The most fun random thing to do ever. Fed a bunch of raccoons watermelon and kayaked through a Minecraft mangrove biome. Pretty amazing.

Very disorganized- Initially lost our confirmation, this resulted in last minute requirements ( the night. before) were we unaware of:: being sent a list of captains and stewards, selecting and contacting a captain, selecting and contacting a steward to find one that was available for our charter. Additional charges we were unaware of after booking and confirming charter and asking if there where additional expenses. Captain and steward did not speak or understand english. Interior of boat when we arrived had a strong odor of pot. Steward stayed on the upper deck with the captain and did not help anyone in our party . No ‘water toys’ as advertised. Captain passed a yacht being towed in a slow wake area causing a wake resulting in the staff of the yacht yelling at our boat and taking photos - scaring our kids that we were in trouble. After spending a lot time researching, selecting and booking this experience very far in advance , Our kids had been looking forward to this for 3 months. This charter was a deeply disappointing experience and fell far below what was described.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, especially after your family had been looking forward to it.
We would like to clarify a few important points to provide full transparency:
All pricing details and additional fees are clearly outlined in our listing prior to booking. We always strive to ensure there are no surprises, and we encourage all guests to review these details in advance or reach out with any questions.
Regarding the captain and steward selection, this is a mandatory requirement established by the United States Coast Guard. By law, charters must be operated by licensed captains who are hired separately from our company. For this reason, guests are provided with a list of approved, licensed professionals to choose from. These captains and crew operate independently, and while we do our absolute best to facilitate a smooth and quick coordination process, response times can occasionally vary.
We are very sorry to hear about your concerns regarding the crew, communication, and onboard experience. This is certainly not the standard we aim to deliver, and we will be addressing this feedback directly with the captain and steward involved.
Regarding the water toys, these are subject to availability and conditions, and we regret if there was any misunderstanding in your specific booking.
As for the navigation incident mentioned, safety is always the captain’s responsibility, and licensed captains are expected to operate according to all local boating regulations.
We genuinely value your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our processes and the experience we provide. Our goal is always to deliver memorable and seamless experiences for every guest.

There seemed to be no accountability between Viator, the "third party" (we were never sure who that was), the boat owner, and the captain and crew. We were told to choose our own captain from a list of names. We asked for assistance and a representative from the third party or Viator said he selected someone for us that he knew well and was a friend, and assured us he spoke excellent English. When we arrived at what looked like a very sketchy collection of slips, the Capitan spoke very little English and had never heard of the person who referred him. There was a strange situation where we were handed the boat keys and then had to hand them to the Captain. The contract they wanted us to sign seemed odd. The whole situation was too uncomfortable and we left and did not take the trip.

We’re truly sorry to hear that you felt uncomfortable and chose not to proceed with the trip. That is never the experience we want any guest to have.
We’d like to clarify a few important points. We work with a community of **licensed, registered captains** who meet **U.S. Coast Guard requirements**. To obtain and maintain their credentials, captains must pass **rigorous exams in English**, so they **do speak English**, even if Spanish is their native language and their accent may be stronger. We are proud to support the Latino community and to work with honest, hardworking professionals who continue improving their English every day.
Regarding the paperwork: all guests are required to sign **standard agreements** in compliance with **U.S. Coast Guard bareboat charter regulations**. These documents are not “odd” — they are part of operating **legally and safely** and help protect guests and all parties involved.
As for the keys/boarding procedure, there are standard steps to verify documentation and transfer operational control to the licensed captain, which can look unfamiliar if you haven’t chartered under bareboat rules before, but it is a normal part of the process.
We fully respect your decision to leave, but we’re saddened that our legal compliance and our effort to support our community were interpreted as a lack of professionalism. We always aim to be transparent, and we’re available to answer questions before arrival so everything feels clear and comfortable.
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
