- The Tours of Uxmal and Kabul Ruins were very good and the highlights of the day.
- The tour guide was OK, but I was hoping for more and better information.
- The Artisanal Mayan Chocolate Factory was a disappointment. The Mayan Ceremony should have been explained and the person doing the Cacao story and tasting did not speak English...the talk should be in English for tours asking for English.
Response from Host, Feb 2026
Thank you for sharing this experience with us!
We are glad that you enjoyed the ruins and the guides performance, both the Mayan Ceremony and Chocolate Tasting were in english
We'll look into it with
Don_B, Dec 2025
We had a fantastic experience! Uxmal was an amazing place to visit and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Kabah and the Choco-Story Museum was great add-ons. Lunch was very good - great location and delicious food with good selection. Even the drive out was interesting and scenic. Would definitely recommend!
Response from Host, Dec 2025
We appreciate such a detailed review, we try our best to make the tour special from start to finish
Yucatan and Mexico have plenty more to offer and we hope to explore it with you
Joseph_J, Oct 2025
Uxmal and Kabah Ruins were amazing and the chocolate history experience was quite interesting (and tasty). The lunch was excellent.
Unfortunately the tour van was extremely uncomfortable (narrow seats, no leg room and elevated in the back so we couldn't even see out of the windows). The guide, Anil, seemed disinterested and the information given in Spanish was way more than what was shared in English.
Uxmal and Kabah ruins are must sees; however, I wouldn't recommend this tour company.
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the ruins, the chocolate experience, and lunch. Our vans meet all tourism standards and the elevated seats are meant to improve visibility, though comfort can be subjective. Anil is a valued guide known for his professionalism, and bilingual tours sometimes vary slightly depending on group composition. We appreciate your perspective and wish you great future travels.

The tour was cancelled due to lack of participants and now I wait for my refund. There were issues before the cancellation though, I selected my hotel but the tour guide changed it. When asked I was told they have the right to change it in a not so pleasant response. They just didn’t seem too concerned or helpful with the cancellation. So here I wait to get refunded. I’ve never had any issues with tours until now.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
The refund was provided right after you were notified, there was no "wait for a refund"
Also, you were assigned a meeting point according to your location. We never sent any "not so pleaseant response" we just stated the facts about the tour information
For any readers:
It's important to read the tour information to avoid thinking that the operator "changed" your meeting point. And to remember that tours can be cancelled by the operator, and if so, you are deserving of a refund
Matthew_N, Mar 2025
Pedro and Francisco were amazing had a great time!! Very knowledgeable, tour went on nice pace not to fast not too slow. Pablo had amazing grasp of the history area would highly recommend
Response from Host, Mar 2025
It's important to include everyone in the experience, for our guides the goal is for everyone to feel included while having the best time
We hope to see you again on your next visit! There's still plenty more to see
John_H, Feb 2025
The ruins at both Uxmal and Kabah are so worth a visit, and I would highly recommend it. Unfortunately, we found the tour van to be cramped, and the lunch was not very good. Also, the tour guide didn’t seem engaged with the group, having an attitude of “I’m going this way, keep up”, without any acknowledgment or aid for those in the group of varying capabilities.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
You found the tour van filled, not cramped, for any tour you take you have to understand that transportation can be full
The food served is mexican, we understand that you don't like food from the region
The tour guide always make sure to engage with the entire group, we have many reviews of our guides being patient with the travelers with mobility issues
You were the one that did not like to follow the guide and wanted to go on a different route
For any readers, please refer to all the other reviews
Kristi_N, Feb 2025
Everything exceeded our expectations! the guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, but they also made sure to stop the bus before the long drive so everyone could go to the bathroom and get snacks. The Mayan ruins were fantastic! the guide gave great insight in both english and spanish of everything we saw and gave us all time to explore on our own. The meal was absolutely fantastic with great service! I had the empanadas and flan. The chocolate history was more than advertised! In addition to the chocolate tasting and mayan ceremony- which were awesome-, it was also a little zoo with jaguars, spider monkeys and a few other animals to see.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
We truly appreciate such a detailed review of your experience! It's great that you got to enjoy every stop and the overall adventure
Yucatan has many things to offer, we hope to see you soon!
