Step onboard your city sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus at any of the stops in Oslo, and relax as you travel around the city, while listening to the audio commentary. Hop off and on again as many times as you like within 24 or 48 hours, and explore the city on your own terms.

Why not disembark to visit the foreboding Akershus Fortress? Or hop off for a dose of Viking culture and history at Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum. Other must-see attractions that are on your route include Vigeland Sculpture Park, Kon-Tiki Museum, and Royal Palace. Entrance fees are at your own expense.

This particular tour operator could not be reached via phone by myself nor Viator on the day of my experience. Their website said that they were closed and we NEVER saw a bus!!! Have requested a full refund!!!

The Wheels on the Bus Go ‘Round

The bus was comfortable and provided us with what we needed to get around town. The hitch was at the beginning… We did not know which bus to get on as there was some confusion about the bus with white or yellow. All the buses said “hop on, hop off,” so it was very confusing and this continued at every stop. We would hop off to tour some area of Oslo, then when we went back to the bus stop, it was the same thing all over again… Which bus to get on.The second issue was with the running narrative… There was a lot of static on mine, and the earbuds do not fit in my ears. Other than that, it was perfect!

First off, the driver drove like a mad man! I am not quite sure what his issue was, but we did not feel safe on the first bus. Then, the recorded messages stopped working after stop 2 so we learned nothing. Very disappointing.

Not worth the money

The audio was not continuous with large gaps of no commentary. The second level plastic curtain was hooked by the trees and kept ripping away from the supports and created issues and was dangerous. We were never told what channel to use and luckily another customer informed us. The salesman was friendly but didn’t feel the trip was worth the money

It was very poor. The audio did not work, the driver was not friendly and the covering on the top to keep the rain out kept blowing off. I cut my finger trying to snap the plastic back in. This was a bad experience all around.

Don’t try and get on bus when cruise ships have just arrived. It was a very rainy day and the buses were ill-equipped to deal with this upstairs. Plastic blinds not secure enough with water getting in. Sound systems often not working.

For at half of the journey, audio commentary did not work. Part of the issue was the driver did not turn it on and did not speak English. There was no signage on the buses as to which language was on which channel (English was on channel 3 on one bus and channel 5 on another). Also, the buses did not to the timetable - often the bus departed at least 5 minutes before the time shown in the timetable.

Audio program is poor. The background Music or Sound effects often drown out the narration, which is its main purpose. There is no guide as to which channel is what language. Empty Coach met us at the cruise port, went 2 stops & driver got off for 15-20 minute break. We've only got 7 hours in port, waiting 20 minutes on a non moving bus is not what we want. Same company prior day in Copenhagen had a fresh driver ready to assume operation from the driver on break.

Bus was on time usually, however on one occasion the bus driver simply drove through the stop and we had to wait for an additional 30 minutes. Audio for stop details was very uninformative making it feel similar to a more expensive public city bus experience.

On and Off Bus Experience

The 'off and on' bus experience is a good way to get an overview of cities and decide which sites to go back and visit for more information. So I go on the whole route once (90 minutes average) and then decide which ones to go back to visit for the duration of the pass (48 hours or ?) I have done research in advance on the major sites so choose accordingly. I will add that I ended up taking both bus companies who offered trips of this nature and the Hop On and Off bus was better, in my experience, than City Sightseeing On and Off. The routes were similar for the most part but sound system was better on the former.

The buses did not have working speakers and personal channels to listen to the sites on the Oslo bus. When we tried to scan and use our own phones-it kept kicking us out. We waited at one stop for 40 minutes while multiple other hop on hop off buses arrived and left, but not the one Viator provided. We ended up paying for a taxi as we were afraid we would miss the embarking of our cruise.Our sons were on one that hit a car and they were delayed significantly -not allowing them time to see Oslo. I honestly would rate them zero stars if I could. Highly disappointing and expensive.

The tour that wasn’t.

This was the tour that never happened. After being directed (twice) to the wrong stop location, we finally boarded a bus. Rode one stop. Then sat for almost half an hour at the next stop. Finally the bus started moving, only to stall out and die at the turn on the next block. We sat there, with no instructions or information, for quite a while before most people simply got off the bus. By then, buses were backed up along the narrow street and the staff was running around trying to figure out what to do. 3 hours later, the stalled bus was still there and none of the other busses were running.. I’ve requested a refund.

Very disappointed! It was just a bus ride. The audio didn’t even match up half the time. In comparison to the map more than 6 places weren’t even mentioned. When it was it was pointed out as to which side of the bus to look out of, no time to take pictures as bus drove by fast. Very disappointed and money not well spent! :(

Buses were not as regular as other city hop on buses we have experienced in other cities (five or six). Headphones weren't working. Stops fewer (some just to pick up cruise passengers). Two companies - both red and look almpst identical circle and don't accept the tickets from the other company.
