Absolutely exceeded our expectations, so very hands on -you did the entire babouche from start to finish, and left with a 5 star product. The teacher was very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. I have to mention Hajar, The most wonderful assistant, very funny and welcoming, gave us loads of places to visit in Morocco and took lots of lovely photos of us. We left the workshop smiling from ear to ear, what a lovely experience!

I had no idea how many pieces were in a slipper and how much glue was involved. My husband and I enjoyed making our slippers with the artisan and his assistants who spoke fluent English. We were the only ones that day and it took about two and a half hours to complete.

A brilliant morning spent with some fantastic tutors as we learned the craft of making Babouche. Gluing, cutting, designing and shaping were alll part of the experience. The day finished as the proud owner of my own pair of hand made leather babouche.

Fun and enjoyable experience

Overall, this was a very fun and enjoyable experience. The assistants spoke excellent English, and the master was very experienced and patient. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Unfortunately, we weren’t given many leather skins to choose from. With five guests, the workshop prepared only around four to five skins, with just one colored suede option, and most pieces were only large enough to make a single pair. Please also note that some photos from past workshops show stitching along the edges of the slippers, which is no longer offered (we were told it takes too much time). Now everything is via glue. As a result, the slippers didn’t turn out as aesthetically refined as they appear in those earlier photos. I may be a bit picky - I travel light, and this would be the only souvenir I bring home. Since they don’t operate on Sundays, I adjusted my entire itinerary to make it work, so I had more at stake. Overall I would still highly recommend it to others!

A must do in the city of Marrakech!

This was an absolutely phenomenal experience. It really showcases the work that goes into creating quality leather handmade products. Our guide spoke to us in phenomenal English, gave us a lot of history about Morocco and the culture, while the leather craftsman master was patient enough with my clumsy hands haha! We were given various options for leather finish and color to choose from! We were served mint tea and snacks during the entire experience ! The location was super easy to find. The workshop also hosts rug making classes and displays a wide variety of rugs that have been made by the masters there. Thank you all so much guys!

I brought my 11 year-old daughter and we both had a great time. We had a lot of fun making our very own babouche which we now have as a keepsake from our trip. The entire class was stress-free, and it was easy to follow along. There was hands-on support through each step from the very kind and helpful staff. The hospitality was great as well. We were provided bottled water, tea, and some mixed nuts and dates while we worked. The only modification/personalization was the color of the leather or suede you chose for the slipper. We were given the choice of 5 colors. Beyond that we were all following the same steps and moving at the same pace. On a side note, this was a perfect activity for a quiet morning as the energy of the medina proved to be a bit overwhelming after a couple of days. It was a nice "reset" for us while still feeling like we were learning something about Marrakech.

This was great, we loved it. (Two adults and a ten year old.) Good english spoken & cheerful relaxed attitudes. No stress. We used too much glue and laughed a lot. Glad we did it. We had a rental car & parking was also easy there at CQPAT.

The highlight of our time in Morrocco

My mom and I did this and it was a memory we will have for a lifetime. The instructor and translator were the nicest sweetest people. They were patient even though I messed up with the glue at least 3 times. The slippers were of high quality leather and I will be wearing them for a long time. I loved this and it truly was a highlight of our trip.

The workshop was above and beyond our expectations! We made a very last minute booking and they were able to accommodate us! We had a blast creating the shoes and they were so much nicer than we expected! The translator and the teachers were so patient with us and showed us every step of shoe making! It was wonderful! Such a fun class with a wonderful instructor and staff. We made the slippers 100% from scratch, got to pick from an array of different colors and did every step of the process (with a little help from the slipper master along the way). I'd highly recommend signing up for this class during your trip to Morocco. We each walked away with beautiful leather slippers to wear for years to come.
