It was a fun morning tour. Our guide Amy was so friendly and informative, and added a lot of fun side facts. We definitely would recommend this as an introduction to the city

Amazing! This is so lovely to read! We put so much care into designing a tour that's both comfortable and truly high quality — it's incredibly rewarding to hear it hit the mark!

Nikola was a great tour guide with a lot of info about the city
However did feel a bit scammed - we booked via viator(trip advisor) who charged us close to £17 per person but we then realised it is a FREE TOUR SERVICE and we were charged money as “tips” for the tour guide.
Nikola was nice an explained that the money provided would provide him with a tip and that we didn’t need to tip him, however the tour page says the price paid does not include gratuities. He explained that they have to pay the website to show up on here so only end up getting part of the payment as tips. He had to explain all this as he stood with a sign that said “FREE OSLO WALKING TOUR” and multiple groups that had booked almost missed the tour as we were under the impression it was a paid tour.

Hello! Your comment is damaging and a misleading lie.
Payments vary from booking platform to booking platform and depend on booking platform’s business model and policy. That’s all there is to it. Some platforms collect payment upfront as a ticket and take a percentage commission, while others charge us a fixed fee per person instead (can be in some instances 7-8$). Some platforms go as far as setting the price themselves, or deciding when to run sales, and all of this is perfectly normal in tourism. Similarly to how buying airplane tickets works across various booking platforms. But either way, what you paid in advance was for the guide's time and expertise.
Nicola poured his heart into giving a wonderful morning to the group, as he always does. He really is a star - as you also noticed. Thank you for kind words describing him, btw. We are an independent group of guides, friends that created this tour with care and love for our city and for its visitors. Doing this makes us genuinely happy and we know it shows in each and every tour we guide.
I hope this reply clears things up, and if you are reading this, we’d appreciate if you were so kind and deleted a very damaging and untrue review for objectively one of the best tours in the city, potentially robbing others of the experience.

Great tour. Guide, Amy, really knew her stuff. Answered questions from the group. Very upbeat. Didn't push, gave time at each stop. Great for the older person. Got lots of good information to fill in rest of trip with some of the places mentioned on tour.

Hi Bryce! Thank you so much! So lovely to read ☺️💃 Thank you for taking time to write. Enjoy the rest of your stay in Oslo.

Magnificant!! An absolutely must do when you first arrive in Oslo to get your bearings. Nicola is an intelligent, witty and engaging local tour guide. Note this is a FREE City Walking tour and then you tip the local guide at the end. Best to not book through Viator or any other platform as the tour guide does not get the full amount you have paid. Alternatively, turn up without booking and tip after that way the tour guide gets the full gratuity.
Response from Host, May 2026
It makes us so happy to read that you had an amazing time with us, Alison. We really do pour our souls into each and every group ☺️
Payments vary from booking platform to booking platform and depend on booking platform’s business model and policy. That’s all there is to it. Similarly to how buying airplane tickets works across various online booking platforms. We respect and appreciate cooperation with all our partners (booking platforms) and you did nothing wrong by booking here, no need to worry about it, really. The only way we do not pay some form of commission to the booking platforms is when a guest stumbles across the direct website of the tour. That’s simply how the world works and it’s perfectly normal in tourism. The most important part is that you chose to book with us - thank you so much for that. What you paid was always for the guide's time and expertise.
Hope you had a great time in Oslo. We’re happy to have been a part of it ☺️

Jessie was an amazing and energetic tour guide. I found it to be interesting and insightful. Never a dull moment, and great length. Check this walking tour out.

Jessie is a great and energetic guide, she talked and guided us through the city center in such an interesting and also funny way, talking not only about the history, but also comparing it with the actual social and economic status. Also, so much useful for orientation and acknowledge the culture in here. Thank you so much!

I recently joined a tour with this great tour guide Jessy, and it was truly one of the highlights of my visit to Norway’s capital. From start to finish, the experience exceeded my expectations.
This day trip delivered an unforgettable experience. I walked away with a deeper understanding of the city, unforgettable memories, and a genuine appreciation for Oslo’s unique spirit. Highly recommended for first-time visitors and return travellers alike!

Great tour, all thanks to our guide Jessie, who was incredible. I could have listened to her talk all day. She gave us a very good historical overview but also many more unique insights into Oslo and Norway as whole and I learned a lot in a short time. I'd highly recommend this tour - not one of dry historical facts but full of interesting information from an honest local perspective.

Our tour was brilliant! Jessie is one of best tour guides on walking tours I’ve had, her anegdotes were humorous and I enjoyed how she connected all important parts of city with most interesting historical points.
Oulfa_B, Apr 2026
Simple and complete tour with all the necessary explanations and wise advice without overload 🙂
In addition, Nikolas punctuated his visit with funny jokes that made me laugh 😄
