Ricardo our guide was awesome. He took us to see around the city and the Stone Island. Well organized and lots of people involved that make our experience enjoyable. Thanks Ricardo and David Maciel

Don’t do this one

Kevin_N, Jan 2026
Poorly organized. Resort they took us to was not great. Food service and quality were poor. Definitely would not do again.

Not enough loungers or umbrellas.

Janette_B, Dec 2025
The tour through town and the boat to the "all inclusive" was good. The problem was when we got to the place on the beach there weren't enough loungers or shade. We waited around 35 to 40 minutes before we got a lounge chair and an umbrella. Drinks were only included if you got them yourself and not from a waiter. The food was just OK and it didn't have to many choices for lunch. FYI, food is not unlimited. What really bothered us was if we hadn't put our foot down firmly they wouldn't have found lounge chairs and an umbrella. We would have been stuck at tables which wasn't the relaxing day at the beach we were looking for.

Response from Host, Dec 2025

Hello Janette, thank you for your review and the time you took for it. we are trying to get the most loungers that we can, but sometimes they are not enough. we have 2 different tours, the one that you did included a 90 minutes sightseeing in Mazatlán before going to the island, our other option is going straight to the island. on you particular date, we had close to 8,500 passengers combine from 2 ships docked, this is why loungers where taken by passengers showing up earlier to the island. the area designated for cruise ship passengers has a bar just for ship passengers that is no longer than 30 ft. away from the farthest table, waiters provide the service of drinks to tables when they do not have an open bar included, but when you do, you have to get your drinks by yourself. Food is not unlimited, only alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks are unlimited. About the loungers, you dont need to put your foot down firmly to get them, if other clients are using them, we wont be able to provide them to you, you will get them when someone leaves them empty, as we said before, we try to have more and more, but sometimes they are not enough, but we always have enough tables and chair at the beach close to the water to enjoy tour day.

Accurate excursion...

kristin_K, Nov 2025
Accurate excursion description. Very well organized. Easy to meet guide at cruise terminal. Various staff made it a good experience particularly with street vendors approaching every where we went.

Family Fun in the Sun!

Crystal_C, Nov 2025
Our Guide Louis was a kind and wonderful guide. He took great care of my family of 10. The Cathedral was so beautiful. We wish only that it was pointed out when we were in old town and where to shop during the city tour apart from street vendors with the same items. Shopping at the cruise terminal was really nice and relaxing. Otherwise the beach was amazing, the drinks strong and the food tasty. We ordered extra tacos out of pocket as they were not an included menu item. Everyone was so accommodating and we each had a blast riding horses and boogie boarding in the righteous waves. Well worth every penny!

