Overview

Ninja culture is not something visitors to Japan can just easily immerse themselves in, but this 2-hour, hands-on lesson offers an exclusive experience. In a small group of no more than six people, learn ninja techniques including ninja breathing, ninja meditation, and how to wield a ninja sword. Dress in ninja clothing too, for great photos of the experience.

Fun and Unique!

We came early (15min) left our shoes at the door, put on the slippers found in the shoe boxes provided and made our way up the stairs. We were welcomed by Sho at the door, where we were transformed into kindergarten Ninja… ready to learn the secret art. Prepare for fun, learning many things and even trying to kill a foam bullseye by throwing chopsticks, knives and forks :) A great experience to have, but beware… you will never look at kitchen utensils the same way again!

Book this!! We brought our five children (ages 5-12) and everyone had an incredible time. We learned so many skills and so much history from Sensei, who was kind, knowledgeable, patient, and very funny! She made every lesson accessible, taught each child according to their level of understanding, challenged us, and gave us an experience of a lifetime. We are deeply grateful for her kindness and generosity in sharing her knowledge and skills. Don't hesitate; if you are in Kyoto, this is truly a gem.

My teenage son and I joined another pair of travelers in our particular reservation. Once we were dressed in the traditional garb that we all know and love (assisted by the instructor and helper) we were off to the races, where we learned about different techniques and were able to try out different weapons (of course shuriken throwing was a favorite!). If you grew up watching ninja movies like I did, this would be a treat, but according to my son, even if you didn’t, it was still pretty fun!

Loved it. Very informative and our sensai was patient and funny. We also got to engage with authentic weapons, not toys and did a bunch of different activities ninja would do beginning with meditation which was a nice touch. Top tier experience!

My wife and I and our two kids aged 7 and 9 loved this class. It was a highlight of our trip in Kyoto. The instructor was super knowledgeable and fun. Our kids had a blast. It was very hands on and we learned so much. I would definitely recommend everyone take this lesson.

Ninja For A Day :)

I took the 2-hour ninja class today and loved it! The instructor and all the staff are great. They demonstrated and explained each movement thoroughly. It’s a very hands on class where you get to try many of the tools / weapons, such as a samurai and ninja class. One of the staff members also takes photos and videos for you on a professional camera. They send the photos and videos to you via email (Google Photos) after the class, which was a nice surprise! I highly recommended the 2-hour experience. :)

I felt like a real ninja!

I could say I love this experience a million times! I traveled over solo and wanted to do something spontaneous in Kyoto and this was the perfect fit. They dressed you up in their own designed ninja attire and walked you through all the basics. They took pictures and videos for you that you get to your email the same exact day which was amazing. The staff was so sweet and patient with us and the group was not so big that you couldn’t enjoy yourself. Definitely try this out!

My 10yo son and myself (mom) had so much fun!! We both were dressed in traditional ninja clothes. We were able to learn about meditation practices & most common weapons ninja used were professionally demonstrated. We were also allowed to try each of the weapon ourselves on targets!! They also took pictures for us and emailed it same day.

We had a fantastic experience! The instructor is knowledgeable, friendly, great English. It was a ton of fun and still accessible, even as a middle aged couple who is not very limber. They took lots of wonderful photos for us. I didn't know what to expect and thought it might be hokey, but it was not at all - very fun and legitimate.
