Philippe was wonderful. We were a small group. Just our group of 3. He took us around 3 of the districts and explained the history behind the flea market and each district. He made note of our interests and showed us booths that catered to them. We learned a lot about the city as well. He gave us some recommendations of places to check out. He's very obviously popular with the vendors. Everywhere we stopped people were happy to see him and chat. Overall we had a lovely time and felt more comfortable wandering the market by ourselves after the tour.

Definitely worth it as the market is massive and Mary is very experienced in navigating to what you want to see. Don’t wander endlessly.
MChristine_T, Sep 2025
Easy to get to arrival point.
Flo, our guide was well informed and personable.
We each had time to wander and discover!!
Cynthia_S, Sep 2025
Easy to find my guide. He was so nice to be around with all kinds of great information. When our time was done, he was giving a nice map to leave with me and explained how it all worked.
Mary_M, May 2025
This was a great orientation of the flea market to give you the confidence to go back and shop on your own!
W_L, May 2025
The flea market area is fun. Having Flo as our guide made it more fun. She was personable, knowledgeable and helpful!

I’ve been to the markets several times, but a much better understanding of the markets! The guide was very informative and it was a great overview.
Katrine_S, Nov 2024
Please structure the tour differently. We followed the guide with no opportunity to shop. We walked the entire time and the guide suggested if we saw anything we liked to take a picture and go back to it. There is little opportunity to do that. A better way would be to stop at interesting booths, look around, ask questions, and then have the guide give feedback and being allowed to purchase the item. We learned nothing and wasted a lot of time and energy.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Dear Katrine,
I am so sorry that you didn't enjoy your tour with us. We aim to please always, and we see it as our responsibility to please each and every guest.
You are right that this is not a shopping tour. Imagine a group of 6. It is not possible to keep 5 guests waiting every time 1 guest stops to buy something.
The group tour that you joined is for a mix of people - travelers looking for insights into French culture through objects, and shoppers who want to navigate the Paris flea market before they start to shop there.
If you want to shop shop shop, with a guide at your side to bargain for you, then perhaps our PRIVATE tour is more appropriate. Look for tour 5746P44 on Viator.
Again, I regret that you left our tour disappointed. I hope that I was able to better explain what happens on our group tour, and what's so great about joining us.
Thank you and happy travels.

Philippe was an amazing guide. We were able to see so much of the market without the hassle of getting lost. We enjoyed every minute!
Deborah_W, Sep 2024
Philip was a wonderful and entertaining guide! He was a very good teacher, and very helpful. Loved every minute!
Lynn_R, Sep 2024
We really enjoyed having a guide with us for our tour through the flea market. He was able to give us a clear idea which vendors to go to. We bought some beautiful vintage prints on his recommendation. (I think his name was Anthony, but I am doing this review 2 weeks after and I'm not positive that is correct.) We wish we had more time as the flea market is massive! Would highly recommend!!
Steven_B, Sep 2024
The tour was an excellent one-with an extremely knowledgeable tour guide who was extremely comprehensive. We were totally informed!
ForbesFields_H, Sep 2024
Flo is a wonderful guide through the various Flea Markets. She helped our group negotiate purchases and was patient as we moved slowly through the market. I highly recommend a guide for a first time visit.
Marissa_A, Sep 2024
This was a great tour! The guide was lovely and she was very knowledgeable about the markets. She also provided our tour group with advice about which areas of the market to visit for specific items and recommendations for nearby restaurants for lunch. It was my first time visiting the markets in Paris, so having a guide was very helpful.
Response from Host, Sep 2024
hi
thank you for the review, it helps the readers out I think.
that antiques market of ours is huge, isn't it? nice to have a guide the first time around...
all the best, happy travels
Sara_O, Sep 2024
This was a great experience and well worth the money. Our guide was prompt, friendly, and very knowledgeable. Even if you’re a pro at thrifting/antiquing/haggling in your home country, this is a completely different experience because of the size alone. She gave us a great lay of the land and explained everything. She spent time with us showing us things and providing direction and helped us with a few transactions and then left us to our own at which point we were all comfortable and headed in the right direction instead of wandering and looking for a needle in the haystack.
Response from Host, Sep 2024
bonjour
yes, that market of ours is a bit of a haystack, isn't it? glad we could help you find that needle you were looking for.
thank you for the review, helpful to the reader.
best regards, happy travels,

