We booked this trip last minute and thought it would be a nice way to spend our last night in Marrakesh...how wrong we were! We were picked up about 15 minutes later than we should have been, but these things happen, and we were fine with this. We assumed that the people alreday sitting in the mini bus were on our tour. However, we ended up driving around and dropping people off that were already on the mini bus back at their hotels after another trip. We were told by the guide that we would then be picking up other guests which were on our trip, and so the mini bus pulled over in the city a few times but no one seemed to get collected. We were then told that the other guests we had been waiting for had already been picked up and on their way to the camp which seemed strange and a bit unorganised. We were told after some time on the mini bus that we would be going to get a 'snack', which turned out was an argan oil cooperaive This was not mentioned in the trip description and we had already had 2 other visits to other cooperatives, and given it was only the two of us in the mini bus we should have been able to give this a miss. After the trip to the cooperative we turned back on ourselves slightly and starting going off road to the camp. We eventually got to the camp just before sunset, however, there as some discussion with one of the workers and the guide asked if we wanted a camel ride and I said no, and explained we had not booked a camel ride. The mini bus was then turned around and we were heading back the way we had come...by this point we have been in the minibus for over an hour! I had to ask what was going on, and to be honest, it was as clear as mud. The guide mentioned something about how this wasn't the right camp! The guide said we were going to another camp where the rest of our party were (makes very little sense as to how he didn't know that to begin with, when he was speaking to some one on the phone to confirm he was no longer picking them up from marrakech). When I asked if we would be at the other camp before sunset he said yes. The next minute, the bus is stopping and the guide is asking me to get out and take photos of the sunset otherwise we will miss it! So our sunset experience was stood next to the mini bus and taking a few pics. When we got back on to the main road, the guide said that he was getting out and it was just me, my husband and the driver. We were then at the mercy of the driver for approx 45 minutes until we got to the next camp. So in total we were in the mini bus for 2 hours and saw the sunset from the side of the van! The second 'camp' was a compound in the desert, unlike the first camp which was at the top of a hill and all open so that you can actually see the desert. The driver wanted to leave and so spoke to another guide about bringing us home. The only thing that saved this trip was the guide who bought us home, who came up to us during dinner to make sure we were OK, as we were getting concerned that we were going to be left behind! The meal was not 3 courses as stated in the listing, it was starter and main with no dessert, and the entertainment was poor, apart from the guy doing the fire show at the end. Overall, it was a waste of time and money, and I have requested a refund which viator have declined as the seller does not want to provide a refund (of course they wouldn't!). I thought the whole point of viator was so that you had the added protection as a customer in case anything goes wrong...obviously not!

Very average experience....

Very average experience. You get what you pay for, fair enough it's only like £16-17 quid. Found out 5 minutes after I was supposed to be picked up where I actually needed to be for pick up and that was only because I WhatsApp message them. Spent 40 minutes drinking tea and learning about argan oil which I didn't know was in the tour. Arrived at the camel ride after sunset and waited for half an hour to then ride a camel in the dark. Food at the end was very average with tourists dancing to loud annoying music in the background. The fire show was impressive for about the 15 minutes it lasted. Better to spend a bit more money on a better tour or just go out in town. Not my cup of tea, although the mint tea was delicious.

From start to finish Taaroj and the company were very helpful. They picked us up from an area outside the pickup zone for no extra charge and constantly kept us updated on what was happening en route. Stopped at an Argan Oil hut first where they showed us the process of making it and if you want to buy some you can do and there were no pushy sales tactics. We all enjoyed the venue, food and entertainment. You can buy snacks and drinks onsite so make sure to take cash with you as they dont take card payment there. Thank you to the driver aswell. I would definatly recommend these guys if your looking for a excursion to the Agafay Desert.

This tour was so much fun! Absolutely a must when you visit - the guides were incredible helping us with everything from pictures to capture the perfect moments. We loved the camel ride, the camp was absolutely breathtaking, the local cuisine was perfect, the music, the fire show and the whole vibe was hot like fire.

Has potential, but needs better planning

This tour has a lot of potential, but currently lacks thought out structure. We did not add the option of the ATV vehicle, but we were placed in a group where everyone had. We had to sit out in a tent for 2 hours until everyone finished. The tour also picked us up at 15:30 and dropped us off at 22:50 which made for a longer day. The fire show, camel ride, and music were great. Be sure to pack a scarf with you as a face covering in case it super windy in desert.

Please read if you use the same guys we did. The actual experience of stopping and watching oils being made and it explained,riding a camel and the evening food with entertainment was amazing. Unfortunately the provider we used left us hanging around for nearly 2 hours we originally booked for a 15.30 trip as we had two young children with us but shortly after had a what's app message saying 1600 then it was 16.30 and finally 1700 and was picked up approx 1720 not fun when we could of spent more time round the pool entertaining your children rather then sat in reception. At the end of the night the provider tried getting us to pay and 200 cash saying our hotel was out the area even though all was excepted through the app I refused to pay and was still taken home alot later then originally booked but still got back alright. I'd probably read more reviews next time as the wasn't a very good experience using this company. But there is lots and lots of other doing the same trip.

We had an absolutely brilliant time on our Agafay Desert adventure! From start to finish, everything was perfectly organised and truly memorable. Our guide Doja was fantastic – friendly, professional, and full of knowledge. She made us feel welcome and made sure everything ran smoothly. The sunset camel ride was peaceful and scenic – a magical way to take in the desert landscape as the sun dipped behind the hills. Then came the quad biking, which was thrilling! We zipped through rocky tracks and open desert with just the right mix of speed and safety. I recommend to get to know the desert and have a fun time riding camel and quad bike. The pool camp came great after the desert heat and the Moroccan dinner with show already at dusk was very good. There is a bar where you can buy soft drinks, water... I recommend carrying plenty of water in the hot months.
