Very cool tour and experience. To understand the true mass of these quarry's is to see them up close. Tour shows you atop the mountain and INSIDE the mountain. Highly recommend it. Our tour guide was great.
It was a very unique experience overall. The tour and staff were very organized and knowledgeable. I don't think you will ever have the opportunity to experience anything like it again! AMAZING--with an entirely new perspective and appreciation for marble!!

Our guide, Luca, was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable and spent a lot of time teaching us about the marble and its extraction. It was fascinating and really changed our perspective of everything else we saw while touring Italy. From churches to altars to statues - we saw everything with a different lens and more knowledge than had we not taken this tour. We highly recommend this little side trip to Carrara.

The tour was easy to book online and all of the instructions for finding the tour meeting place were clear and easy to follow.
The locations of the tour are fascinating and very worthwhile. Our tour guide and driver, Luca, drove us into the mountains, where we saw some amazing views and had plenty of opportunities to take photos. We also visited a beautiful marble souvenir shop and were able to taste a local speciality - lardo - from a nearby town, Colonnata. We were also able to go inside a quarry, which was the highlight of the experience for me.
Our driver and guide Luca was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. He made every effort to feel everyone on the tour included and comfortable, speaking both in Italian and English to ensure all the tour attendees (some Italian-speaking and some English-speaking) were able to enjoy the tour.
Unfortunately I left my mobile phone in the Land Rover where the tour was taking place after it ended. Luca was incredibly helpful and communicative when I contacted him to mention I had left my phone in the Land Rover. Thanks to Luca’s amazing help, as he arranged for my phone to be couriered from Italy to the U.K., where I live, I am now reunited with it. I can’t thank him enough for his quick thinking, kindness and help with sending my phone back.

Luca was great. It rained and poured on us, but that didn’t stop Luca from showing us how marble is cut from the mountain. It was amazing to see the marble mountain. This tour was definitely worth it.
