Despite overcast conditions, I had a lovely time hiking down from the top to the spa via a route that I devised from the free map, with great views around every bend, cows and goats ringing their bells all the while. And the spa was a wonderful, refreshing, rejuvenating complement to the hours on the trails. Great day in the Alps.

The boatride from Lucerne to Vitznau was very scenic. From there we took the mountain train up to Mt. Rigi. The views were fantastic & provided ample opportunity to take GREAT photos while touring the mountain top. Next, we descended partway back down to Kaltbad, where we had a terrific lunch at restaurant Alpina - traditional Swiss dish rosti. We also got some barley w/herbs soup. Both were super delicious. We think this is the only actual restaurant there, other than a grab-n-go. Next we spent about one hour at the Kaltbad spa., lounging in the warm pools. Just be advised that cameras & phones are not allowed in the spa areas, so don't think you can take a picture of the mountains from the pool like you see in the advertisements. That was a bit of a letdown for us. Finally we made back down for the boatride back to Lucerne. Be advised, as of this review the boat dock at Weggis was under construction, so we needed to take a bus from Weggis to Hertenstein to catch the boat back to Lucerne. I was disappointed that Viator did not update us on this issue. The only way I found out about it was by talking to the boat's ticket checker during our ride to Vitznau. I was actually asking her about return times to Lucerne & she was kind enough to advise us that we'd need to board the boat at Hertenstein (or make our way back to Vitznau, which was further away when we come down off the mountain). We ran into some other Americans while heading down the mountain & they had no idea that Weggis was closed. I firmly that they may have missed the boat ride back to Lucerne had they not ran into us. As this was our first excursion, I'd say the biggest hurdle was understanding (and planning around) the various schedules (boat, train, bus). I can see scenarios where someone could get stuck out there and have to spend the night in a hotel if they're not savvy about the timelines and how they all interplay. Nonetheless it was a really enjoyable excursion & well worth your time.

Absolutely loved the experience. Worth every penny. I will say that there needs to be a bit more details provided with the transit. We got off the cogwheel and had no idea where how to get to the boat. Which was extra problematic since I was with my mom who uses a cane so us traces up and downhill searching for where to go was pretty bad. We barely made the last ride back. All in all great time but there is room for small improvements.

Boat wouldn’t allow us to use this ticket argued that we needed a separate ticket to take the boat to Vitznau from Lucern.
took the cogwheel train and they also couldn’t scan the ticket, but they were kind enough to let us go anyways.
The spa was super busy and over crowded.
Nothing is open on Sundays- so very few options for coffee and food! The. we took the cable car down and it was so packed we could t see anything
Worst tour ever! I have taken dozens of tours and would t recommend this one.
Get your own tickets, and do your own thing!

Fantastic experience using the Mineralbad Spa (although shame about the rain clouding our view) and all the transport went smoothly, even using our Viator issued e-ticket. Highly recommend going back via the Weggis cable car (the views were amazing once the sun came out) and checking the latest timetable for each transport link.

A great way to see Mt Rigi without the hassle! This day was full of beauty. The cruise to the base of Mt Rigi is breathtaking. The cable car provides stunning views, as does the top of Mt Rigi. The spa was cool! Also - Viator and the tour operator for this experience were super helpful. I got the day mixed up for our ticket. I was able to get a full refund and book for the correct day. Excellent customer service!

Since there is no instruction in terms of how to take the boob sled down the hill and where to get off and how to use the trains. I think you are to include that.

The cruise was beautiful, the ride up very dramatic and breathtaking can't beat the beauty. The spa incredible. It was great to have the flexibility to spend the maximum time there. Across-the-board a well rounded and memorable trip.

We had the BEST day on Mt Rigi….Vitznau train to Rigi Kulm, breathtaking scenery/views, loved hearing the cow bells, easy hike down to Rigi Staffel, relaxing mineral water pools at Rigi Kaltbad, cable car down to Weggis. Start & ended day on beautiful boat ride on Lake Lucerne. Highly recommend!

I called Viator at around 10 a.m. to ask for help because I could't find my email to download the ticket inside the boat. They told me they would help me and call me back. And if I had to pay for the boat they would refund me. It's now 22h03 in the evening and all day I never received a call back. What a disgrace!!!

Self-guided tour allowed us to go at our own pace, spend time at the top of Mt. Rigi and enjoy the amazing views. Kaltbad spa was the best mineral baths we have ever visited; we spent two hours relaxing in the waters. All of the transportation was on time and the transitions were easy to navigate. We ended the day with a cable car ride down to Weggis and a late lunch at the lake. Will recommend this tour to all our friends.

This was an outstanding day. Everything was easy to figure out, plenty of time for each portion of the tour and a great mix of activities. The walk to the spa took a full hour but the snow was deep and we took our time. Beautiful scenery!!!

The ride up on the cogwheel railroad and then the hike down to the spa from the top of Mt. Rigi...just a word of caution...the hike downhill is difficult especially when you might have knee or hip problems...it takes about 60 minutes with no stops. Also, the cable car ride down to Weggis is great but make sure at the bottom near Lake Lucerne that you go to the correct boat dock which is to your right so you get the correct boat back to the city!!

The incredible views of precipitous snow capped mountains, hills dotted with neat houses and the mirror-like lakes. These painted memories that will last as some of our favourite views that we have ever seen. It was so special that it was really hard to take in. We both kept saying that we had to pinch ourselves!
This tour was remarkable because we set the place. No ear pieces and demands to keep up. Just the two of us drinking in unforgettable signs. The combination of cruising along the lake, slipping up steep slopes in the cog train then the adrenaline rush of the precipitous cable car back to the lake were all so different and each so worthwhile. All of this at our own pace and complemented by a delicious lunch in the sunshine on the shores of Lake Lucerne. Incredible!

The experience was very easy as far as getting to where we needed to be. It was great to not have a schedule - we could do this at our own pace. The cable car experience from Kaltbad to Weggis was very very crowded - packed in like sardines so if you’re last to get on (like us) you have absolutely no view except your neighbor’s armpit. 🫤 That could have been done much better in my opinion. Otherwise the views were breathtaking from the top and lake is very beautiful from the boat.

We were in awe with the views, since we got the cruise from Luzern. From the peak we hiked back to the spa to chill and relax. The schedule is sufficient to enjoy all of it.