Absolutely a lovely time. Our guide was wonderful. As a French history teacher before becoming a guide, she brought a unique perspective and depth of knowledge. She knew the market and merchants very well. If you do not speak the language or would appreciate some guidance and history, this tour is a must for your first time at the market.
kylie, Jun 2024
Flo (our guide) was amazing! A great tour to get you started at the flea markets, we ended up staying the whole day once our tour finished, thanks so much Flo 😊
Heidi_J, Jun 2024
Phillipe was an excellent tour guide. He was informative, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get a feel for the flea market then stay after to explore on your own. I stayed for 2 hours after the tour but would not have known where to begin without Phillipe’s information during the tour.
Jacklin_H, Apr 2024
Had a wonder experience the tour guide was very passionate in his knowledge of all the markets and history of the markets. Highly recommend this tour you will learn a lot about vintage shopping and some great food recommendations!
Maria_C, Mar 2024
This could take a full day to explore it all. A great time and our tour guide Flo was excellent. We loved all the little stores and all the vintage and antiques for sale.
Donna_B, Feb 2024
I feel like it was money well spent. There’s no way we could’ve found our way without his help. For the first timers!!
Anna_J, Feb 2024
The flea market is more like a town of shops. Some are in a shopping arcade, some are outside, some are partially under a roof and some are like outdoor garage sales. Quality varied from antiques to junk. We enjoyed the old, eclectic areas.
I don’t know that we needed a tour for this. We did hear some interesting history, but we would have spent our time more efficiently if we’d just started shopping when we got there as opposed to waiting until we finished the tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Bonjour.
Thank you for your review. I am delighed that you enjoyed the market and how eclectic it is.
This tour needs to find the right balance between shopping and visiting. And on most days, our guests are happy, judging by the reviews, and by the friendships that arise.
Now during your tour, apparently your guide gave you no time for shopping!? I am very sorry. It is not how it should be.
The guide is there to tell you the context, but also to take you to items you are looking for, to help you shop and haggle etc.
We will be attentive to your comments going forward. And we agree with you - this outing must be both a Paris experience and a shopping moment. At a very, very special place!
Happy Travels.

We had so much fun with Helen at Les Puces! I booked this as a group tour, as a gift for my Mom. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived and discovered that we were the only participants!
Helen was warm and friendly, with a wealth of knowledge about the flea market and Paris history and culture. She was attentive to what we were looking for, and brought us to shops that aligned with our interests. We also gained an overall understanding of the market’s layout through the general tour. She answered our questions (can I touch items in the stalls? Is negotiating an option?), while adding colorful commentary about the history of the markets. Helen even pointed us in the direction of an excellent restaurant for lunch after the tour.
I would definitely recommend this tour to others! The experience gave me the confidence and knowledge to visit the markets on my own the next time I’m in Paris!
ERNIE_B, Feb 2024
The Marche aux Puces can be overwhelming for the first time shopper. Tobias did a great job in explaining the market and made the experience much more enjoyable.
Judy_B, Jan 2024
The only sad part was the freezing 🥶 weather.
Such a fun place.
Would love to return.
Thank you so much.
Guide, Tobias is delightful.💙🎊
Jules_H, Oct 2023
Very nice guide, but the tour was too limited and quick. Just a taste of this enormous flea market., which is time worn.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Dear guest,
I am sorry that you enjoyed the guide, but the market not so much.
I am a little puzzled that you found that our flea market is old. That is expected, no!? It is a market for antiques and vintage items, not a bazaar for modern products.
So it is clear for future guests, our small-group tour is meant as an introduction to the market, so you can shop on your own later. It is also a guided tour, for people who do not want to shop but who want to visit this world-class Paris attraction.
Yes, our tour is 1.5 hours. And yes, it is an introduction to what is a gigantic market - the world's largest antiques market, they say. We run our tour in the morning, so you have the time to dig deeper and shop in the afternoon if you wish to.
If you prefer a more specialized tour, we also offer a private tour that is also available on Viator.
Merci. And see you soon. Exciting, world-class, antiques market!
Terri_B, Sep 2023
Chatting with our guide Tobias, as we walked past the displays… The antiques & displays were incredible…
Stephanie_H, Jul 2023
This is a very large flea market encompassing multiple city blocks with everything from $5 sneakers to priceless antiques. The guide orients you and finds the sellers that cater to your interests while providing lovely commentary. They also show you a diverse range of vendors so you can focus in.
Christine_T, Jun 2023
Our guide Helene was knowledgeable and friendly. She was helpful in steering us towards the areas that would meet our expectations. The hot weather kept us from exploring much further.
Elizabeth_A, May 2023
Tobias was excellent! He did a great job telling us about the different areas of the market . The hardest part of his job was keeping everyone together, and he was excellent.
