This is a full day and most excellent. Check out the stained glass windows. The modern ones were blown out in WWI. The tour of Champagne region. The story of the limestone contribution is excellent. The tour ended in Hautvillers, the place where Dom Perignon lived and worked. He didn’t invent champagne, he improved the method. Brits were making sparkling wine at least 30 years earlier. But, it’s a good story.

Dear Aaron,
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We are delighted to know that you enjoyed every moment of your Champagne journey — from admiring the stained-glass windows in Reims to exploring the limestone cellars and discovering Hautvillers, home of Dom Pérignon. It is a joy for us to share these stories and experiences with travelers like you.
At France Tourisme, our greatest pleasure is to create meaningful and memorable moments, whether it’s a sparkling day in Champagne or a cultural escape in another part of France. If you wish to continue exploring, we would be delighted to welcome you on our Loire Valley Castles day trip or a relaxing Seine river dinner cruise with breathtaking views of the Eiffel Tower — two very special experiences that combine history, culture, and a touch of Parisian magic.
We hope to see you again soon for another unforgettable adventure!
Warm regards,
Alice de France Tourisme

Guide was awesome. Only 5 of us and we really had fun. Deviated a bit and the 5 of us sat for lunch together. It was so nice to talk with others from different places.

Harry, our guide, was quite personable, energetic and enjoyable. However, we were surprised (and totally disappointed) when we did not tour the actual Maison Mumm Reims Cellars. The tour details stated, " . . . visit Mumm's Champagne cellars and learn about the harvesting and production process . . . ."
If you are booking this adventure, simply be aware that (even though the tour mentions Mumm) you are not visiting the original Mumm Reims Cellars. We actually had a pleasant tour of just one of their 25 kilometers of small cellars (see photo) . . . Silly us, for ASSuming that we'd actually visit the historic bubbly site.
Also be forewarned: Do not book your tour for a Sunday. Reims Cathedral is not fully accessible on days of worship.
On a positive note: The visit to the Lighthouse of Verzenay was enjoyable, educational, and offered beautiful views of the many vineyards throughout the valley.

Thank you so much Lin for your feedback.
We are sorry your experience didn't match your expectations and we appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention.
The Mumm cellars visit is usually included in this tour but it seems it was unavailable that day which is why we chose the smaller cellar option.
We will make sure to specify it if it happens again. We are glad to know you were still able to have a good time there and enjoyed our guide's company during the tour.
Thanks again for your feedback! Have a lovely day,
Christophe from France Tourisme

All parts were memorable and different. Enjoyed the Mumm tour and visit to lighthouse garden the most.

We are very disappointed in this tour operator. We were 15 minutes late due to road closures all over the city from the bike race and we tried calling the entire time we were driving, which was 45 minutes and no one answered the phone-We also tried to contact them via chat. By the time someone finally answered the phone, the bus had just left. No one tried to call us even though they had our phone number and no one answered the phone and when she finally picked up she said, very rudely she wouldn’t stop the bus and we can’t be reimbursed because its considered a no show but it was not our fault and no one answered-if they had, they would’ve known we were only five minutes away at that time. We left our hotel 45 minutes to drive a mile and all the road closures were causing us to have to turn around everywhere. They kept 374.44 for something that was beyond our control, we left in more than enough time to make it if the streets would’ve been open, so be VERY CAREFUL when you book this. We were even willing to meet the bus somewhere.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are sorry to read your disappointment.
All of our tours are timed, especially our group visits so we unfortunately cannot wait for late customers, especially when everyone else arrived early as asked. We understand your frustration with not being able to reach us, our agency is open every day from 9am which is why we couldn't answer before.
We ask all of our clients to arrive early to avoid this kind of situations. We are really sorry but traffic in Paris is completely out of our control, and should always be taken into consideration when planning your transportation in the city.
We understand you were not able to make it on time, unfortunately as stated on you reservation and on our terms of sales there is nothing we can do once the date of your reservation has passed.
Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any other questions. Have a good day,
Christophe from France Tourisme

This tour was amazing with fun-packed and educational activities! Our tour guide Serge was clearly passionate about what he does and did a great job introducing us to the beautiful history of Champagne. We were in a small group that made the tour a lot more enjoyable as well. I was initially hesitant due to the lower cost and small number of reviews but quickly dispelled my doubt once the tour started. We had an awesome day!

Absolutely fantastic trip! Serge - the Gide is one of the best with plenty of knowledge of history of France, kings life, architecture, arts, etc. His knowledge of Champaign region is unbelievable. Unforgettable trip. Thank you!!

Our car broke down 30 mins into the tour, we were made to stand in the cold till the tow truck came. Even then the new car took a while and the tour was delayed further by 2 hrs. Then we set off but we’re rushed to finish everything planned. We got back to Paris at 8:30 pm after finishing the tour. Our tour guide tried his best to make it up and Overall Champagne-Ardenne cellars was good but the tour company needs to fix its cars !!!

