A shinto shrine & a Buddhist temple and hall.
Momo was excellent as our guide. Unfortunately the timing of the tour meant that we got to Kiyomizu-dera at 4.30pm (dusk) and it was dark by the time we left. The autumn foliage could not be seen. The view of Kyoto was a night time shot. A rush up & down the hill from the car park despite a stop of 70 minutes. Fushimi-inari was excellent though a long walk from the car park. Sanjusangen-do was fascinating.

This is a great tour to hit the major sites that are out of the Gion area.
This is a great tour to hit the major sites that are out of the Gion area. The guide was very friendly and spoke English well. Nice bus. Any tour like this requires a lot of fast walking, but this wasn't too bad.

Excellent information from guide. Well worth the reasonable cost. Learn things about Kyoto you just wouldn't get from a gyidebook.

great tour.
A great tour to cover all the must-see places in one day. Our guide K.C. is very friendly and humorous. I love his afternoon tour.

Kiyomizu-dera Temple
  • Although the temple is part way up Mount Otowa, it is fully wheelchair accessible, with no-step paths and special vehicle access via the emergency road entrance to save climbing the steps.

  • The temple grounds are large, with 30 buildings and gardens to stroll through. While it’s possible to visit quickly, if you’re trying to see many highlights of Kyoto in a short time, it’s also worth spending a couple of hours here.

  • There is a small admission charge.
