We had a truly wonderful experience at the Kimono Tea Ceremony. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. Being dressed in beautiful traditional kimonos was a special experience in itself, and the staff were patient, attentive, and ensured everything was perfect. The tea ceremony was both peaceful and informative, giving us a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture, traditions, and hospitality. We enjoyed learning about the history and significance of the ceremony, preparing matcha, and tasting traditional Japanese sweets. The beautiful surroundings provided countless opportunities for photographs, and we never felt rushed. The staff were happy to help us capture special memories, making the experience even more enjoyable. Great food tour in Gion with Rika

We had an amazing time on our food tour with Rika! As a Kyoto native, she gave us insights into the local culture, foods, and history. She is a delightful host, and our family really enjoyed spending the evening with her. She walked us through Gion and showed us points of interest, and she was so thoughtful in offering to take scenic pictures of our family. The food was delicious and varied, and each of the three restaurants was intimate and welcoming. We especially loved the first spot where we had a full traditional meal. A Fantastic, Immersive Sake Tasting Experience

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Our two guides were true sake sommeliers, they were highly knowledgeable, made it great fun, and helped us to understand the different types and tase profiles of Saki. The distillery tour gave a clear, behind‑the‑scenes look at how sake is crafted, and the tasting was fantastic. We tried 10 different styles, explored food pairings, and learned how to spot our own flavor preferences; they even gave us a wallet card to help us to choose on our own! Fun, flavorful, and educational. Highly recommend.

You won’t go hungry

This was a wonderful evening in Gion with our guide Hugo. Hugo is a very knowledgable and worldly guy. He gave us lots of information and perspectives on history and culture in both Gion and Kyoto specifically, and Japan in general. Then there was the food, lots of it, many varieties, very authentic and very delicious! He explained to us what we were eating and how it related to Japanese culture. There was also plenty of drink to go along with the food. Don’t pass this one up.
