Meet your hat designer and instructor directly at a famed Paris atelier and begin by choosing the material for your hat. Select from 30 different colors of merino wool or rabbit felt, natural straw, and other traditional or contemporary options with the guidance of your instructor, then choose a wood block to mold and stretch your material into the correct shape. Opt for a fedora, trilby, boater, capeline, or other classic shape plus learn how to use water, steam, hammers, and pins to shape your hat before setting it with heat and finishing it with an array of decorations. You’ll take your hat with you at the end of the workshop as a unique souvenir.

Hat making with fabulous Fabrice was fun, fun, fun. Very interesting to learn the effort it takes to shape a hat properly. I appreciated Fabrice using translation technology so I could understand everything despite me not fluent in French. Looking sharp in my new blue hat. Highly recommend. Store clerk Mary super helpful getting me a taxi ride after when outdoor temperature soared to 90 F.

This was the 2nd time we attended this workshop. We first attended 5 years ago and my son had grown out of the hat he made and loved it so much we had to go back! It was a great day. Very interactive and interesting. And we have some great hats that we wear! We love that you get to create your own hat.

My wife and I had a great time on this experience! At first, we thought the store and the products were a little “blingy,” but they have lots and lots of tasteful ribbon, feathers, scarves and charms to add to your hat too. There were many colors and styles of hat to choose from. The guide measured our heads to ensure a good fit. After choosing our color, material and style, we steamed and stretched the hat over a form. The stretching takes a little bit of “elbow grease” but wasn’t that hard. The guide did any of the sewing needed (ribbons, buttons etc.) on a sewing machine. There we a couple places to sit, but mostly we were standing around a table for the duration. The instructions were in French, but the guide used an app and Bluetooth speaker to translate and it was very effective. We were the only English speaking couple in the group of 8 but it was fine. One of the other participants spoke a little English and we chatted a little. Overall we had a great time and we both made very nice hats that will be practical to wear, not just souvenirs! Highly recommend.

It was so much fun. The teacher was fantastic and had a good sense of humor. He also helped everyone who ran into trouble with their hats and we were all able to complete something to our satisfaction.

Our group, consisting of a 45-year-old couple and two 18-year-old girls, had an extraordinary experience crafting unique souvenir hats with Lady Gaga’s renowned hatmaker. This was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip.
The hatmaker was not only incredibly talented but also engaging and patient, guiding us through each step of the hat-making process - in translated french! . We learned so much about the art and craftsmanship involved in creating these fabulous pieces. The atmosphere was creative and inspiring, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Each of us walked away with a beautifully crafted hat that we will cherish as a special memento from our trip. This activity was a perfect blend of creativity, learning, and fun. Highly recommended for anyone looking to create a unique and stylish souvenir

Fun and fashionable. I'm not sure what the other reviews meant when they said she spoke no English. In our group, Mary the instructor spoke English just fine with us as well as French with the others. She gave us each the individual attention we needed, and my hat came out great. I got a couple of compliments the following day when I wore it as I went out.

What a wonderful experience! My daughter and I had a fantastic time. The instructor only spoke French but used a translator ap, which we all know are not very accurate, and even comical. However with the help of a bilingual, fellow classmate we understood pretty well what we were asked to do.
After making the tough decision of which color and style of hat we were going to make, we were given a wooden shape to use for our specific head size. Then we stretched, steamed and pulled our own hats.
After making the hat we were able to choose items to decorate the hat with. I would caution the price of the event only covered the cost of a few add ons/decorative pieces. They had a wide variety of trinkets, feathers, charms, scarves which cost extra. They even had designer buttons (channel, YSL) for over $100 each!

Even though we were the only ones in group that didn’t speak French, our teacher and the group made it work. Was really fun experience, however, when you go to add the decoration to your hat, only the ribbon and a feather included. All the buttons and pins you add are for a price. Other than that, I’d recommend this…hats came out cute!

The class was a lot a fun. It was much longer than we expected. The teacher was great but didn’t know English. That made it harder and longer. But overall I would highly recommend the class it was fun and educational.

The hat making was a lot more work than I expected. We were on our feet for 4 hours! We learned a lot, made a hat, and some new friends. Sara helped us every step of the way and we couldn't have done it with out her. We were instructed to put all our belongings on a locker and take the key. When the class was over, the locker was wide open and my LV bag could have walked away with my passport in it! Extremely disappointed in the flimsy lockers when you're told every thing must go in! Bring a drink with you cause nothing is really provided.

Fantastic hands-on workshop. Making a hat is hard work, but so rewarding. The finished product is beautiful! You will spend more than the $150 base price, but you walk away with a piece of art that you made in Paris.

Could have been really fun but it was overcrowded and chaotic. Eight customers sharing one small table, only one mirror for trying on the sample hats to choose your style, long waits for help from the one workshop leader - ran way over the allotted time. Noisy, chaotic venue - trailing cables, loud music, very hot. With a bit more space, better air con and a smaller group:leader ratio, it could have been fab, but it was actually just tiring and a bit stressful.

this was such a great, fun experience! I paid extra to have the brim of my hat sewn with grosgrain ribbon on the edge so it took a little longer than normal. Was there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This was probably the most unique experience I’ve ever had through Viator. I was the only one in the class, but even if there had been five other students, I have no doubt that I would have received the same individualized attention. The class is held up a couple flights of stairs in a whimsical studio full of pion art. I was offered a beverage on arrival, and we proceeded to the workroom, where I was able to choose the color and shape of my hat from a large variety of options. The next couple of hours were spent shaping, steaming, pressing, and decorating my hat with a Generous choice of appliqués and adornments. All the materials were of extremely high quality and I got to do all of the work myself with excellent coaching throughout the process. The experience was authentic—not at all like Some of the tourist experiences I’ve had where you some of the tourist experiences I’ve had where I have signed up to learn some thing, but in reality have been provided shoddy materials and felt like I was going through the motions in a water down simulation of the real experience. I am still staggered by the value of this class. It was only US$98, and I am confident that I would’ve paid twice that to buy a hat like the one I made. For what I received, I would have expected this activity to cost $500 US I can’t say enough good things about this experience, but unfortunately, I am reviewing about five years later. (August 2022 was the earliest date I could select for when I attended.)

When I booked this experience, I was excited about making a souvenir to take home from Paris but, was not sure what to expect. I ended up making a beautiful hat that I will wear for years to come. The instructors were great and brought me through the whole process with ease. Once the hat itself was molded into the shape I chose, they had a wide variety of adornments to choose from. They were very helpful getting all the decorations in place. The studio itself is impressive with something to look at on ever wall and corner. It was something you would expect from a hat marker. It was one of the most favorite things I've done on vacation.
