Overpriced experience

Vannessa_R, Nov 2025
The food selection was good, there were lots of things in the menu which I wanted to try and others which I had never heard of and was good to have an opportunity to try. The negatives about the experience were that the tour felt rushed, and I have to add that I found this to be a very overpriced experience, specially because on top of the expensive tour you also have to tip the guide. I understand that tips are part of Mexican culture but when compering the cost of the tour plus the tip against the cost of the food that we were given it’s definitely overpriced.

Toti expertly guided us through the culture and history of street food in Mexico City and we enjoyed every minute of the tour. You definitely won't leave disappointed or hungry! I recommend this tour to everyone!

Fantastic food tour

Connor_M, Apr 2025
Come hungry! Our tour started slow with chicharrón and tortillas, but it quickly picked up speed and I was plenty full until dinner. We tried many unique and interesting foods, like tlacoyos, bombazas, fermented chocolate etc. Come with questions too, about Mexican food or even just travel advice. Our guide Clara was very sweet, welcoming, friendly, informed, passionate, approachable and told really interesting anecdotes.

A good food morning

Met all my expectations. Clarity is a terrific guide. She is very knowledgeable and took us to the best vendors. We ate tamales, many different tacos, tried salsas, had a quesadilla with potatoes and ended the tour with a delicious cold chocolate drink. Clarita is delightful.

Definitely do this

Clara was an amazing guide! This food tour was amazing because she was so knowledgeable about everything. Even though there were a few things that we didn't like as much- we understood why they were included because of their historical/cultural significance. Left so stuffed- we couldn't even finish everything and ended up splitting things, so come hungry! Great tour.

Lots of food and it was...

Lots of food and it was all amazing. Nico was incredibly knowledgeable on the local culture, history, and the food preparation. Guide exceeded expectations!

Nico led a great tour.

Every stop had great food that I never would have tried on my own. My 14 year old daughter ate things she never would have. Nico gave great insight on the neighborhoods, the food, and some Mexican history. Highly recommend.

Lotsa food, just wish more flavourful . But wow that final chocolate!

Portions were great ! But Honestly I wasn’t blown away by the taste quality of Mex City street food (have had better in other cities) , and found the flavours of the dishes served from the various street carts to be just average. The food at the final spot : a farm to table Choclatiera , where we sampled an incredible hot chocolate served nice n cold for the hot day and chocolate mousse dessert to die for! YUM!

Delicious and filling

Tonalli was a wonderful guide and gave us lots of information about the foods we were eating. You could eat all you wanted. We ate at multiple places. Highly recommend to get your feet wet in finding good street food in Mexico City.

Thank you, Clara!

Clara was a wonderful guide! We had so many delicious eats on this tour - she accommodated our food preferences and my 6 year old's pickiness - and we ended the afternoon with such fully bellies. This was a highlight of our CDMX tour.

The best experience for street food that you could imagine.

Sharon_A, Nov 2023
Clara was an extraordinary guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, engaging and just an all round lovely person. The street food tour was amazing so many different tastes and back stories to each stop. Clara guided us about how much we needed to eat at each stop and also accommodated everyone’s dietary needs. We can’t recommend her highly enough

Amazing experience!

Adrian was a passionate and extremely knowledgable tour guide. I had a wonderful time on this tour, trying all sorts of Mexican specialities and learning about the food and culture of the country. Everything was delicious and we visited some great parts of the city, I particularly enjoyed the tamales and carnitas! Would 1000% recommend this tour, is a great way to experience the city!

Great experience, totally recommend!

Overall we really loved this food tour! Our guide Ariane was really great and paced the food tour really well. This tour was definitely a great beginner food tour and offered some opportunities for those who are a bit more adventurous with food. Lots of different stops with great eats!

Filled with knowledge, happiness and so many delicious bites!

Edmund_T, Jan 2023
What an amazing experience! We learned about street food culture and the reasons why it's so important to Mexico City, and tasted some wonderful tortillas, tamales, pambazos, carnitas, quesadillas, jugo, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some other delicious bites. We finished the tour with some artisan chocolate and it was a revelation. I speak enough Spanish and know enough about food to try these items on my own, but I don't have the knowledge of the Eat Mexico team to pick the best places, or to put these street dishes in the context of city life, and that's perhaps what makes this tour extra special.

Yim was a great guide....

Yim was a great guide. She was fantastic with our kid while she explained and introduced us to some of the best food we had on the trip. Would highly recommend.
