This was our favorite excursion! Pancho was wonderful and made sure we were always taken care of. We arrived early to avoid crowds. We had shaded lounge chairs, lunch, unlimited drinks, boogie boards, and rode the banana boat. My kids bought tons of souvenirs at affordable prices. It was the perfect beach day.

After reading mixed reviews, I didn’t know what to expect. My mother and I really enjoyed the experience! All of the staff (restaurant, bar, ferry, etc) were all very welcoming. We enjoyed the food, and it was plenty to fill us up. We chose the banana boat ride and horse back riding. The horse back ride was quite short, just don’t the road and back (maybe 10 minutes total) although this was ok for us as the main attraction was the beach. We swam most of the day, the water was amazing over there compared to the beaches elsewhere. The drinks were good, and we were happy to get options other than just beer like some other tours had advertised. There were people selling things on the beach, but they set up a rope they cannot cross. People sell things on the beach all over Mazatlan, not sure why so many complained about this! We had a great time, would recommend to anyone wanting a day trip to nice beach :)

Ok. We got a text from the tour operator the night before, telling us we HAD to be there 30 minutes earlier than we had been told previously. They still left after the original time, and most of the others on the trip knew nothing sbout an earlier start time. However, once we finally got yo Stone Island, it was a good day, and we had fun. I just don't like that they manipulated us for their amusement.

We booked the night before and glad we did. They bus you to the ferry over to Stone Island, then you take another bus ride to the beach. Got to choose from 4 activities, we did banana boat and boogie boards. Unlimited bar and a good lunch provided. The only annoying part was the locals trying to sell you stuff on the beach but they were polite when you said no. Make sure you bring some $1’s for tipping.

We booked this the night before we got to Mazatlan, we came in on a cruise ship. We were lucky to get a spot! We had fun, we have 2 boys ages 6&9 and they really enjoyed the beach and finding sea shells. The lunch was okay but very limited menu. Truly a Mexico experience! Our guides were great and made sure we were doing good the entire time. David is so kind and full of humor! Love him. Pancho was also great. They picked us up right at the cruise terminal and dropped us off. I got my hair braided right on the beach! A lot of panhandlers trying to see you stuff so be mindful of that, but all in all we had a great day there. Thank you guys!

Nice car trip and ferry ride from the cruise terminal lands you at a beach resort. Adequate food, plenty to drink. No extra costs for loungers and umbrellas. Vendors are plentiful, but keep a respectful distance. Water in October was warm and wonderful, but nothing to see if you want to snorkel. I mean nothing. If you want to relax and maybe stroll a couple of hundred yards in either direction, thats nice too. And that's it. The activities are non-existent. We signed up for the banana boat ride. Honestly, it took longer to put on our life vests and get seated than the actual ride itself. It was less than 5 minutes!! They took us out about 200 yards, turned around and bought us back. THATS IT! Straight out, and back. Thank you , come again. Everyone was flabbergasted over how short the ride it was. The next "activity" was a "carriage ride". Turns out you are in the back of a mule-drawn wagon that moves at WALKING SPEED through the neighborhood down the street. What do you see? Nothing. Houses where locals live. Past a small bodega. The driver spoke no english. Its like "here's a way to kill 15 minutes". I could have gotten out and walked faster than the mule. The "horseback riding" followed the same route; a slow paced guide driven plod thru a local residential neighborhood. I would recommend only if you want to sit and drink, and swim a little. No worthwhile snorkeling or activities. Advertising such is misleading.

This excursion was perfect for my family and I as we were visiting Mazatlán for the day via cruise. We were picked up at the cruise port and taken to isla de la pierdas. My family chose the banana boat and horse back riding. The service was great and our server was very attentive. Thank you!

