You need to be physically fit enough to climb up the valley
Carry cash with you as there are plenty of souks as you go up which I didn’t expect. it’s like a market up. Also the restaurant we ate lunch didn’t accept card

Thank you for your kind review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the amazing views of the valley and that the experience was worth visiting. It is also great to know that our driver and guide were helpful and polite, and that the guide assisted you during the climb. Your advice about being prepared and carrying cash will certainly help future travelers. We hope to welcome you again soon in Morocco.

We were moved from bus to bus and when we finally set off an hour late on bus no 4, it was only 100 m from our hotel. First stop was a really isolated shop with overpriced argan products. Next stop, we were all bundled into a restaurant where we had to pay about £12 for a set menu when there were much nicer and cheaper restaurants nearby. The trip was supposed to take 5 hours but we arrived back at 6pm, nine hours of which at least 4 hours were spent waiting around. Dire

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations.
Please note that this is a shared group tour, and hotel pick-ups are arranged from different locations across Marrakech. For this reason, guests are collected from various areas and gathered before departure, which can take additional time, even if your hotel was close to the final meeting point.
The stops mentioned, including the argan cooperative and lunch stop, are part of the itinerary of this excursion. However, lunch is not included in our package, and guests are always free to choose another restaurant nearby if they prefer, as there are several options available in the area.
Regarding the duration, the Ourika Valley is located at a considerable distance from Marrakech. The round-trip driving time alone is close to 3 hours, excluding stops and free time. For this reason, it is not possible for this excursion to last only 4–5 hours, and the overall timing is in line with what is required for this destination.
We appreciate your feedback, as it helps future travelers better understand the nature of shared excursions.

I was promised a pick up. Then told to go somewhere else to take bus at 9 and was picked up at 920 AM
No one answered ta call .. Viator asking me to call them ..
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Eva,
Thank you for your feedback. We would like to clarify that the pickup could not take place directly from your riad because it is located inside the Medina, where the narrow streets make it impossible for vehicles to enter. Our team contacted you in advance and provided a nearby meeting point just a few minutes away, which is the standard procedure for accommodations inside the Medina.
On the day of your trip, our team assisted you via email until you met your driver. The slight delay in the pickup time was due to traffic conditions, but your driver did meet you shortly after. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
We truly appreciate your understanding and would be happy to welcome you again in the future, with an even smoother and better-organized pickup process.
Best regards,
Manager

It was a good experience but I think tour guide and client communication were lacking. Also I felt a lot of the stops were for us to get in and out and purchase. I did appreciate going to the Berber house and walking up the hill in the Ourika Valley. Our tour guide spoke 3 languages and explained the olive trees, the earthquake and clay harvesting. Our supposed last stop was the restaurant by the river and it wasn't very good and the price was not worth the quality. The tour guide at certain stops such as the store, restaurant or argan oil shop did not communicate how long we should take and where the bus will be when we are back. One time I didn't know the whole group was in the bus, I was waiting for them and someone had to come tell me.
We also almost did not go to the waterfalls because the restaurant was supposed to be our last stop and our whole group voted to see the falls, it took awhile to gather everyone as there was no time expectation at that restaurant, everyone finished their meals at different times and we weren't sure what was going to happen after. The tour guide seemed to be just standing around and not doing much just waiting until someone, not sure if it was the tour group informed that last family that everyone is done.
Anyways, I had fun with the people on this tour group! Including the two Chileans and the French mom and daughters.

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed visiting the Berber house and walking up the hill in the Ourika Valley, and that you appreciated learning about the olive trees, earthquake, and clay harvesting. It’s also great to know that you enjoyed the company of your fellow travelers!
We sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration regarding communication during the stops and at the restaurant. Your comments are very helpful, and we will review them with our guides to ensure clearer instructions on timing, meeting points, and expectations at each stop. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the balance of sightseeing versus shopping-focused stops, and the quality of the restaurant experience.
We are always striving to improve, and your feedback will help us make future tours smoother and more enjoyable for everyone. Thank you again for joining the tour and for sharing your thoughts—we hope to welcome you on another tour in the future!

A rip off by the organiser, I would recommend people to travel there on their own.. The tour guard took us to shops that are 10x expensive than normal . It is a waste of money and time. I think they should be picking people up and drop them to do their own thing not taken them to where they are going to be ripped off. They also took us to a place to eat, they charge 120dh per person but next door charge only 60dh for the same dish was not not great a lot of the people couldn't eat it but still have to pay. They took us straight to this place as soon as we got there they give us no chance to look around they just this is where we are having lunch. It is as if you have to choice . It is not right this is stealing by trick .
Response from Host, Dec 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Please note that visits to the old markets are an integral part of our tour itinerary, as they offer a unique cultural experience. While our guides may suggest certain shops, purchasing any products is entirely at the discretion of our customers. We always encourage our guests to make their own choices regarding what and where to buy.
Regarding meals, we select restaurants to ensure quality, convenience, and hygiene, but customers are never obligated to eat anything they do not wish to. Our aim is to provide a structured and safe experience while giving guests the opportunity to explore and enjoy the local culture.
We appreciate your feedback and will continue to review our procedures to ensure a positive experience for all travelers.