Denise_S, Feb 2025
Fun! Bring water, hat, sunscreen, and wear sturdy shoes. The chocolate museum is way more than expected.
Response from Host, Feb 2025
We are happy that you enjoyed this adventure, Uxmal, Kabah and Yucatan have many special things to offer

I found Uxmal to be the most interesting of the Mayan ruins near Merida. It wasn’t crowded and the guide was very knowledgeable. The whole process was very efficient and enjoyable
Response from Host, Jan 2025
Uxmal & Kabah are hidden gems of the Mayan Culture, we are glad that you got to enjoyed them and we hope to keep spreading the interest in the culture
We'll keep improving for your next adventure

I asked to leave the tour while we were still in Merida. Since I Use a cane I told the tour guide that my ankle was bothering me ad that I preferred not to continue. He said he understood. I left and walked a short way back to my hotel.
The real problem was not my ankle at all. 1) Despite only two pick-up points, the tour operator had failed to account for all of the customers; therefore, from the second spot we had to return to the first for the others. We had left the first pick-up place 5 minutes before the tour was supposed to leave. I thought it was because all the people on his list for that place had gotten on the van. Apparently not, and he got flustered over his oversight. We were to be on that tour for 10 hours making several stops. This tour guide did not give me confidence in his ability to manage the day. 2) Soon after we left the first pick-up place the first time, a toddler started crying in the back of the van. I had not noticed a child there at all. The child's outbursts continued loudly as we drove around. Again, we were on a 10 hour tour and someone thought it was OK to permit a baby in the group? My nerves could not take a full day of that.
Response from Host, Dec 2024
Your one star review was about... a child?
You left the tour by your own choice
There was no drive back to the first meeting point, we don't know why would you say something like that.
This tour does allow children and infants to participate, it never claimed to be for adults only
We understand that social anxiety can be a heavy burden
However, this review was not made out of anxiety, it was made out of spite
We hope that you find a private tour for your next adventures
John_R, Nov 2024
Best of the best. Really a magical day. Our guide Mauricio and driver Pablo were exemplary. Mauricio was one of the best bilingual guides we have encountered so far. He has a great sense of humor and he cares deeply about the Mayan history and culture.
Response from Host, Nov 2024
The staff is always looking to give their best performance so travelers can have an unique and incredible day getting to know Mexico and it's culture
We are glad that you got to enjoy an amazing day, we hope to see you again soon for your next adventure!
Charles_B, Aug 2024
Such a beautiful and magical place. I loved it more than Chichen Itza. The grounds were lovely and the ruins extensive. The guide gave very informative explanations.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
The Mayan Culture has plenty to offer! Kabah and Uxmal might not be as known as Chichen Itza, but they are still very special in their own way
We are glad that you had such a great time at the ruins and with the guides performances
We hope to welcome you again on your next adventure!
Georgeanna_A, Jul 2024
Best tour ever!! Our guide was fantastic! Mauricio is awesome! He was so knowledgeable about the Mayan culture.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
We'll make sure to commend the guide for his performance, we are happy that you got to enjoy the tour!
Audriana_M, Jul 2024
Uxmal is breathtaking and well worth the trip! Would recommend a tour where they transport you to and from - there's a lot to do in that area and it would be difficult to navigate it all on your own. Kabah was also great, and more interactive than most historical sites. The chocolate museum was interesting - a bit kitschy, but the chocolate was delicious! This a fairly rigorous tour, we ended up walking a total of ~5 miles, definitely make sure you have sunscreen and bug spray and reapply throughout the trip. Our guides were excellent and well prepared for the day - we stopped at an Oxxo (convenience store) to get supplies (beverages, snacks) and they had a cooler for our beverages and chocolates purchased at the museum. Bring more water than you think you'll need, you'll thank yourself ok the drive home for having it available. The lunch was also good, and made even more satisfying by all the walking in the heat and humidity done prior.
Response from Host, Jul 2024
We appreciate such a well detailed review, thank you for letting us share this experience with you
Uxmal & Kabah sometimes are overlooked even, they have plenty more to offer that other ruins site
We hope to welcome you again soon!
