Itinerary

Begin your walking tour of Paris by meeting your guide (and small group of fellow travelers, if option selected) in front of the entrance to the Cité Métro station. From there, travel on foot to Notre-Dame Cathedral, where you can admire the 800-year-old Gothic structure and learn about its history.

Next, discover other highlights of the Île de la Cité, including the Conciergerie, Saint-Chapelle, and other key sights. Continue over the Pont Neuf, the city's oldest bridge, and into the Tuileries Gardens to see the expanse of carefully manicured greenery.

Next, visit the Place de la Concorde, former home of the guillotine, and listen to your guide talk about some of the city's most famous and infamous residents, such as Henri IV, Louis XIV, and Napoleon. You also have the chance to spot other Paris landmarks, such as the Louvre and the Saint Michel Fountain.

A moderate amount of walking is involved and the tour runs in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately. The tour ends at the Place de la Concorde.

Walking Il de citi, we learned of Paris’s history spanning back to the original tribes before 0BC, the attacks by the Romans, the Goths (German’s) and eventually held by the Francs (ie the France people). Stepping forward we walked the streets where Mary Antionette was executed.
