Overview
Swap the busy streets of Malaga for the natural landscapes of Caminito del Rey, a path once considered one of the most dangerous trails in the world. Following a reconstruction, this walkway reopened in 2015 and is now safe and accessible to all—its mountain scenery is some of the most stunning in Andalucia. Follow your guide along a route suspended over 328 feet (100 meters) without worrying about getting lost, and cross the canyon on a suspension bridge. Plus, stop in a charming Andalusian town along the way.
- Letting someone else drive you means you can relax
- Listen to facts about the place as you walk through the natural canyons
- Discover more about local geography and culture than you would alone
- Stop at a typical white Andalusian town for coffee or a bathroom break

The walk is spectacular and the drive there gives you a taste of the beautiful countryside and villages of the area.
Pedro the tour organiser was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The guide on the walk was engaging too. I will definitely revisit the area and do this walk again.

Caminito del Rey should be in everybody’s bucket list. The 5.7 miles are an amazing experience. I recommend to bring retractable walking sticks to those over 60 or a little afraid of falling. You can use the sticks on the grounds parts of the hike. Once you start the trail over the canyon you are not allowed to use anything other that your backpack and your camera. Pedro our guide was an excellent guide. He gave the tour in English and Spanish and did an excellent job. Thank you Pedro for giving us a great experience!!

Tour was rushed. Asked to not take photos and to keep up with group! Then on 3 occasions we were told we had to wait whilst other groups went ahead. Obviously if we had been able to take photos and enjoy the scenery we would not have had to wait 5 minutes each time to let groups ahead pass through. Disappointed over all and sadly for the money spent would have expected a more polished tour

Beautiful trip stunning scenery and walk . The group leader was really helpful and provided interesting information.

The walk is doable for any age group. The walks reputation is overrated, it’s not scary or dangerous at all. Would have liked a tad more danger.

Tour was amazing start to finish. They communicated well and very accommodating to everybody. Our tour guides on the bus and on the trail were excellent. A must do if you are in the region.

Long but the hike was out of this world! Tour guides were great. What a special place. Spoke English

The tour was excellent. Very well organized with a very comfortable bus ride that included a stop in a small white town where I was able to get a quick lunch. The walk is easy to do and because I went in the afternoon, it was mostly shaded.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity to walk along side a cliff with beautiful views.
Both the guide that took us there, Miguel, and the on-site guide were wonderful
I highly recommend this adventure.

Very well organised by Maria. Everything was clear and safe and controlled. The canyon is just stunning it's well worth the visit
Sonya_H, May 2026
Our guide Robert at Caminito was funny and reassured me of safety along the way. The views are stunning. The trail was not as hard as I thought it would be. Im not an overly fit person but I was able to do the whole trail. Janet our guide on the bus had loads of information about the area and was clear in her directions.

The walk on the caminito is fantastic. The Viator guide was pleasant but doesn't do much more than shepherd. The Camanito guide has to deal with a group of 30 and the earbud radios lose contact unless you hustle to keep up. Totally worth it in spite of these details. The weather was perfect in May. Later in the summer it would be even busy and furnace hot.

We had a fantastic trip from Malaga to Caminito del Rey. Our guide Maria was absolutely amazing — she made sure nobody was left behind and organized everyone into language groups, which made the whole experience smooth and comfortable. We really felt taken care of throughout the day.
The meeting point was clearly described and very easy to find. There was also a convenient stop in a beautiful town near Caminito del Rey for a quick break, coffee, and snacks before the hike.
Maria shared interesting information during the trip, kept everything well organized, and created a friendly atmosphere for everyone. The Caminito del Rey itself was breathtaking and definitely worth visiting. Highly recommend this tour if you’re staying in Malaga!

This was a fantastic tour! Everyone in our group loved it. Our guide Maria was so helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable. A must do!!
Claudette_L, May 2026
This was a magnificent walking hike of 3.5 hours with a tour guide through wooden walkways and forest paths. The main challenge is the high narrow walkways. It is equipped with sturdy handrails and you are required to wear a helmet. This not for you if you have height issues or if you don't like hanging bridges.

Great day out. Well organised and a simply wonderful experience. A tick on the bucket list thats not to be missed in your lifetime.

Wow this is a breathtaking experience. A long trip but so worth it. A very well organised experience from start to finish.
We had a delay due to the coach before having some issues but although we set off later than the advertised time we still got there for our booked time and still managed to stop off at Ardales which we initially thought we would miss. Miguel, our MSE guide was very knowledgeable and kept us well informed. The guide on the walk was also very knowledgeable and he was really supportive of my fear of heights and gave me some tips on how to deal with it (I didn’t get his name). Would thoroughly recommend this trip.

Overall great tour. Modern bus and headphones that actually worked. Geal our guide was very helpful and energetic. The hike isn’t easy but doable with a modest fitness level. Definitely a must do if you are in the Malaga area.

I loved my tour through Viator to hike Caminito Del Rey! Our guide Tina was so kind and encouraging! I learned so much!! The excursion was so prompt with the times! We made it back to the ship with time to spare! 10:30 am pick up with drop off at about 5:10 pm. The hike was gorgeous!!! I highly recommend!!

Awesome experience
Lots of walking and breath taking scenery
Ana the Viator bus tour made it fun.
Tina the Camineto del Rey tour guide was awesome and very informative. We had an awesome experience.
If you have bad knees and afraid of heights... Think twice.
Mark_B, May 2026
Fantastic scenery and walk. Janet did a great job of moving some of the slow walkers who really should not have been on the tour. It is a good walk and if you have a walking stick or cannot climb steps quickly then don’t book this tour.
Alice_M, May 2026
Very beautiful experience, well organized.
Claudia was a great guide with interesting explanations during the tour.

Great experience walking the Caminito Del Rey. All ran to time and instructions etc were really clear. Laura was a great guide and we had a great driver.
Kathy_L, Apr 2026
Cristobal was our guide and we really enjoyed him. He kept the group moving and together. Janet was the guide on the bus and gave us a lot of information along the way. She also did a great job making sure everyone was on the bus.
Barbara_F, Apr 2026
The walk is wonderful and worth seeing but the trip is very dragged out with too much waiting at the first town we stopped at and at the end. Could be done in half the time.
Pamela_W, Apr 2026
Laura was a wonderful tour guide. Provided clear description of what to expect, where to meet etc with humor. Stopped at a pretty little village before arriving at the trail. Challenging trail but very doable. Very interesting history. Great day trip. Well organized from start to finish. Highly recommend.
