    Amazing experience, but an arduous hike in the mud

    This was a truly amazing hike, and Shiloh our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. It was especially useful to be collected from our hotel in Puerto Viejo. The 40m Kèköldi waterfall was stunning and swimming below it was a memorable experience. Meeting and having lunch with the indigenous Bribri family in the forest was also a treat. BUT...the 6hr hike was very arduous in the mud after recent heavy rains. We also had to cross a river, and beach shoes for the waterfall swim would be an advantage. You would need to be very fit to do this expedition, especially if is after recent rains.
