Francois was a great and knowledgeable guide. It turned out to be a private tour for my wife and me which was terrific. He asked us if we had likes, dislikes, and dietary restrictions/allergies a week before the tour. He showed us places we would not have found on our own, like wine and cheese in a cave-like space. And he took advantage of the Rugby World Cup by taking us to the areas with sports bars, but still had superb food. This was more than just tasting. We had a lot of food. A great experience and we’re glad we did it early in our trip.

I purchased this tour because I wanted a nice French dinner. The tour is called "The Best Paris Food Tour with a French expert" however all we did was get 2 glasses of wine in wine bars. I paid $130.00 for this tour, and the description clearly states that it includes dinner. But we did not go to any restaurant. I really wanted an excellent French meal in Paris and was so disappointed.

1. You don't need a guide to enjoy dinner.
2. It was not dinner, but a tour.
3. You made a last-minute booking on a Sunday evening for one person. You already had some wine and were a bit drunk.
4. We did our best to ensure you had a good time.
5. You visited all the best places. We went to a restaurant and a famous wine bar. You enjoyed excellent pâté with the finest bread, as well as two wine tastings, salami, organic olives and cake.
6. Next time, please either eat dinner alone or stay home.
For reference, your name is: Stephanie Cabanas, CEO of Cabanas Law Firm, 18503 Pines Boulevard, Suite 301, Pembroke Pines, FL 33029. We do not recommend this client.
Regards,
Francoise is super knowledgeable about food - what’s local and good and where the ingredients are from and what makes them great. You’ll do a short circuit around the St germain market and I definitely would have passed by a lot of these places if I was traveling alone. I enjoyed this experience!
Great information, well selected and perfectly prepared food, outstanding food knowledge by Franqois

Thank you Kelly! François
This food tour was different than other food tours we’ve taken. It was more of a gourmet food & wine tasting. We only went to two places and sat down to eat at both locations. We had foie gras and escargot from one location along with macrons and chocolate that came from elsewhere. We had steak at the other location. Both tastings included wine or non-alcoholic option. François was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot. I think the tour could be described a little better, so people know not to expect the multi-stop little tastings that most people think of as a food tour. The tour seemed a little pricey for what we got.

Dear Liz,
Thank you for your nice comment. It is true that a Saturday evening cannot be lunch time. Saint-Germain is one of the most expensive places of Paris, this is why. Happy that you enjoyed.
Best,
Francois
The food and wine were absolutely excellent. The cheese was phenomenal and the foi gras was to die for. We enjoyed the stories by Francois and the lively conversation. Very fun evening!
Francois was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and an absolute delight. We learned a lot about the origin and history of French food and wine. The owner of Le Paris Paris cafe provided us with a wonderful lunch. My only regret is that a dessert wasn't added to the menu experience.
Francoise gave my fiance and I an intimate tour in St. Germaine. He took us around where the locals would go so off the beaten path of tourists. He treated us to amazing eclaires and chocolate mouse, and taught us about the history of the area. Plus, we got to experience French cuisine essentials at a popular lunch spot and another restaurant equivalent to a Michelan Star restaurant without the 3 hour dedication. We would recommend this food tour to anyone looking for this type of experience!

We’ve done lots of food tours and they usually involve several groups of friends or couples so we were surprised that it was just us on the tour. Part of the fun of the tours is meeting other people and talking about the food you are trying. The food was pleasant enough but we expected 4 or 5 stops to sample ‘bites’. What we got was 3 food stops, the second of which was at a cake shop that was closing and the third was a full meal which we had not expected and could not finish. Very disappointing.

It is difficult to block a good restaurant the evening only for a crêpe or cheese plate. The morning option was better for you. But you never replied to our questionnaire. I hope you could finish your beef in your hotel room. Normally we do not make doggy bags.
Francois was our guide and he was amazing! We had great food and wine and learned so much about the French culture

Merci Jennifer!!
Francois was such a knowledgeable, warm, and friendly guide. I was fortunate to be the only person on the tour and it soon felt like being shown around by a dear friend. His food choices were outstanding. Finished the tour full and satisfied. Then he made sure I got on the correct bus. One of my best Paris experiences. Highly recommend.

Merci beaucoup
Francois guided us on a Sunday and manoeuvred us around the later opening hours. He was also accommodating and flexible with the tour time. His selection of foods and places were all great. My teenagers loved the sweets and pastries. We also learned about olive oil and had a fab lunch with cheesy mash, followed by the best choc mousse. We went back the next day!

Thank you so much!
Francois was a wonderful guide. He was informative and very knowledgeable about all kinds of things. All the places we went and the foods we tasted were incredible. This was a wonderful experience!
What a wonderful experience! Francois was the BEST host and we had a wonderful time! The cheeses, the wine, the escargot and fois gras, and macarons were all perfection!
Francois was so sweet and kind and we absolutely loved him! Highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide, Francois, was quite knowledgeable and shared great food history, stories and food with us.
I booked this very last minute, and thought from the price that it would be something special. Unfortunately, I think the price was because I was the only one on the tour! The guide was nice and took me to some great places with yummy food, but it was very awkward with just the two of us, and he wasn't eating any of the food. In the end, I couldn't eat half of what was put in front of me, which was a real waste as it was all very tasty. Perhaps the price goes down the more people you book in, but I would not recommend this tour unless you have a bunch of people and you're not paying as much as I did!

We agree that you did your reservation at midnight for the following morning.
It was a bit too much for one person.
The best beef stew of Paris (bœuf bourguignon), a full plate of cheese from the Bistrot d'Henri facing Castel with Gérard Mulot baguette tradition, Camembert Réo noir, Saint-Nectaire and Comté 18 months, a glass of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, the best crepe of Paris with the best artisanal cider and two more stops: The Wine cellar of Saint-Germain-des-Prés covered market with the Saint-Marcellin cheese from the Lyon most famous cheese shop la Mère Richard and a glass of white wine from Valençay, Loire valley, the trendy place of the inventor of the 'Bistronomy' in Paris Yves Camdeborde, former Crillon and Ritz chef with a glass of red wine and scallop in Brittany butter sauce for a special pairing plus the original macaron from Persia made from rice with saffron as a final gift to finish our walk next to Notre-Dame.
We do the best, we give the best even if it seems too much.
We wanted you to have the excellence, not something average even for a last-minute booking during the night.
This is the way we treat friends, not clients. We did.
Best,
Francois Lavergne
Francois provided an excellent adventure into the French cuisine and culture. He was very down to earth, personable and the “real deal”. His passion for the food and culture really showed. We had a very stressful travel day and were late to our tour but he worked with us and still provided us with an excellent experience. We wanted to see what the local food and people were like and he showed us this and more. I recommend this tour with Francois wholeheartedly and without reservations.