I went here by myself and it was perfect! I was traveling with a group of friends on a cruise ship to Mazadlan. On this day, some went golfing and others were tequila tasting. I just wanted to go to a beach and have a fun, relaxing day. This excursion was all that and more. Better than I expected. I was a little anxious as a solo traveler, but the day was amazing. There were 8 of us in a van - a few couples, all different ages, and some singles like me. There was even one local woman who took a day off to enjoy the day. The driver took us downtown and shared some history with us. We had time to tour the central square, visit a cathedral and grab some yummy pastries in a local bakery. Back in the van, we drove to the cliffs and got out to take some photos and watch cliff divers. We continued on our tour and landed at a marina where we took a boat to a private resort. We were invited to sit under palapas and given menus to select our lunch - drinks were included (not too strong, but tasty). The food was delicious! Unlike other Mexican beaches, there were no vendors strolling and peddling their wares. A few were outside the resort grounds, but not invasive at all. I relaxed and soaked up the sun. The water was perfect with wonderful waves to body surf. I don't think I've spent that much time in the water since I was a kid. Later, we were invited to select two activities. I chose a guided horse ride through the small village. It was short but sweet and just enough to get some local flavor and photos. The other activity was a banana boat ride where were were towed by a speed boat out and around for a quick thrill. Neither activiry was more than 15-30 minutes, but both were fun. I went back in the water, relaxed some more and had another margarita. When it was time to go, we got in the back of a pickup truck and were driven to the marina where we boarded a party boat. We danced and sang and shared stories about our day. After a quick trip, we were back at the cruise terminal and ready to continue the journey. When I compared stories with my friends, I definitely had the best outing that day!

Great excursion. We did this instead of excursion from cruise ship. Everything was good except the people trying to sell you things on the beach. Had to tell the same people no at least 5 times.

About the vendors on the beach, restaurants are trying to enlarge the areas where vendors are not allowed, but government says they are trying to make a living, we understand your point of view, so the best to do is stay inside restaurant area where vendors don't have acces, but it's hard sometimes. Very enjoyable afternoon spent at Stone Island. The food was good. The banana boat ride was awesome!!! Transportation from and back to resort was on time. Tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Overall a pleasant experience.

Perfect day! Service was excellent from Port pickup to return. Kind people, not too crowded beach. This tour got us to the beach early and we got chaise lounges. Another tour arrived around 1 pm and there was not sufficient seating for them until we left around 3. Umbrellas provided, too. The food and drinks included were more than enough for us! The banana boat and boogie boards were by far the most popular options. I had read reviews before booking and I have to say I thought this was well worth the price and a great way to spend our day in port from a cruise. I did not observe any of the things mentioned in negative reviews. Book this!!

Hello Dan, thank you for your review. Your tour has open bar, this means that you can order Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages with no charge, so we wouldn't put any emphasis on selling you any beverages, what we will do for sure, is offer you everything that is included on you package, we will respect if you don't want some of the Inclusions. Since you were one of the first ones getting to the restaurant, you got the lounge chairs closer to the water, also, closer to the line where the vendors can approach, you just had to move a few feet away from that line, so vendors could not reach you, there is a line they can not cross

It was okay if you want to just spend time on the beach. Food was okay, we had open bar and a choice of 4 entrees. The optional activities didn’t last very long, maybe about 20 mins each.

It's mainly a trip to another beach with 4 activities (horseback riding, trailer ride, boogie board and banana boat ride) which all last under 20 minutes. Like most all inclusives in Mazatlan, they still nickel and dime you constantly. You pick 2 of the 4. Basic lunch is served. Better food and drinks cost more. The staff are warm and welcoming.

Initially, we were quite satisfied with our decision. Pancho was excellent. The setup requires you to go to the bar to get your own drinks. At first, the drink selection included bottled water and fruit juices. Fruitty drinks such as strawberry diaquries, pina coladas anything with tequila and vodka. No Whiskey options. However, after about two hours, the bartender informed us that these items were no longer available, leaving the menu quite limited. The regular food options weren't very impressive, BUT the guacamole, salsa, and chips from the paid menu were DELICIOUS! The horseback ride took place on a concrete road through a neighborhood and lasted only six minutes. The banana boat ride was decent, essentially just a pull. Overall, if you're seeking a quick or budget-friendly option, this is ideal. However, expect panhandlers on the beach continuously trying to sell you items.