Mabel_B, Apr 2024
It was well put together except for the timing. It is a very hot season in Yucatan and we arrived to the first visit around 10:00 am. By the time we visited Uxmal it was past noon and super hot.
The tour itself was very informative with plenty time to take pictures and to get to know the Mayan Culture.
The driver and the tour guide were very nice and accommodative. The lunch was excellent and the chocolate experience as well
Response from Host, Apr 2024
The time we arrive at each visit is already accounted for, the time does not make any difference in the weather at the place
Before or past noon, the heat will be the same as Yucatan weather works
mgarriga28, Apr 2024
If you have to decide between Chichen Itzá and Uxmal and Kabah, don't even think twice and get this tour! Uxmal is a whole city with many structures most of which you can climb. You can also see everything from a scenic lookout point. Crowds are smaller, there are many spots with sunshade where you can rest from the heat, and enjoy the silence. You can hear the echoes better. Certified guides are all trained to give you pretty much the same information, so you will receive the same basic info whether you go to Chichen Itza or Uxmal. The lunch provided was better than other tours I've been to, but keep in mind that they don't accept credit cards for the drinks, which you have to pay. If you like steaks, order the Poc Chuc, which is like a large and thin pork steak. Iot was excrllent! Kabah has warrior statues and you can climb to see them up close and see how they mutilated their faces to look more menacing to their enemies. Really, you cannot miss this tour!
Response from Host, Apr 2024
All ruins have something special for everyone!
Uxmal and Kabah have structures to appreciate upclose and even climb them, our staff will do their best to share the Mayan Culture History
We are happy that you got to enjoyed it! Yucatan and the Mayan Culture have plenty more to offer
We hope to see you on your next adventure!
Moses_D, Mar 2024
Rafael was informative and educational during the tour. His explanation added details about the sights of the Maya ruins. I truly enjoyed the tour.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We'll make sure to commend Rafael for his performance during the tour
Yucatan has plenty more to explore, we would love to share more adventures with you
Sylvain_L, Mar 2024
Took the tour with my mother. Somewhat underwhelming as far as logistics. Very basic explanations and some parts not accessible for an elderly person with mobility issues. The ruins are amazing and would visit on my own without an organized group. Lunch was average.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
This tour was never recommended for anyone with mobility issues.
Going there by yourself with a person with mobility issues could have gone much worse, you could get lost or get into a medical emergency
Our staff gave much information about the ruins, it's important to be close to the group in order to not miss anything about the explanations
Taylor_R, Mar 2024
Denny was an absolutely incredible tour guide... and photographer! He was so knowledgable, funny, and happy to answer all of our questions. We truly had the best time and learned so much from him!
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We appreciate your comments towards the guides performance
For them it's important to share their history, we are glad that you enjoyed the ruins and the staff
Justin_H, Mar 2024
It was a good tour overall and schedule was satisfactory for seeing the sites of Uxmal, Kabah, and the Choco-story. I thought Uxmal was better than Chichen Itzá — fewer crowds, lots of structures. Only negatives were that the guide seemed to struggle with English compared to other tours we’ve had. She tried hard and was nice. Still, that was a small negative. Also, the lunch was kind of mediocre and served a little bit late in the day.
Overall: I’d take the tour again because it goes to these sites and was efficient overall. Worth doing.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you for your notes
The guide on turn does speak english, it's important to stay close to the group, otherwise you won't hear the information correctly.
Amy_W, Mar 2024
The air conditioned car was very nice and the driver was courteous. It was a nice tour just nothing particularly special. I wish I had booked directly with the tour company it would have been less expensive and then the money spent for the experience received would have matched better.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Buying online has it costs, the extra money you spent goes for the personal attention, the payment security and the hassle free purchase
Buying directly with the supplier does not have all that
Matt_R, Mar 2024
Our tour guide was Pedro and he included interesting remarks and knowledgeable facts during each segment of this tour. Even mixing in some humor from time to time! I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and recommend it for anyone with a curiosity about Mayan civilizations.
Response from Host, Mar 2024
Thank you! We try to keep all the nonsense away
Pedro is one of ours best guides, we'll make sure to commend him. Our staff's goal is for everyone to notice and appreciate all that the Mayan Culture has to offer
There's plenty more to explore!
