A great experience

The whole tour was quite amazing - he dizzying heights, the marvellous view, inside the marble quarry, and marble everywhere. While modernized, one could picture how marble was quarried centuries ago. To see the raw product that has been turned into stunning buildings and one of a kind statutes was very special. Not for those with a fear of heights. It felt a bit rushed at times, but there was so much to cover. Due to a mix up, we ended up with an Italian group and got a shorter version in English, which meant many of my questions did not get answered. Recommend this highly for anyone interested in behind the scenes of history.

The Carrara marble mountain was amazing. The ride in the 4x4 was comfortable and the guide was a great driver. Stopped at a couple of shops with toilets available. The guide was nice but could have spoke a little louder and included the whole group when talking. The cave was interesting too. We rode a train from monterossa and the walk to the tour meeting point was short and easy.

We enjoyed our guide so much - and the jeep ride was not uncomfortable one bit. Seeing the quarries where marble is mined is wonderful but learning about a mountain range completely made of marble was amazing! One tip - if you can tour when the mine is in operation that's even more interesting.

It was a miserable experience for us two six-footers who ended up in the third row of the 4x4, over the rear axle. Our heads were literally on the ceiling, while the second row trio had at least a foot of headroom. Perhaps the tour guide should be more interested in making sure everyone has a good experience by assigning seats appropriately. So not only was it uncomfortable but there was no chance of a view from our perch other than looking down at the asphalt road. Thank goodness for the stops! However the quarry was amazing and I’m sure the guide’s commentary was good but we couldn’t hear it from the back. Would I do it again? Yes! But I’d be the first one to get into the car.
