Puente Nuevo (New Bridge) is located in the town of Ronda in southern Spain. The bridge spans El Tajo Gorge and connects La Ciudad (Ronda’s old Moorish town) with El Mercadillo (Ronda’s modern commercial side). It spans 217 feet (66 meters) from side to side and 322 feet (98 meters) from top to bottom.

The Puente Nuevo was built to replace an earlier bridge at the same spot, which collapsed in 1741, just seven years after its construction, killing 50 people. Construction of Puente Nuevo started in 1759 and was completed in 1793. It is made of solid blocks of stone and features three arches.