Avoid this Tour and Tour Operator

B_G, Oct 2025
David, our tour bus driver was great, but that’s the only good thing I can say, the rest of the excursion was a complete waste of time and money. First stop was at the Cathedral of Mazatlan, we stopped and the drive said to be back in 40 mins. No tour, just aimlessly wandering around. Second stop was to watch cliff divers, again just get out and come back in 20 mins. This is just a tourist trap because they won’t dive until enough tourists have handed over money. The last stop was a boat ride to an “all inclusive” beach resort/restaurant on Stone Island. The food was mediocre at best, and because the beach was closed the majority of our time was spend at the table, being encouraged to drink absolutely disgusting mixed drinks. Because the beach was closed we only had 2 activity options, a 15 min ride on a cart pulled by a mule, and a “coco-loco” which is a rotting coconut they drain and fill with alcohol and some disgusting mixers. I still can’t figure out how getting an atrocious drink from a coconut is an activity. The misadventure ended with a ride back to the ferry, but before we could go the driver pretty much demanded money from everyone, and stood there until we handed him cash. This excursion was a complete joke, and I’m certain it wouldn’t have been any better had the beach been open. Find a better excursion from a reputable tour operator, this one isn’t worth the money.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Hello Brendan, thank you for your review. While we are driving through the old town on the way to the cathedral and open market, we explain mazatlan history, cathedral information and what you can do and visit here, this is because we usually have different families and not everyone is interested in everything, this is why we provide directions, so you can wander around and have free time. Second stop, as your itinerary says, diver do diving for a living, so they will collect tips after one or two of them jump, but also, tip is optional. The cliff divers is a small are with a few vendors and the cliff, you can walk 3 meters and have a great spot for pictures. We apologize about the food not being good enough for you Brendan, we will check that with the restaurant. We can not apologize about the weather, but we would've liked to be better... The coco loco is an option just in case you don't want to do the activities, we know that banana boat ride was not available because of master harbor closing the port, but you could also have done the horse back ride. Usually at restaurant waiters offer you drinks from the open bar because you have an open bar included, and waiters are told to be offering these drinks, we apologize for that. About the tip Brendan, I was on the back of the truck with you, and the driver actually respectfully asked me if he could pass the tip jar, to what I responded yes, and Brendan, you were the fist one tipping, I remember because there were just 5 of us on the truck. Because beach was close, and there were no beach activities, part of the tour came back before from the island, when I asked you and the other 2 couples about going back, you told me you were having a good time and wanted to stay longer, you all were having a coco loco by the way. I really appreciate that you actually tipped everyone, also me, very good tip, my apologies I didn't see you were actually not having a good time Brendan.

Okay...

Scott_R, Oct 2025
Not the fault of the tour, but the water on the beach was so hot and non refreshing. The food was nothing to get excited for. The staff was incrediable and kept us up to speed as to what was going on, especially Poncho and the Captain on the beach. It was relaxing and we did have a good time. The pictures of the party boat, was not how it was.

Amazing time

Marcia_B, Sep 2025
Super fun day and no issues! We chose to ride horses and biggie board for our activities!! It was fun and very enjoyable

Must do!

Bryce_B, Jun 2025
Great day! Transfer and day was fun! The different experience options were not my cup of tea but the others enjoyed the horse on the beach and the banana ride.

Not worth the money

lidia_A, May 2025
The guy who picked up us at the hotel was great ,that's the only good thing about this experience In my all inclusive package it said water and pop included but is not !!! only during the drive to the pier The boat looks like a party boat but is not Is only a water taxi taking you to the island no drinks offered . No sighs seeing they take you to a place to see the guy dive a smelly dirty place( by the way the guy was asking for $40 dollars ) and then they drop you up by a church for almost an hour by this time you lost 2 hours of your excursion you waste another hour between Waiting ,loading and taking you to the place to take another ride to the beach Ones you get there they said open bar and lunch is available ,but lunch is only 4 options to chose if you wanted shrimp or anything else you have to pay ,water soda and beer are not included . Banana boat ride is 5 min and the boogie ride is an old horse pulling a cart down the street, not at the beach Then is time to go, no more time to explore or go snorkeling. I do not recommend this excursion

Response from Host, May 2025

Hello Lidia, we apologize for not covering all your expectations for this tour. On your tour itinerary shows 2 stops on the Sightseeing tour, cliff divers (as shown on the itinerary, tips for them are not included, is optional, but you still have time to get pictures and souvenirs on this stop), then, we visited the main old town area, where you can visit, the main square, cathedral and Mexican open market for 45 minutes, as shown on the itinerary, on the ride from the different places we did brief, and explain about the local architecture and history of the area. For your point of view, you lost 45 minutes at this area, but the rest of the group actually enjoyed the cathedral and bought souvenirs at the open market. When we got to the pier for the catamaran ride to the island, you did not wait more than 2 minutes, catamaran was waiting for us already. Boat ride for 10 minutes, and truck ride to the restaurant another 5 minutes to get to the restaurant. Activities like carriage ride or horse back ride are not done by the beach, for peoples protection at the beach, master harbor doesn't allow this. Lidia, as your itinerary shows, you'll be about 3.5 hours at the island, for lunch and activities. We apologize for the inconveniences that we cause you on your vacation day with us. For passengers that are not that attracted for the old town Sightseeing before the beach, we have a tour option that goes straight to the island and have more time there, that would probably had been the right option for you.

