I was a very hot day in the 90's and humid too. The vans air conditioning could not keep up making the tour very uncomfortable. The driver tried getting another van but couldn't. It was so hot in the van that my Son got sick from the heat. Yes it's Mexico and gets hot, but why wouldn't the company invest in an axillary air conditioning unit to make it's guests comfortable. When I booked the tour I did so because I knew it would be hot and they said air conditioned vehicles. Would of been a great tour with a proper vehicle.

driver was very helpful, but the divers weren't able to drive. not drivers fault. our group were not alcohol drivers so during first stop, driver went to get sodas for us
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hellos Shari, we appreciate your review. Me personally was your tour guide and driver and I don't understand what you mean by "I was not able to drive". I designated the first front 4 seats for you and your friends because you had a wheelchair with you, and were really happy about it.
In my cooler I had water, beer and different types of soda, (Pepsi, seven up, orange soda and apple soda), but you didn't like any of these options, you asked me for coca cola and diet coke, this is why I went and got different sodas than what I had on the vehicle.
I honestly think that I can drive, but I will ask some of my coworkers about it. Thank you Shari

Good as advertised. Driver was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. Driver could have explained more history or fun facts of the city.
Roz_B, Jun 2026
Mazatlan Van Tours was conveniently fun, easy, personalized and an excellent choice for seeing and experiencing the city, the culture and the fun spots without being “cattled” around! Small group with Benjy was perfect! Frank and David keep it well organized and trusted!!!
Linda_H, Jun 2026
Very pleasant and the guide vey knowledgeable would recommend it to anyone looking for a well rounded tour

We took the tour on a cruise stop and had an amazing experience. Eduardo was a fantastic guide who was knowledgeable and friendly. He genuinely loved his town and made a great effort to show us his favorite spots. He was very attentive throughout the tour, checking on everyone, offering cold drinks and taking (even printing) photos for us. We really enjoyed visiting Mazatlan!

I love how David checked in with me the day before to remind me where to meet. Once we got there, it was really nice that someone else showed us where he was. After that David took care of the whole group and made sure we were happy and comfortable the entire tour. We got to see the driveable sights of Mazatlan and had plenty of time to take pictures and wander around. David made sure we had water and even cocktails to drink. He always made sure we were good. Thank you David for the awesome experience!

Great way to get a taste of life in Mazatlan. Our guide David was great, he was patient and accommodating. Comfortable rode with a great itinerary.
Ed_S, Apr 2026
Our guide David was great. A perfect tour for cruise ship passengers wanting to get a quick overview of Mazatlan.
Mark_L, Apr 2026
Great tour. Great guide in David and he made the tour fun and informative. Offered drinks including beer, shots, and frozen daiquiris. We also had plenty of time for shopping, swimming at beach. Very enjoyable
DAVID_D, Apr 2026
David was a great guide. He looked after everyone very well and was extremely knowledgeable. Great value, will definitely book him next time we are in town.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you David, we always try our best to help create great memories out of your cruise trip vacation.
Hope to see you again.