A small group of us had this tour to Reims and champagne region. The driver was very informative and we learned lots about champagne making. Also the tastings where great. The stop at Reims Notre Dame was a Highlight and we also had time for a Lunch in the town. Very worthwhile Spend.
Highly reccomended.

We were disappointed as we had done a similar tour with a similar price a couple of years ago.
The wine tasting was 3 small glasses of okay wine and we were left between refills in a room
which was awkward and not a cellar door experience. The last tasting felt like a filling in of time with 1 tasting and too much time sitting around waiting to hop back in our vehicle to check out Dom Pérignons burial site then whizzed back to Paris. I would not recommend this day tour.

We enjoyed a great day with our very professional tour guide Alex. The visit to Reims gave us ample time to explore the cathedral and its surroundings. G H Martell champagne house offers a lovely informative tour and champagne tasting experience. The trip through the rest of the valley and the champagne museum, put all the information in perspective. If you enjoy the culture of champagne, i can recommend this tour.

We had a great time. Our guide Mr. Reza was a wonderful guide. Fluent in english and thoroughly knowledgable.

There were only 3 of us on this tour which was great. Our guide was very helpful. The tour in the wine cave was interesting but it was difficult to understand what the host was referring to. His English could have been better. The light house museum with champagne tasting was fun and informative. Overall a great experience. Would recommend.

This tour was really great. We got to see the Notre Dame Cathedral in Reims. Then we did a wine cellar tour and tasting. The champagne was delicious. We then got to see a lot of the local area of the Champagne Region. And we got to see Dom Perignon's grave. This tour was wonderful and our tour guide was very helpful. The only negatives were traffic coming back into Paris it took 3 times as long to get back -- prepare to be sitting in the car for a long time and the museum was only so-so, but the views from the light house were amazing. I would recommend this tour.

The Champagne cellars and tasting were fantastic. Beautiful countryside along the way. The stop in Reims to see the Cathedral was breath taking. Small group is the way to go. Highly recommend.

The guide and driver was good as he had to deal with the Paris floods.
Thoroughly enjoyed everything I learnt and saw.

We booked this tour because the excellent itinerary was just what we wanted. We were primarily interested in the Reims Cathedral and the tour description promised a guided tour of this landmark. We have more an interest in the champagne and wine making process than actually in the champagne so one cellar visit and the museum at Vernezay was perfect for us. As it turned out, the guide was terrible. We drove to Hauvillers, our first stop - more than 1 hour from Paris - without the guide saying one word literally. We had to ask him his name when we arrived at the village. He gave no commentary the entire day. The museum and the wine cellar had their own commentary and guides so our guide was unnecessary at these places, but he gave no explanation about anything we passed. He did not talk the entire day. When we finally arrived in Reims, our last stop, the guide did not even go in the cathedral so of course there was no guided tour as is promised in the tour description. The Reims cathedral was on my bucket list so this tour was a big disappointment. My opinion is that the tour company, France Touisme / Paris Tourisme Agency, should lose their license for false advertising of this tour since there was no guided tour of the cathedral. It turns out that the guide's English was limited even though this was an English language only tour. The other members on the tour were equally disappointed because all they wanted to do was drink champagne. Either they were misled by the tour company only one cellar was to be visited or they made their own mistake by not understanding the tour description. I really can not say enough bad about this tour company and the product they gave us in this tour.

The tour was nice. Drive in the country side was picturesque. Our guide Pauline was extremely knowledgeable. The Cathedral in Reims was a treat. The cave tour at Pommery was very interesting.
My 2 main disappointments were our driver Wade and the amount of time we had for lunch and seeing Reims. Our driver acted like he had never driven in France before. Despite 2 navigation systems the vans and our hosts phone and verbal directions from our host, he continued to make multiple wrong turns and needed constant hand holding at almost every turn/exit in the road. He also needed instructions on utilizing the toll booths bc he had know idea which lane to pull in or how to obtain the ticket. He needed the same guidance on our return through the toll booths. It almost became comical, but truthfully, your company should not have such an inexperienced driver taking groups out.
Secondly, the time in Reims for lunch and seeing the city was limited to 1 hour. Lunch alone took just over an hour - so no time at all to see or visit any shops

It's an OK tour, The tour guide did not say much on the bus. We visited the Martel Champagne cellar and we get more information from the champagne cellar guide than the tour guide.

Serge our guide was wonderful. He never got tired talking and was pleasant the whole trip. The Reims Cathedral was beautiful and so was the Abbey were Dom Perignon is buried along with the reliquary of St. Helena. Of course we had champagne tasting 3 glasses and visited the vineyards. My only complaint though was the minivan was a bit cramped for 8 people. Overall, we had a great time.
William W, Mar 2016
Excellent, we really enjoyed this tour. We didn't feel rushed and learned so much. Our guide Serge was fantastic.
Jennifer H, Mar 2016
Our guide, Serge, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to explain the history of the sites that we were visiting plus he commented on places we would pass by in the mini-van. It was great! The cathedral was gorgeous and the history is amazing. The visit to the champagne cellars was interesting and the champagne of course was fantastic! I will recommend this trip to others.
