Informative of culture,...

Informative of culture, beliefs and history from beginnings to present day of the Kaleku people. Good demonstrations. Meal excellent. Good selection of Kaleku art works. Reasonably priced.

Underwhelmed

Rebecca_M, Nov 2021
I am grateful for the opportunity to be invited into the Maleku reservation and to learn history about their culture and tradition. I would not recommend this excursion company or tour, but perhaps if prospective reviews find another company, give it a shot. This tour was not as advertised. It was quite short, and underwhelming. The photos make it seem as though there is a ceremony performed or multiple people wearing traditional garb speaking to us. That’s not the case; it’s just one member and it’s a very informal conversation with her. This tour description includes a chocolate tasting or making, and there was no chocolate on this tour. When we asked about this to our guide, he just simply said “they didn’t offer it today.” I believe the tour we went on was not the same tour others have been on because the guide could not find the location and indicated this was a new place for them. Overall, I do not believe the monetary value of this tour matched the expectations or experience we had. It was underwhelming and I cannot recommend this specific company to others without warning.
