Incredible experience. The tour guides were very nice and helpful (we had Andrea and Lars). We got lucky with a beautiful day so the views were stunning. The cliff walk, the ice flyer, the glacier cave, the rotair, and of course sledding were all so fun! 10/10 would recommend.

The ski experience is very elementary but fun nonetheless. We still had time to do the cliff walk and glacier cave as well. Bjorn was an awesome guide. Incredible views and the bridge isn’t as scary as it looks! It’s amazing!

Itinerary

Board your coach in central Lucerne for the scenic journey south to Engelberg, departing in the afternoon.

On arrival at this picturesque resort town situated in a valley below Mt .Titlis, your guide accompanies you inside the aerial cableway for a ride to the glacier’s 10,000-foot (3,020-meter) summit.

Take in dramatic views of the snowy Bernese Alps through panoramic windows, then disembark at the mountaintop for several hours of free time.

Perhaps start with a visit to Glacier Cave to see ice crystals in the frozen underground grotto. Admire the glacial landscape from the rotating Titlis Rotair gondola, which affords 360-degree views, or crunch along the snow on the Cliff Walk for vertigo-inducing vistas. You can gaze down at the icy depths from the Ice Flyer chairlift and hop on a snow tube at Titlis Glacier Park for downhill thrills (May–October). Admission to each acclaimed glacier attraction is included, weather-permitting.

If the brisk mountain air makes you feel hungry, replenish at one of several restaurants at the summit (own expense).

At the prearranged time, meet your guide for the descent back to Engelberg, where your coach is ready to return to Lucerne. Your tour then concludes at the original departure point.

Great experience. Beautiful afternoon on the mountain. It does not disappoint. Our guide was excellent. She was so very informative and made the trip that much more enjoyable with her knowledge. Dont be intimidated by the expansion bridge. The view on the other side is worth it.

It was ok. The guides didn’t do much besides driving us there/back and getting our tickets. You can totally do this on your own.

Enjoyable trip to Mt. Titlis from Lucerne

Arun_R, May 2026
We travelled to Mt. Titlis from Lucerne for a half-day trip (a longer tour is also offered from Zurich) with "Best of Switzerland" tours. We were fortunate to travel on a beautiful rain-free day; our journey was picturesque and the tour covered our gondola tickets all the way from Engleberg to the summit of Mt. Titlis. The mountain itself is designed for visitors with a glacier cave, an Ice flyer, a cliff walk walk and restaurants tailored to your cuisine. We had a wonderful time; the only thing that could have been better was the time allocated by our guides for their English commentary (it was 1/3rd English and 2/3rd Spanish).

Beautiful location, very helpful guides, the snow made for a different experience

Stephanie_D, May 2026
The guides were very helpful, and remained on hand through out the day, to ensure everyone got the most out of their day. The scenery was clearly beautiful, but due to the weather (which we obviously have no control over) the views were limited. This didn’t stop this trip from being a lovely experience. The snow gave it a different vibe, and actually made snow tubing a lot of fun.

It was an amazing experience! My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of this trip (even though it was very cold)! We had plenty of time to do all planned activities and still had enough free time to get a bite to eat.

Majestic Alps

Patricia_G, Apr 2026
The pickup site for the tour bus was easy to find and the ride to and from Engelberg from Lucern was without an hitch. Mt. Titlist is an amazing place to visit especially if you love snow and panoramic views of natural beauty. The views from the gondola and rotair to the summit were spectacular! And watching the skiers “bravely” wind down the slopes was awe-inspiring. At 75 years of age, I unfortunately had to skip the sledding, but having the clouds part for views of the majestic cliffs while on the suspension bridge will be an everlasting memory. Even though it was a beautiful sunny day, a hat, scarf and warm jacket were needed at the top. Being 10,000 ft high on a mountain in the Alps was an experience of a lifetime! Do it!

We came on April and the weather was amazing! Bring winter clothes cas up there is cold!🤩. Wonderful experience!

It was meh

Genevieve_W, Feb 2026
It was really cool to see the top of the mountain but I don't think it was worth money with the construction on the top of Mount Titlis. The guides were great when we did interact but their involvement was minimal. The glacier cave is not as blue as the picture and had a cave in so only half the cave was accessible. The ice flyer shut down while we were on the top so we couldn't ride it. There were many attractions within the top shut down due to the tower they are building on the top of the mountain. We ended up spending the majority of our time eating overpriced spaghetti.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Dear Genevieve, Thank you for joining our Mount Titlis tour and for sharing your feedback with us. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the wonderful views at the summit. However, we are truly sorry to hear that the tour and the current conditions at the summit did not meet your expectations. As the Mount Titlis area is undergoing significant renovation works aimed at improving visitor infrastructure, there may indeed be ongoing construction activity near the top station. While efforts are made to minimise disruption, we understand that it can impact the overall experience for some guests. We were surprised to hear your guide wasn’t as involved as expected. He has been a dedicated part of our team for a long time and typically receives positive feedback for being attentive and proactive. There is always room for improvement and we will certainly share your feedback with him. Regarding the attractions at the top, they were not closed due to construction. As mentioned in the tour description, all activities at the summit are subject to weather conditions. While we understand you were disappointed about missing the Ice Flyer, guest safety is our highest priority. We hope that, despite the circumstances at the summit, you were still able to enjoy the scenic journey and the unique atmosphere of the Swiss Alps. Thank you once again for your feedback, and we wish you a wonderful rest of your stay in Switzerland. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

Amazing, but not enough time!

