Itinerary
Your tour begins in central Lucerne, where you greet your guide and board a climate-controlled coach destined for the scenic landscapes of Bernese Oberland.
On arrival in Interlaken, you have time for a short coffee break before the coach brings you to Grindelwald. Disembark in Grindelwald, overshadowed by the mighty Mt. First, and board a cable car destined for First Cliff Walk by Tissot.
After you absorb panoramic vistas of the Alps, purchase a bite to eat at a restaurant overlooking the bridge, and then prepare for your adrenaline levels for adventure activities such as the First Flyer zip line, mountain cart, or alpine hikes (at your own expense).
Conclude the tour with a visit to the scenic Lauterbrunnen Valley, famous for its dramatic cliffs and waterfalls, before returning to Lucerne by coach.

The sights were beautiful but the group was too large. Our guide Bernadette did a good job and was very kind. We had a bilingual group so it was somewhat difficult for the guide to organize everyone and we felt it took away from the overall experience. The stop at Interlakken was our least favorite, but Grindelwald was amazing.

I felt there were way too many people on this tour. They dropped us off in Interlaken and just told us to be back by a certain time. There was no guided tour. Same with Grindelwald. They brought us to the cable car to the first walk but didn’t tell us our options of what to do there or suggestions of what to do in town. The bus ride was fine although it was so crowded I couldn’t get a seat with my husband. I felt it was too expensive for what we got.

We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. As with other destinations in Switzerland, Mount First can be visited independently. Please note that a round trip from Lucerne to Grindelwald and Interlaken typically costs around CHF 122, with an additional CHF 72 for the mountain tickets. We believe our price is fair, considering the presence of a guide who facilitates ticket arrangements and manages the schedule.
We also regret that you expected a guided tour in each village. We would like to clarify that this is a partially guided tour, meaning that guests are accompanied from Lucerne to Interlaken and Grindelwald, and back to Lucerne. In this case, the guide went above and beyond by accompanying the group up to Mount First. As stated in the tour description on Viator, guests enjoy leisure time in Grindelwald and Interlaken. However, our guides remain available for any questions or further information you may need.
Regarding the seating arrangement, as we operate on a “first come, first served” basis, we regret that you could not sit next to your husband. In such situations, we recommend approaching the tour guide, as it is often possible to rearrange seating with the cooperation of fellow travelers.
Despite these inconveniences, we hope you were able to enjoy the stunning scenery of the Berner Oberland region and the views from the Cliff Walk at Mount First.

Wonderful experience! We were able to sightsee, shop, ride a cable car through the mountains, and see a magnificent waterfall. The highlight of the trip was the cliff walk. It was heart stopping yet exhilarating at the same time. I would rate this tour as the best one I’ve ever taken.

Well organized even though it was a multiple pickup scenario. The guides were right there to answer all our questions. A lot of walking was involved but rewards were great with stunning scenery and good food. Would refer to friends and family.

If you want an amazing view of the Swiss Alps, then this is for you. The views are spectacular. The only downside would be that we were unable to do any of the extra activities because they were all sold out by the time our tour got there.

The weather was a significant factor in my rating; however, I think it’s important to note that if it rains and is foggy, there isn’t much to do or see. The guides were very helpful, kind and gracious. Also, we didn’t realize the lines would be so long for the activities and were worried about getting back to the tour bus, so we didn’t get to do any activities. Highly recommend getting in line immediately for your top activity of choice when arriving at Mt. First, as they sell out quickly.

Regrettably, weather conditions are beyond our control, and in mountainous regions, they are particularly unpredictable. It might be cloudy or foggy in one moment, but conditions can quickly improve with a bit of wind, enhancing visibility. Therefore, we operate all our tours regardless of the weather, provided that the cable car is running and the safety of our guests is ensured.
We understand that waiting in long lines can be quite frustrating. Mt. First is one of the main highlights of Grindelwald, attracting both tourists and locals due to the variety of activities available at the summit. This inevitably leads to long waiting lines during peak times. Unfortunately, there is no special line for preordered tickets, thus, all adventure activities are optional and not included in the tour rate. Nevertheless, at the cable car station, the screens already show the estimated waiting time for each activity, which helps our guests to plan their time more effectively.
In any case, we are happy to read that you enjoyed the company of your guides, who work very hard to provide the best experience possible to all of our guests.

What a scam. I paid 157 for three tour experiences ziplining, bike/karts, and scooter However, when the shuttle picked us up from the Starbucks, we were with 4 different tour groups! This made things so confusing because our tour guide had to give separate instructions for all tour groups. The other tour groups were doing other things in different cities with different attractions, so the instructions were so confusing and not clear. Everyone was confused! Once our tour got to Mt. First, the receptionist tried to scam me by saying that my Viatour ticket was NOT valid. I explained that I made the purchase and even showed her my receipt. She finally gave us our tickets to enter Mt. First Top Adventure park. Once inside the park, it says that the wait time is 2 hours minimum to do the ziplining, so that's what we did. I waited 2 hours for the zip lining attraction, to find out that my ticket did NOT even include ziplining! So here I am again, trying to inform the gentleman that I had preexisting tickets with viator to do the ziplining. After 30 minutes on top of already waiting 2 hours to zipline, he finally allowed me to zipline. At this point I was so frustrated that I couldnt even enjoy the zipline.
After the zipline, I was on to my next bike ride which was included in the ticket, to find out that there was NO MORE TIME for the other rides. We had to leave to catch our bus shuttle, along with the other 4 groups from The Best of Switzerland. I do not recommend this tour.

This tour was the BEST TOUR ever!!!!! The zipline, go karts and scooter was such a unique way to see the gorgeous mountains! It was so much fun and unlike anything I've ever experienced!!! I give this tour 5+ stars!!!!
