Michelle was incredible! This was easily one of the best tours we’ve taken, and she’s one of the best guides we’ve had across all the countries we’ve visited. Her energy, knowledge, and love for Osaka made the city come alive in a way we’ll never forget. From hidden local spots to the stories behind Osaka’s food and culture, every part of the experience felt authentic and personal. We left with a much deeper appreciation for the city and can’t recommend this tour enough!

Michele was very personable, and gave us good background of Osaka history and current life in unaccented English. She picked us up at the court and made sure we knew our way back to the ship on the tram line.

Osaka Tour - Fun & Educational

Michelle did a great job tailoring our Osaka tour to “must see” locations and sprinkled in a few hidden gems in between stops. She can adjust the pace from fast to slow wherever desired. We asked her many questions and enjoyed her explanations of Japanese culture both past and present. She has outstanding American English and a bubbly fun personality.

Guide didn’t show up

Guide claims she showed up but we waited for an hour and no one showed up. We paid $390 for two people and received nothing. Do not book with Viator. Viator refused to refund our payment.

Hello, this is Michelle (the guide that was to meet you), and I am personally responding to your review. Thank you for your feedback, and am very sorry you feel that I was the one who did not show up. *Our time to meet was at 9:30am, and I messaged you multiple times (via Viator, Whatsapp, and cell phone directly), between 7:45am and 9:50am, with no response. (I have documented proof) Finally at 12:14pm, I get the first message from you on Viator, and shortly after one message on Whatsapp, stating that you had been waiting for me for 1-hour, from 9am to 10am. I am wondering why there were no messages to me between 9am and 10am? Or asking Viator, (as you did after-all, but after noon, well after our tour time). Also we were to meet at 9:30am, and am wondering why you were waiting for me since 9am (stating that you were wondering where I am). When I had to mark this tour as a no-show, I had documented proof of all my communication attempts, as well a photo of the port, with clock in the background, showing that I was there at the port. Meta data on the photo can show this. I also spoke to a port attendant, notifying them that I was looking for guests, for in case guests asked them for help looking for me. There was some confusion with this booking as well. You let me know once we communicated, that I was supposed to take you both to the airport... ...but the tour booked was from the Kobe Port, to Osaka, and back to Kobe City again. I am sorry that this was not a good experience for the both of us. From you feeling that I simply did not show up, and having a bad feeling for your day, of me, or Viator... ....and for me to have shown up and trying many different ways to find you both, only to not succeed and hope that you both were okay.

We met Michelle at the JR Kobe railway station and we took the train to Osaka. First stop was the Osaka Castle and then the busy, busy downtown market area. We had Sumo Wrestling tickets we had to pick up and Michelle was an angel helping us to finally pick them up for the tournament next day. I was ready to give up due to the complexities involved, but Michelle persevered and she was successful. Lastly our visit to the Isshinji Temple was amazing.