Nazli_E, Feb 2024
The tour covered all the historical places and pedro as the team leader was great with sharing all the history of the places. Hiwever, it would be great if the tour started sooner as we could skip the hot time and have lunch earlier.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you for your comments! We'll take note for future changes
Sandra_B, Feb 2024
Overall, we enjoyed the tour. The visits to Kabah and Uxmal were the highlights. However, contrary to the Viator description of the tour, which indicated the tour would be in English, the commentary from the guide was 90% in Spanish. We were told to be at the meeting site 10 min early but the tour guide showed up 25 min later, which caused a bit of confusion at first. Also, we spent over 1 hr and 45 min at the Choco Story which was too long, causing lunch to be delayed and served at 16:00 (4 pm).
Response from Host, Feb 2024
The tour is conducted in english and spanish, all the history information were given in both languages
If you saw and heard the guide talking more in spanish, that's because the spanish speaking customers talked to him more than you
You can't expect the guide to talk in english more than he has to if you don't even try to chat with him or get involved in the tour
We have multiple good reviews of them speaking propper english, that is from customers who actually interact with him
Charles_L, Feb 2024
While the tourist masses head to Chichen Itza, Uxmal and Kabah are relatively unexplored, and I often had whole areas to myself. Given Uxmal’s and Kabah’s scale and unique features, I actually found them more interesting and impressive than some better known tourist sites closer to Cancun. Our guide was excellent, easily conversing in Spanish and English and fully knowledgeable about the ruins’ Mayan history. She struck the right balance between guided tour and letting us explore on our own. All in all, I highly recommend this tour; it was perhaps the best from my trip.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you! Kabah and Uxmal are indeed places that go unnoticed
Our guides try to give as much information and history as possible while at the same time giving freedom to self explore
Bonnie_M, Feb 2024
The first sighting of Uxmal & the interior court yard with the amazing ancient carvings! Our guide was very knowledgeable & enthusiastic about sharing the story of Uxmal & Kabah.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Uxmal is an amazing site that has been well preserved for many years, it makes us happy that more and more people and getting to know it!
Thank you for the complements towards the staff, they do their best to make the adventure special!
SA_B, Feb 2024
Our guide and driver were great. We felt well looked after and it was hugely informative and fun. Very good value. The chocolate history was the weakest part, but still full of interesting information and artifacts and we certainly weren't expecting a mini-zoo there! Lunch was good, the obsidian store had a fascinating talk and samples of 4 liquors! Uxmal was as good as Chichen-itza if not better and Isamel was delightful. If you can, go, as you won't regret it!
Response from Host, Feb 2024
It's important for us staff to make the experience as special as possible
Uxmal and Kabah are hidden treasures that most people doesn't get to know. We are glad that you got the chance and that you enjoyed it
Robert_P, Feb 2024
Victor was our driver and guide for this tour. He was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Uxmal and the history of the local area. The tour was well paced and very enjoyable. Uxmal was the best site we have visited on this trip. Communication with tour operator was good and everything was very well organised. Thank you Victor for a memorable day.
Response from Host, Feb 2024
Thank you for the kind comments towards our team! We truly appreciate it
Uxmal & Kabah are great ruins sites and our work is to show it to everyone. It's important for us to spread the beauty and culture of Mexico
Mexico has still plenty more to offer!
Marilyn_G, Jan 2024
A great day with Maurice and Francesco the driver.. a good number of travellers.. 11 total I believe… Great translations in Spanish and English. Was conducted evenly and clearly.. a great comfortable van and seats.. although it was nice when the music was quieter. Just a personal preference.
I highly recommend this tour.. amazing Mayan ruins and the chocolate tour was above and beyond what I expected!!!
Perfect day.. with Maurice a knowledgeable guide and a wonderful person, thoughtful and pleasant!!!
Thankyou for the wonderful tour!!’
A great dinner was included!!
Kindly take a little extra money to give them all tips… I know it adds up but it is important for them… including the lunch staff!!! 😍
Response from Host, Jan 2024
Thank you! We truly appreciate your kind words
The staff will do their best for everyone to feel included, happy and excited
