Continue with an exterior visit to the Basilica of San Prospero, dedicated to the city’s patron saint and famous for the six marble lions at its entrance.
Next, stop at a traditional tavern to share a platter of local cold cuts. Afterward, stroll through Piazza Fontanesi and pass by the Museo del Tricolore (outside), where the Italian flag was first adopted in 1797.
Walk through Piazza del Monte and near the Teatro Municipale Valli, one of the city’s most important cultural landmarks.
