Not a guided tour. A lovely trip around the lake on a beautiful boat! Only takes an hour. Nice transport to the Stoos train!
Not a tour, just a trip back-and-forth across the lake to drop people off at another event. We had perfect weather and perfect views of everything.
Basically a ferry shuttle service to a resort but great if you only have less than an hour to spend on a lake trip.
This is a very relaxing scenic and pleasant trip. No effort needed and great option for those that may be a little concerned with riding a gondola or cog railroad up a mountain. The views were great.
We were herded on the ship like sheep. I paid for this tour yet. No one bothered to check my ticket so I could’ve just walked on so technically I lost money. The view was nice and it did show you a different side because you were on the water.

We would, however, like to clarify the point regarding the ticket. The ticket is not purchased for the ticket inspection itself, but for the cruise and the service provided. Ticket checks are carried out on board during the journey rather than when guests board the vessel. Especially during the current high season, when we welcome significantly more guests than at other times of the year, it can happen that not every passenger is checked individually. In these situations, we also rely on the honesty and consideration of our guests to ensure that they have a valid ticket.
We are sorry if the boarding process felt uncomfortable or overly crowded. During the high season, larger numbers of guests can unfortunately make the boarding experience busier than usual, but we always strive to make the process as smooth and pleasant as possible.

The lake is very beautiful and is a must-visit if you’re planning to visit Lucerne. The luxury boat was a lovely bonus during our walk by the lake.
This a shuttle, not a cruise! I would not recommend it for anybody that wants to do a nice circle around a part of the lake

For a more extensive cruise around Lake Lucerne, we recommend our Small or Large Lake Cruise, or our one-hour Discovery Tour, which offer a more comprehensive experience on the lake.
We were glad to finally board after successfuly buying a one hour return cruise from Luzern. Sadly the hour was boring. No recorded message from a tourist guide. No provision on board for cold beverage, snacks even. No more one hour "cruises" for us.
This is a ferry. There is a modest discount. It’s a pleasant way to see the lake, but nothing special.
Would recommend seeing the lake as part of a visit to Rigi, Pilatus or one of the other sites.

For a more extensive cruise around Lake Lucerne, we recommend our Small or Large Lake Cruise, or our one-hour Discovery Tour, which offer a more comprehensive experience on the lake.
Would be more enjoyable if you familiarized yourself with the local landmarks beforehand so you know what you’re seeing. One hour felt a bit too short.
The boat tour did not have any commentary or information during the cruise. The Catamaran is very nice. BUT people should know that this tour is covered FREE with a Swiss Rail Pass or by hotels in the area who provide a free pass for buses, cruises. So we paid for a tour with Viator which was free with our passes. Viator should warn you when booking. Very disappointed.

Starting next summer, we will once again offer our Panorama Cruise with an audio guide. We would be delighted to welcome you on board again for that experience.
That is correct, this cruise is included free of charge with the Swiss Travel Pass. However, hotels do not provide complimentary tickets.
As a Swiss Travel Pass holder, we recommend checking directly with the respective providers to see whether other excursions or services are included or available at a reduced rate with the Swiss Travel Pass.
Please contact Viator Customer Care and provide them with a copy of your Swiss Travel Pass. They will then get in touch with us so that we can review whether a refund can be issued.
Great trip, views are amazing. Staff were very friendly. Catamaran is beautiful and clean. Just sit and relax, enjoy the view!
My husband and I were traveling for our honeymoon and this 1 hour cruise on Lake Lucerne was very nice. It gave us a great opportunity to see more of the lake and the surrounding areas. Staff was polite and nice. Great for different weather. They have an inside and outside area.
Nice boat tour on the lake… exactly as described… Get on the boat, ride around the lake, get off the boat. For people who don’t want to do a more adventuresome experience around Lake Lucerne, this was perfect.
It’s the perfect amount of time to be on a boat, cruising around, looking at the gorgeous SWISS Alps and charming Lucerne scenery while in comfortable seats.
Boat was very nice and ride was smooth. No commentary of sites on the water during the 1hr. It would have been nice to know some history and sites we saw.

The local host was knowledgeable and helpful during our visit. The cost was less than excursions provided by the cruise line.
If you’re into views of mountains, lakes and cities. This is great for the price. We had choppy weather at it was still a super smooth ride. Nice and slow to take everything in.
I booked this online the day before and received confirmation via email. There was a link to “get tickets” but it kept sending me in a loop to where the barcode for all 8 tickets wouldn’t load. We loaded the boat and when the person came around to scan our tickets, she told me she had to have the barcode and would not honor my confirmation email. (She said that many people purchase their tickets and then cancel them and that she couldn’t honor that). After 40 mins of trying to figure this out (the catamaran was an hour tour), we finally got the tickets to load by sending my email to another persons phone and they loaded in. There should be a way for the boat company to tap in to Viator website and see the confirmations. Needless to say, all 8 of us DID NOT ENJOY this because we were trying to rectify the situation.
There is no commentary and you can't get off boat at halfway point pier to walk around. A bit boring..
Due to upcoming rain and thunderstorms, we tried to take an earlier boat. The ticket man would not let us go. The boat was not even half full. He said we had to go at the scheduled time on our ticket. As expected it was very rainy and low clouds which blocked the stunning views. He said he could not validate our tickets. If you’re going digital, you need to look into a way to take care of issues like this! I was very disappointed!
Was precisely on time. However, there was no narrative for what you were seeing but you probably couldn’t hear it anyway because the boat was so crowded you couldn’t hear yourself talk.

It is just a boat ride around the lake with no narration on what you are seeing. Also some people had a 2 hour excursion on our boat that included a funicular ride to the top of the mountain. It would have been nice to include that option.

We’d like to mention that the option including the excursion to Bürgenstock with the funicular ride can also be booked via Viator.
Great trip to a tiny village and beautiful scenery of Lake Lucerne. Did not take the fenicular to the ski resort just walked the town.
The catamaran is very punctual so be on time. There is plenty of comfortable seating even with a full boat!
Excellent views, surroundings and experience. Please note you can alight halfway and take a venicular (steep train) to a summit. There was only one cataremaran per hour whem we went in winter so.ypu have to stay there an hour.
Great experience! Spacious catamaran and wonderful views of the alps. Well worth the money and time. It's a must for your time in Lucerne!
This was not a ‘cruise’ but more a transport to and from another town nearby - no local information - just a silent ride to and back to your pickup point. All of this is included in a Swiss pass, which I had and so paid for something that I didn’t need to pay for. The marketing is misleading on this. Save yourself the dollars.

The Bürgenstock Round Trip is designed as a short and scenic ride, perfect for a quick getaway. If you’re looking for a longer experience with more to see, we’d recommend trying our two-hour round trips from Lucerne to Vitznau or Beckenried and back to Lucerne. They offer amazing views and plenty of time to soak in the scenery.
Please send a copy of your Swiss Travel Pass to the viator support regarding a refund, unfortunately we are not able to give you a refund directly.
We booked a 1-hour catamaran cruise and we got a glorified tugboat. Workers said the catamaran was in for repairs. We weren't notified or given the option to cancel. We were disappointed that we didn't cruise on a catamaran, however the "tugboat" was sufficient to cruise on Lake Lucerne and take in all of the Lucerne beauty!
