Amazing experience from start to finish. Messaged the night before to confirm collection time from Hotel. Arrived a little early. Really friendly, helpful and informative guide. Sent tickets to your phone, making entry to the Salt Mines easy. Managed expectations in relation to how much you would be walking, the length of time it would be, and where you could exit. Arranged to meet again for transport back to hotel. Loved the Salt Mines. Amazing visually and really informative. Great for family, although be prepared to do a lot of walking. My big boys loved it. We dressed for warmth, it was 27degrees outside and it was warm in the Mines. We could have done with lighter clothing. Overall a fab experience. Would definitely recommend

Booked with the promise of hotel pick up, air conditioned and private car - we were made to walk to a meeting point 1 km away from our accommodation - and told not to be late -
A van arrived - with other people - and had another pick up along the way
The salt mines it self was absolutely fantastic - the tour guide is inclusive of the ticket and organised by the mine.
After the tour - we were had to wait for the other people in a hot car with no air conditioning - for 30 minutes , whilst they got ice cream - and listened to their banter on the way home,
We checked the price of an uber to and from the mines, around $36 Australian (from old town) - then the cost of the salt mines ticket was wayyy cheaper and less stress, than this experience.
We were told by Viator - that we wouldn’t have been able to organise the ticket into the salt mines ourselves - which is an absolute lie.
Organise it yourself for better - safer transport. Texting and driving isn’t something a driver should be doing.

This tour is advertised clearly as a shared group tour, not a private transfer, and nowhere in the title or description do we state that a private vehicle is included. The van and the presence of other participants were exactly as described.
Regarding the pickup location — due to city regulations and the no-car zone around Kraków’s Main Square, it is simply not possible to collect guests from accommodations located there. The meeting point provided to you was just 450 meters from the Main Square, which is the closest legal stop, and this information is included in the tour description.
As this is a shared tour, timing sometimes depends on all guests being present and ready. We do our best to ensure everything runs smoothly, but we cannot leave guests behind if they are slightly delayed. Similarly, drop-off order may vary depending on traffic and guest needs, which can occasionally cause short waiting times for others.
The value of the tour includes far more than just tickets — it covers round-trip transportation, fuel, parking, full organization, and stress-free entry to the Salt Mine, with a licensed driver to guide you along the way.
We truly regret that you were disappointed, but we hope this explanation clarifies the structure and scope of the service provided.

Our driver, Michał, was great! The salt mine was fantastic. The tour is 2-3 hrs long, there were some little kids on ours that were complaining but good for adults. This booking is basically for a transfer and purchasing the ticket in advance. All people have to go on tour operated with mine staff, groups of about 40. It was a holiday the day we went and it was pretty busy. We felt a little rushed with yours leaving every ten minutes not much time to stop and admire. Overall though totally an interesting experience.

You walk downhill a lot. Lots of steps. It's quite warm once inside. The tour guide we had was very funny and told us everything. It's definitely worth the visit.
The lift back to the top was the worst bit. We were crammed in. Luckily it took 2 mins to reach the top.

Fantastic service from our driver Mirek, he was friendly and had such great knowledge on the mines and info about Poland and Krakow. He looked after us and made sure we got onto the mines tour. The mines themselves were stunning! Definitely a must see, the tour guide on that was softly spoken so you definitely have to be near the front. And there is a lot of stairs and walking so not recommended if you’re not fit or able!

These mines are amazing and such a treat to look around. There are a lot of steps to go down at the start but once you are down them simply stunning. Thankfully there is a lift, really small but better than the steps. Guides are really knowledgeable and easy to speak to.

There are a lot of steps down. Thankfully, there is a lift to bring you back to the surface. Hotel pickup and drop off, was very smooth. Our driver, Rafael, was great.

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is well worth a visit, the whole experience was impressive, the statues made of salt were incredible as was the main chapel in the mine (apparently you can get married there should you wish 😁), all excellently guided by Patrycja and a shout out to our driver Anna as well!!

Driver picked up on time and was pleasant. Picked up others around the city and dropped us at the Salt mine entrance after giving one member of the group all our entrance tickets by phone. We didn't really know what to do or where to go with no clear instructions other than our tour time and to message the driver with photos after we exited so he could find us. It was a bit confusing but we meandered around until an announcement was made and then our group headed to the individual ticket entry. At that point every 30 entrants are given a guide that you must stay with.
It was fine and our guide, Patricia, was nice, funny, interesting, and helpful, taking good care of our group. To enter the mine you must walk down about 800 steps, but they are very sturdy and not claustrophobic. There is a lot of walking after this throughout the tour, about 2.2 km. At the end of the tour there is a lot more walking to reach the elevator to the surface. Our group was taken up in a smaller elevator that led to an exit away from the main entrance. We did message the driver photos of our location and he arrived in a few minutes to pick us up.
The carvings are amazing! The tour itself is good. Picture taking is encouraged but not a lot of time as the tour must keep moving. The gift shop is small. There is a place on the tour for a quick purchase of a drink or snack. At the end there is a bigger restaurant but we did not eat there. Free restroom available before entry in a separate building.
The mine is warm. The deeper you go the warmer it gets. Most people had to remove their coats inside.
The only reason for the four stars is the bit of confusion at the beginning and the amount of walking that I wasn't quite expecting.

Really enjoyed our trip to the Salt Mines. Our guide was very informative and spoke loudly enough for us all to hear. There were a lot of steps but since they were in stages, there was no problem and they were going down. The lake and the church were really amazing. A well worth trip. Our driver was Margaret and she was very professional and friendly.

The pickup and transportation to the mines was excellent. Our driver was friendly and punctual. 5 stars for him. However, three of four people in our group felt the Salt Mines were very disappointing, basically a tourist trap. I cannot recommend. Our driver said there are other mines nearby that are better.

Guide was very informative and pleasant. The whole trip was great. A lot of stairs to descend to get in and more to get to different levels. The displays were amazing more can be said for the long walk back to the lift to get back out lol. In my opinion its not for young kids, there was I'd say a 10yr old in our group and he got bored and became restless shall I say think it was too long for him and probably for other kids too. Overall enjoyable.

Excellent trip, Olaf was brilliant.
Would have been 5 stars but I wanted to go to the extra attraction of the saltmine museum but the other people didn't. That meant Olaf had to take the others home and come back for me. If he had not then the others would have had to wait an additional 60-90 minutes. Viator should make this clear to all and, if necessary, separate the client's.

Peter was on time and super helpful. Clean new fleet of vans. Ride there was great and Peter took the time to explain the scenery as we were traveling. The salt mine itself was an awesome experience and I’ll go back and explore more if/when I come back to Krakow.

Our experience with Margaret and the tour was amazing. We were picked up right outside our airbnb and did the tour with two other couples. Margaret gave a quick backstory of the mines and her personal experience with them as overview. We did the guided tour of the mines with Victoria (provided by the mines) and she was great as well. Between the history and sights underground it blew us away. 10/10 would recommend this.
