Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate!

Leslie_E, Feb 2026
The planetarium show seems a bit dated. The images seemed a bit washed out? Unfortunately, it was a cloudy night and bitterly cold so the star part didn't happen. Not their fault of course.

Nice tour for the nerds

Jun_K, Dec 2025
Very informative tour about the stars, planets, and the universe. Unfortunately, because of the cloudy conditions, I didn’t see much of the skies nor the Northern Lights. Did a bit of stargazing. Staff were very friendly and kind.

A starry night needed

Emma_S, Sep 2025
It was very much aimed at children. We picked a cloudy evening so not much to see. The set up could be smarter. It seemed a bit shabby. The staff are lovely and enthusiastic. A wonderful location if you pick al cold clear night

Very technical - included...

Eleanor_L, Sep 2025
Very technical - included First Nations information and stories. The telescope view of Saturn and its rings was awesome!

Rude and not what I expected

Viki_C, Sep 2025
Our email confirmation told us to come 10 minutes prior to our time. We were actually that 10 minutes late due to Elk being on the highway and traffic being stopped. The instructions were not clear on where to check in. We asked a staff person where our activity was and he showed us. We did walk in after they had just started. The narrator asked our names. Told us we were too early for our scheduled time and we should leave until our 9:45 pm time. There were possibly 6 people in a pop up tent made to be a planetarium. He asked a gentleman and his young son to stop whispering and leave. My reservation were for 9:00 pm on my email confirmation.. I did find the actual planetarium “check in” site and inquired as to time and our being dismissed. I was told unfortunately my reservation was for 9:45 pm so if I didn’t mind waiting for the 9;45 pm session I could go. We left and went back to our hotel. I can’t say if the actual presentation is good or not. I can say it is not in a planetarium but a tent with a slide show. Definitely not what I thought I was paying $279.00 for 4 people for.

The beginning of the tour...

Jeanne_H, Sep 2025
The beginning of the tour in the Planetarium was very interesting and informative. However, when our group went outside with all the other groups to use the telescopes, it was very unorganized. It is totally dark with people all around and you're told to follow a certain person ( if you can see or find them).

Disappointed

Dixie_T, Aug 2025
Maybe I’m jaded because I was disappointed in this “Planetarium.” It was a tent outfitted with a projector. I left after a half hour with the following telescope event because it just wasn’t what was advertised. I should’ve paid attention to the negative reviews. Wildly overpriced!

We were surprised to see...

Dessie_S, Aug 2025
We were surprised to see that the “planetarium” was in a tent. We expected a building. We knew the telescope part would be outside. Unfortunately we didn’t read the part about standing for long periods. Perhaps having chairs in the other 2 tents would reduce the length of time standing. It was cloudy on our night so we couldn’t use the telescopes. The 2 year period to come back is great for locals but a partial refund would be nice for those who are on a once in a lifetime vacation and have no chance of returning.

Great night and fun experience The presentation and dome was amazing All the individuals who presented were so informative

about a 40 minute video...

Lisa_J, Jul 2025
about a 40 minute video in small planetarium very close to main part of lodge that was relatively entertaining and close. nice activity on site that can entertain in bad weather. we did the tour after in daylight hours at 645pm and it was about 20 additional minutes of looking through 3 scopes at the sun and various other distant locations on surrounding mountains. It was something to do. Positives that it was so close and a good activity for kids without going too far.

Very educational but also very weather dependent if you want to see the northern lights.

Horace_L, Jun 2025
The experience is a scaled down version of what you would get at Griffith Park Observatory in Hollywood California, which is actually a big compliment. Seeing the northern lights is a long shot as its largely weather dependent, which rarely ever works out the one time you attend.

Jasper rafting rocks!

Michelle_H, Jun 2025
It was a really fun experience for our large family group. The whole team was great!! They were super friendly and enthusiastic about what they did. You could tell they loved what they did and really made it a fun time. We are so glad we did it even though it ended up being a pretty chilly day. Shout out to Conner, Luke, Georgia, Ollie, Alley, and I’m not sure of the rest of the names but they were all great people!!!

Nice

Yoko_T, Sep 2024
It was nice to learn about the planet. The guides were students learning about the planet. They are friendly and knowledgeable.

Saw the Northern Lights

paulbrown, Aug 2024
Tour okay. We did see the Northern lights on the tour but had a better view from our lodge which was by the lake. We are really sorry to hear about the wildfires and hope the lodges and the town of Jasper are able to rebuild (as it is a fabulous place to visit).

Wildfire no cancel

Jeff_L, Jul 2024
There was a wildfire and evacuation. They would not let us cancel. Jasper was evacuated as raining with smoke. Yet they wouldn’t let us cancel. Nothing to see Terrible

More than five stars!

Rmitha, Jul 2024
We did this as a date and it was so much fun. We're not really into stars so we didn't know much going in but we learnt a lot. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly and the combo tour was really interactive. We learned how to find certain constellations and stars, saw some up close with the telescopes and heard stories about them. I would definitely recommend this for everyone. There were families with kids in our group and they really enjoyed themselves too.

Do at your own risk.

Fareesa_K, Jun 2024
If it’s cloudy, they give you a two year rain check. Oh and they will show you videos of what the sky looked like on days it was clear. Another way to approach this would be to cancel the event and refund money accepting the fact that the experience they are attempting to provide is risky based on weather. This is obviously not the profitable thing to do but it makes sense and it’s the right thing to do. Honestly, who is going to come back within two years to try again? What if they come back and it’s cloudy again? It just feels like the company does not want to let go of the money once they got it.

Best trip ever

Mary_B, May 2024
Best part of this trip was the Planatorium!! Guides were very knowledgable!!! So wonderful to do this and see so much!!

Fascinating and informative

Jennie_R, May 2024
Very informative and interesting we could only go when it was still light would have been better if had been dark but still got to see the northern lights later that night

Interesting

fnr9mws4ww, Apr 2024
Wasn’t sure what to expect as never done anything like this before but was pleased and found it interesting. Hosts clearly love their job and what they do! Very cold when we went however we just wrapped up warm!!

Nice evening activity

PedroJose_J, Mar 2024
Nice evening looking at the stars. I recommend it. Little bit cold outside but good explanations from the squad

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Thank you so much for your review and kind words! It does get quite chilly here in the Canadian Rockies so we always recommend to dress for anything! Kind Regards, Everly Head of Guest Services

Incredible Jasper night

JamesEP_M, Oct 2023
The guides were very passionate and knowledgeable about the Jasper dark sky, auroras , meteorites, stars and planets. I learned so much more information. We were disappointed that it was a cloudy night and couldn’t view the stars but the staff were incredible with information.

Star gazing at its best

Barbara_F, Sep 2023
The planetarium tour was both educational and entertaining. Kaitlyn had a great voice for narration and was adept at engaging the audience. We worried that the cloud cover would obscure our opportunity to look through the telescopes and reflect the light of the resort making star gazing more challenging and it did to some degree. However, we were treated to a rare glimpse of the northern lights! So exciting for us. Well worth the price of admission! Dress warmly - gloves made a big difference.

Northern Lights!

Melanie_C, Aug 2023
We hit the jackpot and saw the most amazing display of the aurora borealis. The employees were knowledgeable and clearly interested in the night sky. The telescopes were fun to look through as well.

Too far, Too Late, Too cloudy

Amalie_D, May 2023
Show was rinky dink. Extra cost to go by cab to and from Fairmont. Would like a rain check for telescope portion. Should notify people that the planetarium show and telescope show can be purchased separately.

Tolles Erlebnis

Michael_L, May 2023