Tour guide, David was waiting in the outside market at the port. His dad was our tour guide. We were on a mini bus which had a drinks cooler. We could help ourselves but the description mentioned water, sodas and alcohol. I thought there would be plenty but only water and one orange are bottle was available. We went to watch a guy dive off a cliff then pay a tip. We then went to a bakery where we could use the toilet. We didn’t need to buy anything but my family wanted some pastries. There was also a church to see there and an old market. We were then taken to a souvenir shop where we were given little margaritas (I guess thst was the alcohol they mentioned)! I guess they get commission for taking you to the shop if you buy something. Then taken to a hotel to use toilet and check out beach and find somewhere to drink or eat. Probably on commission again. Not the best tour I’ve been on.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Mary, we appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
Mary, we always provide water, sodas and beer, at least one of each for every passenger we have on the vehicle, since the cooler is on the back so you can help yourself, we can not control how many drinks passengers take, but we will have some extra on the back of the bus for this matter.
One of our stops, is the cliff divers, and yes, there is a guy that jumps from a 45 ft high cliff and asks for tips, but as your itinerary says, there will also be a nice area to take pictures, get souvenirs and says cliff divers tips are not included but optional.
One of the most important stops on the itinerary is the old town, where you can visit the Inmaculed Conception cathedral and a traditional Mexican open market, the bakery where you can use the restroom is actually a nice and clean option that we toursit guides arranged for your comfort.
Mary, the same as the restroom, the souvenir store and hotel at the golden zone are places that we prearranged to visit, because are places that we guaranteed to be safe and secure, we do not get any commission, but they guarantee us they won't sale you fake jewelry at a high price, try to sell you timeshare or anything special at the hotel for you to use the facilities like the pool area, restaurant bar, towels if needed, access to the beach and toilets, as you mentioned above.
We visited all places and respect the timing as your itinerary specified, and we apologize for not covering all your spectations.
We know travelers plan their trips ahead of time, and we always try our best to create great memories, so we will take your review seriously for this tour not happen again.
Aaron_M, Apr 2026
The tour was great. Louis was helpful and took us many great places. There was time to swim in the pool and beach.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Aaron, thank you, yes, Luis Maciel is one of our most experienced tourist guides in our company, also my Father lol.
We are glad you had a great time with him.
Allison_B, Apr 2026
Jesus, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. Any tour where it depends on the knowledge and personality of the guide is subjective, but we saw cool things, he answered all our questions, kept us moving, but let us linger when we wanted.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Allison, that is actually what we are looking for with our tourist guides, have the knowledgeable for most of travelers questions (we might not know everything) but also having the flexibility for you to be relaxed and not feel rushed on the timing tour.
Thank you
John_L, Apr 2026
The experience was very informative. However, the cliff divers were extremely aggressive demanding tips, as well as the street vendors were fairly aggressive.
Carlos_B, Apr 2026
David was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. Managed both Spanish and English speakers with ease and consideration. The tour goes to the most important in Mazatlan.
Daniel_B, Apr 2026
Be cognizant if there are any special event occurring, when you want to schedule your activity. We originally scheduled for a Friday tour but our tour operator asked if we could change it to Friday, as Bike Week was happening and motorcycle events could interfere with our route access.. We had the flexibility and agreed to change.
When we were picked up, we were shocked to see that we would be touring in a small sedan. There was already an elderly couple in the front and middle seat, and our guide offered up the rear seat and the remaining middle seat for my wife and myself. I am 70 years old and had full knee replacement recently, and my wife had her hip replaced. We were expecting to tour in a full size van or minivan. The rear seat had approximately 4" of leg room. The rear seat is sized for a small child but definitely not an adult. Between the other gentleman and myself, we made the best of a bad situation. Definitely not comfortable at all and as I sat across the rear seat, I was unable to even fasten my seatbelt. It was also very awkward to try and manipulate our bodies to climb in and out of the rear seat.
Gloria, our guide, was very good and apologized for the seating situation. Nonetheless, it was a challenge to enjoy the tour, given the ergonomic deficiencies.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Daniel, thank you for the flexibility to change your tour from Saturday to Friday.
Saturday roads at the old town were closed.
About the vehicle, we provide a 5 passengers SUV for a 4 passenger city tour.
On the first tour stop, 15 minutes away from tour hotel, your tour guide Gloria, arranged with the other couple so you could seat on the front seat, actually, when you got back to the vehicle from the first stop, the other couple were already on the back seat, but you refused to be on the front, you told Gloria you wanted to be on the back seat, again, and you were on the back seat the rest of the tour.
We apologize if the car was not not what you expected, but we provided a confortable seat for your tour, but you refused to use it.
Colleen_M, Apr 2026
It was a very informative tour. We were not able to get out and walk about much due to the motorcycle rally. That was very disappointing. Gloria was full of knowledge of the history of Mazatlan.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Colleen, thank you for your review.
We tried to do our best with the limitations that the bike week had.
Olas Altas area was closed, and had to go around.
But old town, look out point and Golden zone were available.
Thank you.
Hortencia_C, Apr 2026
Overall it was good, the vehicle was air conditioned and Uriel the driver/guide was really nice and provided lots of history. I didn’t care for the cliff divers, they took too long to jump (just to gather money); donations are optional but they keep insisting for donations.
PaigeP, Apr 2026
The experience sounded so great and ended up terrible. Our tour guide never showed up. He put us with a different company. Then that companies van broke down. They put us in a taxi. The taxi was crammed. There were no beverages as promised. The taxi driver was very nice, but certainly not a tour guide.
When we got to the cliff, no one was diving. We were told we had to pay $30 to watch 1 dive. We knew we were going to pay gratuity to the divers and we were prepared for that. But we had no idea we would watch one dive and we’re demanded $30 before the guy would dive.
I contacted Viator for a refund. I told them all the details and they refused to even give us a credit on our account. I don’t know that will ever use Viator again. They did not stand behind their tour and they did not treat us well.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello Page, we contacted you 2 days and one day before the tour so you could join us on an eaelier tour but we did not get a response, because of this, all our shared vehicles departed 3 hours before you showed up, and left on site one of our tour guides for you. we actually provided a private tour guide on a small vehicle for 6 passengers, you were a group of four.
Since you started the tour at noon, all our shared tour vehicles had already left and cliff divers area was empty when you got there. Divers do diving for a living, they usually wait for about 20 minutes so more tourist vehicles stop on the area so they dive and then collect tips, if no more vehicles stop, they might ask tourist from one vehicle a fixed amount for the diving, we can not control they way they work.
The vehicle is late model and we provided beverages, soda, water and beer.
Page, we provided the tour, cover all the itinerary, look out point, cliff divers, cathedral and Mexican open market and Golden zone on a private vehicle with a tour guide and beverages on board and we did not ever treat you bad, this is why we can not provide a refund.
We apologize for the miscommunication that we had with you, but we tried phone calls, text messages and emails prior the tour with no success.
mc_k, Apr 2026
Coordination in the cruise terminal was easy but the tour wasn't anything special. We shared a 12 passenger van with another family. We saw sites but out guide was not knowledgeable about the City nor did he even talk that much on the trip. Loves seeing the City but didn't learn much that I was hoping for. The cool margarita mid ride and cold beers in the van were appreciated. But even our kids were unimpressed.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Hello mc_k, this is David Maciel, I tried to find your name on my booking system with your initials, but couldn't find it. I know you were with me personally because of the margaritas on the vehicle.
I apologize for not covering your expectations on my tour, I always try to cover and share the most important facts and information about Mazatlán on the short period of time I have with travelers while on my vehicle and places to visit.
Thank you for your review, this notifies me that I should do better on briefings.
We apologize because you trusted pur company but not getting enough.
I hope the rest of your trip was better.