Shahana_N, Dec 2025
All the family had a wonderful day - the views were spectacular! Tour guides were excellent - informative and helpful. Only slight criticism is that we didn't have enough time to actually enjoy the experience as 1.5-2 hours were spent queueing for cable cars. Wished we'd had more time to enjoy all the facilities - felt quite rushed.

Amazing experience, especially seeing snow for the first time. Great day out, and quality guide on the day that explained everything well.

Wonderful snowy mountain experience

Incredible experience!

Jordan_L, Dec 2025
We started in Lucern and took a 45 minute coach ride to the base of the mountain. Then an amazing cable car ride and finally at the top awe inspiring views over the alps. Highly recommend.

Great fun near Lucerne!!!

Robert_S, Dec 2025
This was a wonderful excursion!! Our guide was terrific and very thorough. We were able to keep our group together and didn’t have to leave anyone on the mountain forever- LOL. This was a highlight of our time in Lucerne. Would definitely recommend.

Great experience.

Samina_M, Oct 2025
The tour guides are so informative and kind! I had a scare that I left my bag near the parking lot and they stayed until we finally saw my bag. Everything worked well even the weather. The driving skills of our driver is superb even with the steep roads to Engelberg!

Need Improvement in the co-ordination

SH_S, Sep 2025
The cliff walk and Ice flyer was fun and exciting. The queue/ stand to take funicular, cable car and gondola was bad experiences - no seat and bathroom (with no entry sign) for the almost 1 hour wait. It will not be easy for senior visitors. As for the tour operator, I suggest a more prominent signboard to be displayed or request the tour guide to bring along a flag. We have problem to search for the correct tour group at the meeting point. After coming down from Mount Titlis, we have difficulty in looking for our bus at the parking areas too (there were more than 20 buses waiting for their guests). Our tour guide cannot be seen anywhere (later we learnt that she was stuck at Mt Titlis) ! We were fearful of being left out at foreign land !

The guides organised...

Leith_D, Sep 2025
The guides organised everyone on the bus, but were not to be seen at Mt Titlis for information or guidance. However we enjoyed Titlis.

Response from Host, Sep 2025

Dear Leith, Thank you for joining our Mount Titlis tour and for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the level of support provided by the tour guides at Mount Titlis. Our tour guides accompany our guests from the departure point to the valley station, where they handle ticket distribution and explain the logistics of the ascent, as well as the various activities available at the summit. Once at the top, the guides offer a brief orientation for those interested before guests are given free time to explore and enjoy the mountain at their own pace. We regret that you felt unattended during this part of the tour. However, the time at the summit is intentionally designed for guests to enjoy individual activities based on their preferences, whether that's snow tubing, visiting the ice cave, or simply taking in the views. While we understand you may have preferred more individual attention, please note that our tours operate on a shared basis and are not private. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us to continuously improve our service. We are glad that you enjoyed Titlis, and we wish you a wonderful rest of your stay in Switzerland. Best regards, Magdalena from Best of Switzerland Tours

An Amazing Experience!

Brian_A, Sep 2025
Titlis was one of the four mountain journeys we did on our recent trip to Lucerne. Jean/Kusnudum (spelling?) were our guides. They did a good job herding all of us between the journey up/down. All of the components (Cliff Walk, the Glacier Cave, and the Ice Flyer as well as the gondola itself) are amazing; but they are sequential. If you want to do the Ice Flyer, you need to brave the Cliff Walk (which is a lot easier when people aren't swaying the bridge). I'm glad I packed extra Xanax for my acrophobia...

Excellant day out.

Janette_T, Sep 2025
Tour was great with commentary in multiple languages. Bus was really comfortable. I totally enjoyed my day.

Ann_M, Aug 2025
Fun family trip to get amazing views from the top. The gondola rides were amazing, and the activities at the peak were fun - although there was no sledding or tubing offered - maybe remove that from the description of the tour?

experience of a life time

Arif_R, Jul 2025
Experience of a life time, my 2 daughter have always dreamed to play on snow and this trip has fulfilled that dream

Mr Titlis 1/2 day

Debbie_B, Jul 2025
It was beautiful on top of the mountain, the only disappointment we had was that the Glacier Cave was closed, not exactly sure why. Tour included one hour bus ride both ways, guides were prompt and helpful.

Awesome half day excursion

U_T, Jul 2025
Instructions on Viator were very clear. We met our tour guide at the meeting spot. The price on Viator was reasonable given the 40 min bus ride and back plus the gondola rides tickets. Overall great experience.
