We met our guide Alfonso at the designated meeting place just outside the old town of Malaga. Our small group of 8 people drove to Caminito del Rey with Alfonso giving us information and answering our questions. Once we arrived, we were given hard hats and a short introduction by one of the camp personnel. It was a 7.7 kilometer hike on a combination of mostly suspended-one-meter-wide wooden planks above the most stunning crevices and canyons and streams, a few stairs, a couple of intimidating hanging bridges, some gravel walkways and the most spectacular views! During this 2-hour hike, Alfonso made sure we were all doing just fine. He made us stop several times to catch our breath, drink water and take photos along the way. Once we reached the base, Alfonso prepared our picnic of cheese, ham and bread. Walked back to the parking lot then drove back to Malaga. I highly recommend this tour for families, friends, couples and even solo travelers. Gracias Alfonso!

Make sure you wear layers, we had fantastic weather but a few days beforehand it had been cold and windy so you need to be prepared. Sturdy shoes and a good head for heights. The walk around the canyons is amazing and the scenery is breathtaking. I've never experienced anything like this before, an absolute must for anyone visiting Malaga, you won't regret it.
Our guide, Alfonso, was exceptional, he kept the pace of walking just right and gave us lots of information about the history of the trail, the geology of the canyon formation, and the birds and wildlife that inhabit it. A truly fantastic experience.

Our guide was prompt, professional, and well-informed about the canyon and its history. He set a pace that everyone could maintain. The walk is mostly level, with stairs in some spots. There are railings and/or steel cables to hang on to if you’re scared like I was, or need some support on stairs or wet surfaces (it was raining). The canyon really is amazing and well worth a visit. There are a variety of surfaces, so wear sturdy shoes.

Some stairs up and down but generally fairly easy. Heights spook me so didn’t look down too much. Had my big boy pants on and did fine.

Alfonso was great. The trip in a private van with only 8 people was quick and comfortable. During the whole excursion, Alfonso was known by all the workers at CAMINITO and very knowleadeable and experienced. We enjoyed quick access, a great picnic at the end and a fast return.
Caminito del Rey is wonderful, and I highly recommended it, but please be aware that if you suffer from vertigo, are afraid of heights, and can't walk about 7 km, this excursion might not be for you.

I would give 6 stars if possible. Alfonso led us through the canyon and explained a lot about the canyon. He was kind and patient. Moved at a thoughtful pace. Communication about tour, pickups, drop offs was consistent and timely.

Wonderful excursion providing a perfect blend of a refreshing hike with spectacular vistas. The hike was invigorating, but not strenuous. It was also thrilling, but never threatening. Alfonso was a very entertaining and knowledgeable guide. The smaller group enhanced the overall enjoyment of the excursion.

It was great to go in a small group and with an experienced, calm and competent guide like Alfonso. It was a bit windy and rainy for some of the walk, but I never felt like I was in any danger at any point of the walk. It’s a fairly easy and very gorgeous 3-hour adventure that I highly recommend.

If you go to Malaga you MUST do this trip.
The Caminto Del Rey is completely breathtaking - even more so than in the photos on the web. It looks super-scary but in fact the walkway is really solid and safe and it's pretty easy going.
Our guide Alfonso was superb, and added a huge amount of insight to the walk.
All in all a great, very well organised day.

Fantastic experience - my best in Spain. The views from the cliff side path were by far the best. Guide was great and explained history, rock formation and wildlife along the way. The picnic lunch was a nice touch at the end of the walk.

What a wonderful time! Alfonso was a great guide. He was personable, very informative and made the time enjoyable. The Caminito del Rey is a unique experience. The walk is about 7.5 km, but it's not strenuous. At the end of the walk, Alfonso gathered us up and provided a tasty lunch. I would highly recommend this tour with Alfonso.