A great day trip with interesting stops and a nice hike. On the viator site it says a 5 hour tour, however, one should expect a full day tour from 9am-6pm. Also, in the description it could be spelled out, that there are several stops where locals present their product and how they're made before reaching the main stop: the hike to the waterfall, starting around 1pm.
We had a nice driver, and an experienced local berber guide to take us to the waterfall. It all felt very safe (bring hiking shoes/sneakers). It was beautiful to sit by the water and eat lunch, though the food wasn't fantastic. Additionally, a huge compliment to the operator: we booked the tour in the evening the day before, and they still managed to pick us up on point at our riad.
All in all to be recommended and definitely a good price!

Most Terrible experience in my life. Description says free pickup from Marrakesh hotels, tour operator asked for extra 400 dirham, obviously I did not agree for that and sayd that I will be waiting at my hotel 9am. 15 min before departure operator messaged me that basically the tour is cancelled for me as I didn't agreed to pay extra. Wow. Do not buy fltours from this cheaters. Use private tours, they are cheaper and they are more responsible. Don't use agency's in Marakech.Btw I am still waiting for my refund confirmation, feels like I will have to contact bank for refund.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Dear Ketija
We have notified you that your hotel is located outside Marrakech and there is a supplement to pay in order to arrange the pick and drop off. We also gave you the option to arrange your own transportation to our meeting point in Marrakech however we did not get any reply. Reviews are to share your tour experience with fellow travellers. For your information, we have been awarded excellent certificate for the last 5 years foe our excellent customer service record. The 400 dirham covers the pick up and drop off from your hotel outskirt of Marrakech.

Great experience! The driver was on time and very kind. We stopped at an Argon Oil Cooperative where another young man told us about the plants they use to create all natural medicines. Then we got back into the car and drove to the mountains where we met another guide who took us up the mountain. Considering I took my aging parents with me, the guide helped us up and down the mountain, constantly holding ours hands to help us. The view was beautiful and we finished off the trip with a lunch with our young driver who then drove us back to the hotel. It was Great!

Thank you for your honest feedback , we are happy to hear that our service did met your expectations .
we look forward to welcome you again to Morocco

Not as described involved a 1.5 hour trekk up hill over rocks and rivers to see a waterfall. I was only wearing slip on sandals so had to stop about half way as it was to dangerous. I think we were actually sent on a different tour of the valley than this one.
Brian B, Sep 2015
On collection at 9am we found ourselves, three of us ,the only people on this tour. Our driver spoke no English so we sat in the van for one and a half hours talking to ourselves. On arrival at the Valley we were handed over to a 'guide' with 'this is your guide'. Not quite sure what to expect we went with him, a pleasant local lad who could speak English. We then climbed/hiked a 1000metres up the valley to get to the first waterfall, this included going over the river in places, climbing a ladder, up over the rocks some of which were very slippery, fortunately our guide was good and helped us a lot. We then stopped and were able to get a drink. My daughter then went on further to higher waterfalls but my husband and I couldn't cope with more climbing. None of us had appropriate shoes, mine had no grip, were ruined and ended up in the bin! After finally reaching our starting point we were taken to a restaurant but none of us felt like eating as we were too tired and hot. On the way up we saw local wild Monkeys. The 'free time to stroll around this beautiful scenery of palm and fruit trees' was none existant as we didn't see any'. On sitting in the restaurant for a rest before setting off again we tried to 'tip' the guide, but weren't quite sure of how much because the tour info just said local guide not included. However he then asked for 100 DHMAR each, ie 300. Maybe not a fortune but we weren't expecting this, no mention had been made of the amount, and we luckily just had enough money to pay. We enjoyed our trip and had to laugh about it but it no way lived up to the information given to us, we weren't prepared properly, it cost more than we expected, the drive back was in silence again, arriving back eventually at 2pm we were tired, hungry and disappointed as we felt that we had been taken for fools.

The purpose of the excursion was beautiful, but the guide did not respect the physical capacity of the participants and made hiking dangerous during the ascent and descent of the mountain

To see absolutely but you must know that we can eat where we want no obligation to go or the driver drops us essential detail that we did not know and that makes all the difference
The driver was execrable dangerous on the road and bordering on aggression with female genteel: a shame!

The stages of the break are simple shops and not the representation of the craftsmanship of the sector. The restaurant is very expensive and have eaten very badly 300 MAD with obligation of a menu. Excursion in the Atlas to the falls with water passage and slippery rocks. Despite my sports benches I slipped on an old rock bed of the river, I was very lucky to be distributed with hematoma.