Friendly, timely and organized. Tour guide provided ample time for exploration. Mazatlán is a large city and worth the visit.
lisa_t, Mar 2026
Went very smoothly. Good tour for the money. Not crazy about the restaurant choice but it was all very convenient
GyulaAttila_B, Mar 2026
A quick and somewhat superficial visit of the downtown followed by free time in a seaside hotel. For the price it's ok as a short excursion to get off the cruise
Robin_T, Mar 2026
This is a great tour and excellent value. The tour guide provided good information about Mazatlan and did not rush anyone. Great deal as one-way taxi fare to Golden Zone from cruuse port is $20 US.
John_C, Mar 2026
Enjoyed this Mazatlan tour! Our guide David was friendly, knowledgeable and safely showed us around the city.
Margie_G, Mar 2026
David is very knowledgeable and a great guide! We learned about the history and culture of Mazatlan and saw many amazing sights! Highly recommended!
Rita_P, Mar 2026
Everything was great! David was a great tour guide had a cooler of drinks and water available, small group in a van (not a big bus) loved the beach stop!
Highly recommend this Tour! Picked up and dropped off at the cruise port, very reasonable price 👍
My friends and I had a great time!
czstreet, Feb 2026
Gloria was an amazing guide. She was informative, kind, and helpful.
It was like having a local friend take you around her city. We saw
many sights, and I learned about the city and its history. Very good tour.
Dean_R, Feb 2026
02/25/26. The tour lived up to our expectations. When exiting the ship you must board a tram for a short ride to the terminal. The tour guide will be waiting just outside the terminal in the open area where there are shops. Our tour guide David Maciel did an excellent job!