Best Family Beach Day ever

David and his team were amazing. This was the best excursion we had on our recent 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise. The pre cruise communication was excellent. We had 4 children traveling and needed to ensure age appropriate car seats even though the driving distance was just a few miles. David was great in this regard. Where he went above and beyond was recommending to us to disembark an hour earlier than the original excursion start time so he could ensure we got to the beach early and got good accomications on the beach. It made all the difference! We were in the 1st group of 20 to get to the beach and were able to get our group of 14 including 4 small children situated with all that we needed for a great day at the beach. We don't drink so the open bar at the beach facility wasn't a draw, but they did offer non alcoholic speciality drinks which was awesome! The food served for lunch was good - you could pay extra for added food and we got some extra chips/guac at a small fee and it was wonderful. As a bonus we realized there were massage services available at the beach and all 10 adults were able to have massages on the beach during our stay for very reasonable costs. It was our best family beach day ever! Thanks David!

Also time, thank you superman 🦸‍♂️ AKA (David). We got the all inclusive package i would recommend, accommodations were very helpful. 10/10! My kids loved it, more tailored for kids and adults that like beach life and sightseeing. Activities aren't as extreme for the thrill seekers but a great way to see a beautiful beach, old Matzalan, awesome caves.

The staff was nice and it could be a fun trip had I known that some of the activities were not appropriate for kids. The description said we could choose among 4 activities (banana boat, boogie board, horseback riding and horse carriage ride) but the horse back riding is not safe for kids to ride. The horseback riding and horse carriage ride was just going on the street where cars are. We were planning to to ride horse but ended up not having anything we want to do and got stuck at the restaurant.

As long as the kids can not reach the stirrups, it wont be safe for them to ride a horse, and since its our responsibility if something happens while riding, we do not recommend it for young kids, we apologize for the misunderstanding. you still had the banana boat ride and boogie board option.

10/10 Family Friendly Beach Experience

Mazatlan Van Tours partnered with Puesta De Sol Restaurant and Pancho to provide the ultimate beach getaway on Stone Island. The food was delicious the "combo" plate is the way to go, unlimited beverages, and an assortment of activities,(Boogie boarding and the banana boat were the ones we chose to do). The van escorts stayed onsite the entire trip and were always checking in and making sure we had an excellent time. When I find myself in Mazatlan I will definitely be taking my family here again! Thanks to Our driver Raul and our other Driver Luis. Thank you to Pancho for being to helpful and making the experience seamless and thank you to the captain of the boat as well as the host my friend from Pennsylvania! Such a blast!

Not worth the money!

It is very chaotic once you get to the island. It is a beach tour but chairs and umbrellas don’t come with it even for rent. They had a few rows of chairs but they will all be taken by the time you get there. They book way more people than they should. The food is barely edible!

Excellent experience from finding our tour to getting to the island to everything on the island. Everything was well organized and more than we expected. We did the horse carriage ride and banana boat. Carriage ride was excellent, the man driving us around was so friendly and talked about the town and even let my daughter “drive”Panchita around. Food was really good, and drinks were very strong and unlimited. Thank you for making our experience in Mazatlan great!!

Very good day at Stone Island

First I would like to say that Victor was excellent. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional. There were a group of 6 of us and we all had a great time, even without doing any of the activities. The coconut shrimp was excellent, the drinks were plentiful and it had a great atmosphere. There was plenty of sun or shade. There were a couple of hiccups along the way as far as transportation, but they were very minor. Our van couldn't get into the ship terminal due to extremely long line of trucks waiting to get in, so we had to walk across the street and down the street a short distance, which wasn't that big of a deal. Then our catamaran arrived at Stone Island and we all climbed into our transport and then had to get back out because it wouldn't start. As we were waiting for another transport, one of the guys on our excursion walked over to the driver to take a look at the problem and started it up. The driver didn't have the gear in park. We all had a good laugh and got back in and were on our way. All together we might have lost 30 minutes of time at the restaurant and beach. Those were the only negative things and they were very minor. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I would definitely do this again and I highly recommend this excursion.
