This was an excellent tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the local food, and she also gave us a lot of interesting information about Modena. The places she took us to and the food tastings were, I believe, the best in Modena.
I highly recommend this tour.

This food tour was exceptional. Wandering the streets of Modena, an insight into the history, and stopping at different locations for sampling of local food was incredibly good. We were introduced to a wide range of foods, and the markets visit was fantastic. Such high quality food and variety, coupled with the knowledge and expertise of our guide was excellent. Would highly recommend the tour for those wanting to sample local and regional foods,

Our guide, Lori, was an encyclopedia of knowledge and led us to so many places. We tried so many local delicacies that we would never know about otherwise. We loved it! Our guide was very personable and I could have hung out with her longer. We highly recommend.

Guide Lori gave us a delicious day, placed food and drink orders for us, and answered all our questions about Modenese food and culture. We spent hours in the market. My one regret is that we missed the gelato stop because the tour ran over the allotted time, and we had to catch a train.

Loridana was knowledgeable and friendly. The food tour was memorable with stops at many venues. Besides Parmesan Cheese and Balsamic Vinegar, we tasted fruits of the region, traditional snacks and gelato. This tour was the best of several we took.

Our guide Loredana was excellent. We took our time exploring foods unique to Modena plus the regions famous cheese and balsamic vinegars. Our group included a vegan (make sure to let them know when booking) and Loredana ensured they had a comfortable and enjoyable experience with quite a few options. Modena is compact, so expect more chewing than walking. A historical and geographic overview adds to the experience. It was fun and filling. Highly recommended.

Loredana Sganzeria was a delight to spend the day with in Modena. She was thoughtful and accommodating. She was aware of the very hot day and checked in frequently to be sure we were doing well. Loredana was very knowledgeable and the pace was perfect. The tour was small so we didn’t feel intrusive. We felt comfortable to ask any questions Lastly, the food was amazing and Loredana explained the both historic and regional context. Wonderful tour and guide.

Disappointed, not for foodies especially those already acquainted with Italian local produce. More a history tour, not so much a food tour. Overpriced for what you get, could be done in 2 hours…
Tip1, you can do at least 50% on your own, and have almost the same experience.
Tip2, eat something before you go. It will take a while for something decent to hit your stomach.
Very nice guide (hence the 2nd star) but not very impressed with food served. -balsamico tasting (three drops from a small selection, per bottle)-a few different aged parmigiano cheese, with some quince and ricotta - Italian icecream - three mini bread like pitas with choices of local cut meat - two bites of cannoli. Some water, some Lambrusco a cappuccino with local dry bread.
Started off with a history lesson first 45minutes. Walking in circles around the same venues, not worth four hours of your time. You can visit the market yourself and get almost half of the tour for free in your own time.

Even if I'm not happy to read this, me and my guides are already discussing some of your considerations to improve the tour.
In light of your comments, Modena is a small city, so the walking involved can be a little.
At the same time, there's a lot to share, so we think that adding some history between the stops could increase the overall value. We'll work to keep a good mix between the two.
About the food, we understand the importance of striking the right balance between quantity and quality. While our tour isn't designed to be a buffet-style feast, we aim to ensure that each stop offers a great culinary experience.

We loved our tour guide. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. Her choice of tour stops were excellent with generous servings of the different foods.
It was nice that even though it was a walking tour, most of the stops included sit down time.

We had an absolutely delightful full and amazing guide, who went above and beyond. However, the food tour was not as advertised. We believed we were going to go places where they actually made Pecorino Romano cheese, and also a someone that produced authentic balsamic vinegar. That was not the case.

This tour is a “must do”! Our very knowledgeable tour guide, Loredana, introduced us to the special and unique qualities and heritage of both Modena and Emilia-Romana. The history is fascinating, and her culinary tasting selections were superb. Our small group (7) all were able to absorb and share in this immersive experience. Additionally, having the tour at the front end of your stay, if possible, allows for follow up visits for more in depth exploration, with knowledge of the geographic layout of the city center. And, photo ops galore! Plus, I learned more about the balsamic vinegar industry and history here through our tasting stop from the fabulous presentation than expected. Perfetto! An enchanting city with tasty delights and experiences await!
