Thank you Yuki
Yuki was a fantastic guide. We had a wonderful evening and fun-filled evening with great food and great company. Yuki was engaging and encouraged great conversation and a lot of laughs. I highly recommend this tour. It was our favorite activity in Kyoto.

Kimono’s and Tea, Oh my!
We were highly anticipating this experience and it did not disappoint! Everyone was so lovely. The staff for the kimono’s were great. I could not believe how fast we were dressed and my hair was done. The tea ceremony was awesome. Also greatly appreciated that we had small chairs and tables instead of being on our knees since my husband and I would not have been able to do it. Amy was an amazing host and funny! Highly recommend.

Good experience
I love to do food tours wherever I travel and this one was very good. The fact that there were only 3 stops felt short but there was plenty of food and drinks where i didn't feel like I was missing out. Additionally, Bárbara was a very good host and came prepared with a lot of interesting information about the area and dishes.

Great Sake Experience
This was one of the best and most informative experiences we've ever enjoyed. Our host Chika was energetic, knowledgeable and an expert on the history, production and types of sake. We learned a ton and tried many types of sake during our tasting. Wouid highly recommend this experience in Kyoto.

Fun tour and yummy food
The tour was amazing! I enjoyed our experience. Our guide explained the history of food and commerce in the area as we walk to our sites. The food was delicious. We stopped at a couple of stalls at the market to sample some food and then went to eat lunch at a beautiful local restaurant (This is not a food tour where you only go to food stands). Our guide was wonderful and had a great personality for this experience.

Diverse and unique dishes from the Kyoto region!
This tour was great! The dishes were specific to Kyoto, which is what I wanted. Even if you have tried many of the popular Japanese dishes from social media, this tour offers diverse and unique dishes that you may not have tried. Chika was a great tour guide as well, explaining the region and sake types and pairings. Highly highly recommended if you love food!

Fun and great stops
The tour was so much fun. Merisa, the guide was knowledgeable and shared some Japan history with the group on the route to the different stops. I enjoyed all three stops! I just didn't realize no drinks were included in the tour price. Luckily I had enough cash, as cash was needed.

Food tour Nishiki market Kyoto Japan
After a little hiccup with cab driver dropping us at the wrong Family Mart, and our tour guide rescuing us, we got started.
My friend and I were on our first trip to Japan, and booked this tour because it was recommended by another friend. This market is supposed to be fabulous and it is. But even better was our guide Yasuko. Having lived several years in Washington state, she's now in the Kyoto area and is of Japanese heritage. She definitely knows her stuff! We started out walking an area with suggestions for restaurants, learned local history, and then headed toward the market .
What fun! As we were the only two on the tour, we could stop where we wanted and ask questions as needed.
We tasted tofu skin, cuttle fish cakes, plum juice, seaweed soup, and more. The sake was a favorite.
Yasuko also helped my friend find a reliable ATM.
Thanks to Yasuko and Viator! Highly recommended.

Delightful Fun Sake Tour
Rika was our guide and she was fantastic! Easy to find at the meeting point, very knowledgeable and articulate, very personable - we felt like a personal friend was taking us on a tour and teaching us all about sake!! Very fun learning about the history of sake here in Kyoto, the main brewers, the brewing process, etc. The tastings themselves were a delight. Wide variety of sake to sample, with a nice option to have some food if one desires. At the conclusion of the tour Rika made it super easy to catch the correct train and head back to our hotel area. I highly recommend this tour and especially this guide!! Rika is the best!!

You won’t go hungry
This was a wonderful evening in Gion with our guide Hugo. Hugo is a very knowledgable and worldly guy. He gave us lots of information and perspectives on history and culture in both Gion and Kyoto specifically, and Japan in general. Then there was the food, lots of it, many varieties, very authentic and very delicious! He explained to us what we were eating and how it related to Japanese culture. There was also plenty of drink to go along with the food. Don’t pass this one up.

I enjoyed the class. It...
I enjoyed the class. It was smooth and organized. It was a big class but they have a great teamwork. Explained everything and attentive to everyone. I learned something new. Delicious and healthy recipe. I can make it for sure at home and share it with family and friends.
