Ronald was our guide and was fabulous! He had a deep knowledge of ancient civilizations and his enthusiasm for Caral made the tour all the better. Adrian our driver was thoughtful and considerate of us (AC on high lol, slow over speed bumps, etc.). Highly recommend this tour but don’t forget sunscreen and a hat because it’s hot!

An ancient civilization in the desert of Peru

The Caral first civilization in the Americas is a must! This civilization is the 2nd oldest in the world, a couple hundred years younger than that in Mesopotamia! Its pyramids predate those of the Egyptians! Ronald and Phillipe took us to authentic Peruvian restaurants on the way to and from the archeological site in the desert. We felt like we were in an Indiana Jones movie! A man on horseback and an old man serendipitously appeared out of nowhere to help w crossing the creek. Bring lots of water because Lima is an oasis in a huge desert!

We really enjoyed visting Caral and experiencing the oldest known city of South America by being there in person and able to soak up the energy and atmosphere of this sacred site. What a great day we spent with Ronald guide and Felipe our driver! The guys made the 4 hrs drive north east and comfortable; stops for bathroom and snacks. The site is incredible for the history fanatic! The guys translated the Caral guide’s information and all my husband’s questions were answered! We really had a great day; the guys speak beautiful English and are knowledgeable!!!!

The ruins of Caral are a fabulous experience and the Ronald guide gave us a super nice day. Very grateful for your work. Your knowledge specific to your area is inexhaustible and super interesting.