Left Behind by Tour Guide Mazatlan

William_C, May 2025
We were on a Celebrity Panama Canal cruise. We booked most of our excursions including this one on Viator, and in general had pretty good luck with them. Not this one. Mazatlan sightseeing and beach all-inclusive through Tour Guide Mazatlan. Basically, we were left behind at the terminal by the tour. Our ship arrived earlier than expected, so we didn’t rush to get to the meeting point. There was a huge Carnival ship in port, and we had to wait in line for about 20 minutes to catch the mandatory shuttle to the terminal. We arrived to total pandemonium with thousands of guests of two cruise ships jamming the area. After we finally figured out where to go, there was no one there waiting for us. We asked around for David , the tour operator and were told he wasn’t there and were guided to his father who would take care of us. This man was running around trying do more things at once than he was capable of, and eventually, after more pandemonium led us to a taxi area, said something we couldn’t understand and literally ran off. We texted David who told us that the tour driver had already left and we were to take a taxi to catch up with the tour. Due to language and cultural issues everything was totally unclear. We didn’t know where to go and how to get there, so we asked David to call us, thinking that talking might work better than texting. Well, talking was even harder, we we’re getting nowhere so we eventually gave David the option to either send someone to pick us up or give a refund for the excursion. He brusquely said he would refund and hung up. By now we were very frazzled, even made more so by the crowds and overly aggressive tour and taxi operators trying to get our business. If you go to Mazatlan, be prepared for this. There are seemingly hundreds of extremely aggressive “Tour pimps” who do not seem to understand the word no, even though it’s the same in Spanish.

Response from Host, May 2025

Hello William, first of all, you got to the meeting at 10:50am to a tour that was suppose to be at 10:00am, but because your cruise ship was suppose to dock later, which didn't happened, we gave 30 minutes extra for all passengers to show up. 4 different couples, from your same cruise, showed up between 10:10 and 10:15am, this means you were able to show up on time, but as you say above, "you didn't rush". When you got to the meeting point, all tour guides for different tours were already gone. We made 2 phone calls that went straight to voice mail before the tour guide left. When you met my father, he already had his passengers for his tour in his vehicle, he was not waiting for you, because tour guide had already left. When this happened, my father called me and told me about you, to what I ask him to put you on a taxi so you could get to the cathedral (fisrt stop on your tour schedule and we will pay for the taxi). When all this was happening, I was tried to make at least 2 more phone calls with no luck. I then texted you, not you, telling that your tour guide was already waiting for you, you wrote me back that you were not on the taxi, that you were still at the terminal. I provided more clear instructions by text on how to get to the terminal, amd I was texting because phone calls were still not going through. Finally, you wrote "call me", and turn off plane mode or something else because this time, the call went through. When I called you, I provide the instructions again, so you could join the tour, to what you clearly said "if you want to earn my bussines, you have to do better than this", the only option I had for you was to get on and taxi for 8 minutes and join the tour, but you didn't want it, so I had to make the refund. I didn't brusquely hang up, you didn't give me any other options, so I said tou will get your full refund and have an excellent day. Also, there was never a language issue, all tour guides at the terminal are certified bilingual, and we haven't ever had any issues, my father has being a tour guide for 40 years now. Once you get off the cruise ship and get to the terminal, there will be a few tour guides and taxis offering our services, and honestly, we don't know how many of them had offered these services before you get to us, so we will try to provide ours, you can always say no. We apologize for the inconveniences that we cause you here in Mazatlán, but we really tried with what we could to get you in the tour even that you showed up late.

