Overview
Get deep inside Venado Caves at Arenal Volcano National Park, which are 15-20 million years old! This 1.5 hour tour of the caves takes you to an underground river where you’ll see stalactites, stalagmites, marine fossils, bats, spiders, and crickets! You’ll get wet and muddy when you explore, so keep that in mind!

Guides will provide helmets with lights (all bright and working properly) and boots to wear if your water shoes are inappropriate. Bring a towel and change of clothes to shower there afterwards. Cave is warm and you will see bats and be walking through running water. Guide was knowledgeable and helpful. Options for little side detours within cave to crawl through smaller tunnels. It was extraordinary. Highly recommend.

As a family we enjoyed a solo tour in the jungle- the guide was friendly and even helped up get back to the hotel. We were able to see snakes - spitters, birds and bugs

The activity itself was extremely fun and I would highly recommend it. Wilmer did a great job explaining the caves to us. It does require some fitness (you climb a wall), so I would not recommend for older folks.
The reason the review is only 3 stars is because this listing is through 7 tours, which is basically a scam. You can go directly to the caves yourself and book for 40$ cheaper per person. Instead, 7tours charges you that 40$ simply for transportation. DONT BOOK WITH THIS LINK, BOOK DIRECT WITH VENADO CAVES

Great experience. Be aware, there is a little bit of fitness involved. It was me, my husband & 18 year old son & there are just a few parts that are challenging. We are in our 50's & my son is an athlete so he said it wasn't challenging at all. My hubby & I are semi fit, but I do recommend doing the challenging parts, especially the birthing canal if you can fit. Wear really good water shoes as my water shoes got obliterated. Also, wear dark shirts/tops that you don't mind getting dirty as you will be squeezing through tight spaces & possibly on your back or tummy to squeeze through. We loved this as a family & our guide was awesome. We got to see bats & some spiders & the Caves are truly remarkable. A must do!. Also know, it gets hot inside & your heart rate will get elevated. And lastly, the snacks are just a granola bar, nothing to get excited about.

So much fun, our boys loved it. Bats, tarantulas, spiders and crawling through tiny crevices in the caves. It’s challenging but an adventure our family will never forget. Thank you Elvis for helping us through the birth canal, kids are still surprised we made it! Thanks!

The caves are big, and so are the spiders! Our guide spoke very little English although we had paid for one. Compared to all our other tours this was by far the worst due to the guide

Our boys had a great time crawling through tight spaces into hidden rooms in the cave system. Not as much fun if you're claustrophobic, but you can bypass the tightest paths.

This tour was awesome!! We were picked up in La Fortuna, about 45 minutes from the cave. The tour was about 2 hours long and was pretty intense and interesting. We saw a lot of cave creatures which was great. Highly recommend

Arturo was brilliant so friendly, fun and informative!! The cave guide Henry was superb, made our time in the caves so fun. Please please go for it, and do the ‘birthing canal’ it’s super exciting! Cannot thank the guides enough for their expertise. What an amazing experience.. PURA VIDA!! The best part of this tour is the group sizes. We had the caves to ourselves! So much better than the huge groups we saw coming in and out. Felt so lucky to be apart of this tour compared to the others!!

En spännande och rolig aktivitet för den våghalsige. Är du mörkrädd, ogillar småkryp och har klaustrofobi är denna utflykt inget för dig! Du bör va relativt liten och smidig för att klara av dom trånga utrymmena som man ska klättra och slingra sig igenom. Var beredd på att bli blöt och smutsig. Vi gillade aktiviteten men tyckte priset var något dyrt mot den tid man fick spendera i grottan. I övrigt duktiga guider och en häftig upplevelse!
Ta på dig oömma kläder som du inte är rädd om. Skor och hjälm med ficklampa får du låna på plats.
