We could not understand our guide. We went to places uninteresting to us like the library. Could have been a good tour but the guide basically ruined and wasted our time.

Expected guide to have a plan about places to go. He didn’t. Kept asking what we wanted to see. We don’t know the non touristy places. Then after the tour I got a notice to pay the cab which I offered to do at the time. That is a cost of business was that. Astor should absorb.

Very disappointing. Although Olga was very nice she did not have much information on Oslo or Norwegian culture. We booked trip for 700. Once we started she told us everything was closed. Should have told us ahead of time. There was no explanation of the history of anything we saw. Couldn’t answer our questions

Actually listening to her tell why she made Oslo her home as she is from China. It was very interesting to hear her story. Our tour was on a miserable and rainy day but that did not deter us from seeing most everything and a bit more. She was very knowledgeable about history (love that) and explaining the basis for some of the artwork in the Parliament building. She was very capable and excited to share anything about her city. Unfortunately we had to end the tour a wee bit early as we had walked way too much earlier in the day and were worn out. She was very understanding and gracious.

Our tour guide, Dominik Amon, was wonderful (he was one highlight of the day. He was very knowledgeable and very nice. His English was perfect. We went all over the city, including to less well known spots. He gave us the names of some good restaurants. I would highly recommend this private tour

The description of the tour with a local guide was just what we for looking for. What better way to explore a city!. However the guide was not a born and bred inhabitant of Norway nor from Oslo. he was a forigner who had lived in Norway for 11 years. He was very kind but his knowledge of Oslo and the Norwegian people was poor. For the price we paid (€110 per pers X 4 = €440) we expected a LOCAL guide and not a foreigner. Also after choosing a date and paying up front we were contacted several times to ask if we could change the date and the time. which for us was not possible.
We felt we were robbed.

Bimala contacted us prior to tour to confirm our request to see opera house and the fortress but also included many interesting sites. She put together an excellent tour to include our request. Explained some history as well as overview of life in Oslo. She kept us on schedule to ensure we saw the maximum planned sites. I highly recommend Bimala. We learned a lot and she made it fun. If you want a truly personalized tour I would highly recommend using Viator. I originally had booked with another company that could not confirm my request after 15 mails back and forth. I canceled. Within 3 emails with viator I was confirmed with the tour I wanted. I highly recommend this tour company.

Our guide Razell was a very nice person but did not have a great deal of knowledge of the city and its history. She had to refer to notes for most questions. She made an effort but certainly was not a “local”.
My suggestion for Oslo start with the Hop On Hop Off bus
