Eliseo was a wonderful, friendly guide. He is from the BriBri tribe and culture which gave the tour much more depth and meaning than others we observed. Eliseo shared his culture with a lot of pride and joy. We greatly appreciated the extra time he spent sharing his culture with us, everything from their spiritual beliefs to how they utilize the local plants for food and building. Of course the tour included a demonstration on how to make chocolate, including eating it over roasted bananas and as a drink. We ended the tour at BriBri falls where Eliseo took the time to take photographs of everyone in our group. He even spotted a sloth which was a highlight for several other people in our group who hadn’t seen one yet. I highly recommend this tour if you are visiting the Puerto Viejo/Cahuita area.

This was an absolutely wonderful experience! One of our trip highlights. Our guide was incredible, so knowledgeable and kind! Learning about BriBri customs was so cool and the chocolate making was amazing! So yummy and such a cool experience. Finishing the tour with the waterfall was great! Definitely recommend booking this experience.

Lovely experience. The guide is so knowledgeable and took photos for the group. We learn so much about this culture and made chocolate. The hike to the waterfall is medium intensity with hills and maybe 100 steps coming back and going down. Excellent experience!

We were greeted by a friendly man who was talking passionately about his people and the customs that they still have this day. You could see a little sparkle when he showed us how chocolate is made. He also learned us some Bribri words.
The tour was incredible and authentic. I can recommend the tour. Also, ask him about a nightly walk in the jungle.
100% recommended
Skip the big agencies.

What a truly wonderful experience!
We feel so fortunate to have chosen this tour and to have had such a knowledgeable and engaging guide. Learning from an actual member of the indigenous tribe made it a very real and profound experience. Eliseo’s passion for what he does really shines through, and it made the whole day even more special.
He gave us plenty of time to enjoy each part of the trip and answered all our questions with patience, kindness, and a big, welcoming sm

I spent several hours with the guide Eliseo in a Bribri indigenous village. Eliseo shared a lot about the history of this unique people, showed some artifacts and introduced me to the basics of indigenous survival skills. It was very interesting! Thank you!!

This was such an amazing tour. Having the opportunity to learn about the Bribri from a Bribri was phenomenal. His passion for his culture, and his love for his people was evident every step of the way. This was probably my favorite tour I have ever done in Costa Rica!! I honestly got teary-eyed because of how beautiful his stories of their celebrations were. And hanging out at the waterfall and swimming and watching locals enjoy the spot was a great way to finish the day. Oh, and how can I forget the chocolate!! Making chocolate from the beginning of roasting the cacao until eating it, is an experience I will think of every time I eat chocolate in the future. I really cannot say enough good things about this tour!

Our guide Eilseo was amazing! Not only was he extremely knowledgeable but also fun and personable. He taught us about his culture which lead us to appreciate and respect it. We also got to make some really tasty chocolate we got to make it from scratch. The view at the waterfall was beautiful and we got to take some really beautiful pictures also! Thank you so much for showing us a great time hopefully run into you again!

This tour was one of our most beautiful experiences in Costa Rica. Our guide Eliseo introduced us to the culture of BriBri in a very exciting and entertaining way – from hunting techniques to the ceremonial house to chocolate making. We were allowed to help ourselves and then taste the delicious, freshly prepared chocolate with banana and as a drink.
A special highlight was the frog breeding, where we could take great photos. We also learned a lot about the BriBri plant and herbal world – interesting, vivid and practical.
After visiting a waterfall that was also suitable for swimming, there was another tasting: fresh coconut and coconut water and other treats – a perfect end to the day.
This tour offers a successful mix of culture, nature and enjoyment – highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic experience.
