I highly recommend this experience. It is such an authentic experience to make a ninja weapon. The instructor is so nice, easy to talk to and incredibly welcoming. I think anyone would enjoy this class. I would 100% do it again if I had the chance.

This was a really fun experience. We learned about the weapons and their purpose. We were able to do all of the techniques needed to make the weapons. It was very organized, and we highly recommend it.

As a group of friends traveling through Kyoto, we were looking for something unique and hands-on — and the ninja weapon-making experience absolutely blew us away! The instructors were incredibly skilled and passionate, and they made the whole process fun and engaging from start to finish. We got to make our own shuriken and learn about the history and techniques behind real ninja weapons. It wasn’t just a crafting session — it felt like stepping into a different world. The staff explained everything and made sure we were all having a blast (and staying safe!). By the end, we each had our own handmade ninja gear to take home — along with unforgettable memories and a lot of inside jokes. If you’re in Kyoto and want to do something totally different, this is the experience. 10/10 would do it again!

Very pricey for what it felt like a conveyor belt activity with very little explanation and we did not make the ninja weapon. It was mostly sharpened and literally hitting with the hammer 5 times (for the photo)

This was a truly amazing experience mainly because the brothers running the show here are so high energy and make the whole process so much fun! Plenty of opportunities for awesome action shots while making your ninja weapon and it’s enjoyable for both kids and adults they have some easier options for sharpening that require less manual work for those who don’t have a lot of stamina making it really accessible to everyone. I would highly recommend you do this and would go as far as to say it’s one of my favourite things I did in Japan!

Fun different experience where we were able to make shurikens and kunais. Was very educational as we took pieces of metal, formed and shaped them, cured them and painted them with protective coating. The location was off the beaten path and experience was very personalized. We even got to take our weapons with us.