Group of friends from 2 ships met up for a day trip

Rachel_B, Apr 2025
We had a great time. Everyone was friendly. A group of 13 us met up (from two different cruise ships) and spent the day together. We had a lot of fun, I definitely recommend.

Good value

Lois_K, Apr 2025
I liked the variety this excursion offered. Food, drinks, beach, fun activities and a tour of the city. Very nice, and guide was with us throughout.

Fun day in Mazatlan

Cindy_A, Mar 2025
It was very good. We did a little city tour and went to the Cathedral and did some shopping in the market area. Then we went to a small island and had some activities such as horseback riding banana boat. Boogie board and also a carriage ride. Lunch and drinks were included. It was very well worth the money we paid for the experience

Perfect Day

Judy_K, Feb 2025
Food. Beach. Open Bar. Horse-drawn carriage ride. What more can you ask for. Perfect day!! Staff was very professional.

It was a bad experience...

Ankush_W, Dec 2024
It was a bad experience overall. Food was cold and drinks were terrible. I would not recommend this to anyone. The worst part was how the tour operator came with a tip jar asking for tips.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hello Ankush, we apologize for not covering your expectations. At the bar where you got your drinks, you could have told the bartender drinks were not good and get better ones, it happened one time before and bartender served better ones. On the way back from the island, the catamaran staff passes around with a tip jar asking for tips, this is optional Ankush, you dont have to tip if you dont want. and we the drivers, who are the tour operators, do not ask for tips.

Just ok

Janice_H, Dec 2024
Not much site seeing on this trip. The lunch was ok. The horse back riding was maybe 10 mins long, nothing to look at. Would have loved to rode the horses on the beach. I think it sould of been more then 40 dollars. We made the most of it.

Hurry up & wait

David_S, Nov 2024
Very disorganized and spent hours just standing and waiting. Tour started an hour late, so waited at Port for operater to show up. Then tour of church, waited again in full van for half an hour. Wait at restaurant for them to figure things out, wait for shuttle to the boat, wait for boat. Our family did not enjoy the tour. Very disorganized and waste most of the day waiting.

Response from Host, Nov 2024

Hello David, thank you for taking a couple of minutes of your time for the review. We apologize for the delay on the tour, but it was 20 minutes, and this delay was because we were waiting for more cruise ship passengers and did not want to leave them behind. At the cathedral, yes, we waited for 25 minutes waiting for two passengers that did not come back on time, that was my mistake, they actually showed up at the island on their own. We had to wait for shuttles, and catamaran ride because we had 3 cruise ships docked that day, and they were more passengers than usual. At the restaurant, it took me no more than 5 minutes to provide you with a table, lunch and activity tickets. I could say that we were not disorganized, but there were lots of more tourist than usual. We made the best effort for you to enjoy your fay here in Mazatlan, and we apologize for not covering your expectations.

Good tour for seasoned travelers

Joleen_F, Nov 2024
Enjoyed the excursion which was a mix of sightseeing & beach. Just wish communication between the different guides involved were better. Food was surprisingly good. Large menu choices with open bar at beach. Price excellent!

Good experience

Frank_W, Nov 2024
The boat ride, people were friendly botn Pancho and David very helpful. Lunch with open bar was nice, and having 2 activities was a way to get people to mingle

Waste of Time

Lisa_K, Nov 2024
Everyone wants tips! There was a collection cup for the kitchen staff. Activities were lame. Not a really inclusive beach club more like a restaurant in the beach. Limited selection at the bar. Food was ok. Stray dogs wandering in the restaurant.

Average

David_J, Oct 2024
Enjoyed but would not do again or recommend to others. Boat and land transport on Stone Island was old and worn. Employees were friendly and foot was just OK.

Sensational Stone Island

Jill_B, Oct 2024
Our tour guide Mel was excellent. The tour of the city, the cliff divers, and the day on Stone Island were great! Jose at the site on Stone Island was very accommodating and entertaining. I highly recommend this trip!

