Great trip, short ferry crossing, beautiful scenery, new experience. We loved the hike around two islands. The ground can be rocky and uneven so good, supportive footwear recommended. Great value and excellent guides Austra and Leo were very knowledgeable and informative.

Neil was great. He showed us many local plants. Told us about the history of the islands and about the culture of island life. He even shared some great geology info (my interest area) and gave good tips on what to do for rtfs rest of the day.

Overview

Explore two or three beautiful islands (depending on the season) scattered throughout Oslo’s fjords on a small-group island-hopping tour on foot and by ferry. Visit local villages, sea cliffs, historic sites, forests, and hidden beaches. Be sure to bring a swimsuit and towel to enjoy an invigorating dip in the Oslo Fjord. This was an outstanding experience. Niv was an excellent tour guide, and it was an absolute pleasure getting to know a Norwegian a little. Easy walk with a little elevation. You can get away with running shoes very easily, but trail runners are preferable.

Simple Trip

Jeremy_S, Jul 2026
What a simple trip! Get public ferry passes and visit two local islands. You could do this on your own. So why pay for this tour? What makes this different is the exceptional are the guides that Curtis hires: Luka and Leonardo! What a team as they explained Norwegian cultural and geographical matters with ease. Worth every krona!

Mikayla was great! Gave lots of interesting knowledge we would’ve never learned otherwise. The scenery was great and the walking was a great pace for everyone in our group. A beautiful way to see Oslo from the islands and explore a few of the islands themselves. Well worth it!

Wonderful, unique way to experience Oslo!

Kimberly_L, May 2026
This tour was great for getting to know more about Norway, the Oslo area, and especially the special connection between Norwegians and nature. It was an opportunity to do something quiet and scenic outside the city and really appreciate the beauty of the fjords. Our tour guide (Laura) was absolutely fantastic, and incredibly knowledgeable- she didn’t just take us to some outstanding spots in the fjords but also explained a lot of the history and background for the places we visited. The walking was not difficult either, trails were very well maintained.
