Very Disappointing Experience – Poor Organization and Unreliable Tour Operator

We booked this cruise expecting a well-organized 5-day trip, but the experience fell far short of expectations. From the very first day, we noticed serious disorganization: the felucca ride was canceled without any explanation, we were initially checked in on the wrong boat, and the next boat left Luxor unexpectedly—with no prior notice. When we asked the tour operator, we received a vague excuse about another boat catching fire and were told to “look it up in the news.” That incident had actually occurred more than a week earlier and had nothing to do with our trip, as confirmed by the cruise staff. The operator also claimed that the cruise itself was a replacement for the felucca ride, which made no sense at all. As a result, the entire program of Day 2—a highlight of this tour—was canceled. We missed the hot air balloon ride, Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari, and Colossi of Memnon. That same day, the operator told us that the tour was actually one day shorter than advertised. Based on this information, we changed an existing booking and reserved an additional hotel for the supposed “extra day” so we could return to Luxor to visit the West Bank on our own. Then, on the last night, they informed us that the tour was actually a 5-day itinerary after all (though with no scheduled program in Aswan). By that point, it was too late to cancel our other bookings, and despite this clear mistake, the operator never took responsibility or offered any refund for this mistake. To make matters worse, in Kom Ombo the guide never showed up. The operator later blamed us for missing the meeting, even though we arrived 25 minutes early and waited until the agreed time. We strongly suspect they provided the wrong meeting time. Overall, the tour operator’s organization was chaotic and unprofessional. Communication was poor, the schedule changed constantly, and we were left feeling uncomfortable and frustrated throughout. We were honestly relieved when the cruise finally ended.

Cruising the Nile on the Luxor - Aswan stretch is a must for those seeking history and culture. The activities were amazing, the places we visited lack comments. The structure of the cruise was very good, comfortable, the entire crew offers quality services to the guests. Our guides were also amazing, always very attentive and kind, with a lot of knowledge to share, enriching the experience, I would mention them nominally, Mohammed in West Bank Luxor, Ahmed in Edfu and Kom Ombo, Rinet in Aswan and Mahmoud Ismail in Abu Simbel, thank you all for the assistance, education and information. Great experience, unforgettable!!!