Great activity for families to see the city and enjoy the beach

Justin_J, Oct 2024
The Viator reps were right where they said they would be, so they were easy to find. They had cold drinks on the van for us to enjoy while we traveled to the various destinations. They were very curious, and went out of there way to make sure we were where we needed to be. When they say "all inclusive" that includes a drink in the van on the way to the beach, a single meal, and unlimited drinks at the beach. They told us we would eat lunch at 1, but we didn't end up getting our food until after 2:00 PM. The only activity we chose to do was boogie boarding, and our kids loved it. Overall, great value for the money, and we would do it again.

Mazatlan tour and Stone island

June_L, Oct 2024
David & Benjamin we're both very personable and kind when we were confused about our Excursion LOL Ty

NOT Accessible!

Jane_W, Oct 2024
This is NOT an accessible excursion. Please do not book if you or someone in your party is mobility limited. Our driver, David, was wonderful. The rest was horrid. If you are looking for a Mr. Sancho’s, you are in the wrong place. Card tables on the beach, bad food, no pool. There was liquor, but very limited mixers.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Hello Jane, thank you for reviewing our tour. About your husband Randy with mobility isues, I contacted you days before the tour if he was able to get on and off the wheelchair, to what you answerd yes. You and Randy got the front seats so you could be more confortable and I was getting the wheelchair on and off the vehicle on every stop. At the restaurant, I offered the option of a table at the deck so you wouldn't have to walk on the sand, Randy said it was ok, so you got a table on the beach. It is a beach front restaurant, so there is not a pool, but you are 20 feet away from the water. Jane, the limited drinks were enough to get Randy Drunk, we had to carry him to get him on and of the wheelchair, I remember the last cup of drink he had for the road, was pure vodka, I know because I had to help him get on the truck back to the catamaran. I went around your table asking if you needed anything, and you keept telling me everything was excellent.

Best Excursion Ever!

brandy_s, Oct 2024
David our tour guide was amazing and everyone was so accommodating to our every want! Will definitely come back on our next visit!

Awful experience

Shawna_B, Oct 2024
Tour guide David was amazing. Resort is not a resort, they don’t supply towels so take yours from cruise line. Food was awful so eat lots before. Cliff divers was cool, cathedral was amazing. This is not an ADA excursion so be prepared. You go by van to sight see, then a boat across the ocean to another Mexican Cadillac lol then to the beach area. The horse back riding was awful guide stayed behind while the horses did there thing lol , banana boat was fun. Coco loco is full of lots of alcohol Just take your chances lol

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Hello Shawna, thank you for taking a few minutes to write a review about our tour. About it, on the specifications we do not mention that we will go to a hotel but to a beach front restaurant at an island. We are working on providing towels for free at the restaurant, so far we only offer them for $5 usd. We are not ADA certified, but we try our best to make you feel confortable if you inform us at the beginning of the tour, like you did, and this is why, Michael, your companion, had one of the front seats with easy access to the vehicle, same as we did for Jane and Randy, that had a foldable wheelchair with them, you had the front seats. Horses for the activity had donde the ride for years, so they already know where to go, we send a guide with the ride just to check nothing different happens or if anyone needs assistance, we apologize if it wasn´t as you expected. And as we inform at the beginning of the tour, coco loco will have a mix of: tequila, vodka, rum, and that you have to be careful with the coco loco. We appreciate your review, and will take note.

Good value for the cost

Terry_C, Sep 2024
Tour guide was friendly, boat ride was fun, excellent activities. Food was okay but one of my friends got sick (she had the fish). All in all good value for the money.

Best tour!

Bianca_B, Sep 2024
This was the best tour! This was one of our port days during our cruise. The communication was great and really accommodating to our hours as well as pick up and drop off locations. Our tour guide was amazing and made the whole experience visiting Mazatlan that much more special. I highly recommended taking this tour you will not be disappointed.
