Wow! Loved it. Such a great activity and well organised by tour provider. Suitable for almost anyone. Court was our guide and did a fantastic job rafting down the river, chatting with everyone; sharing stories about Jasper and happy to answer questions. So much fun getting splashed and being a warm day it was refreshing. A memorable experience and a highlight of our time in Jasper.

It was crazy good. Conor you are so fun. Keep doing the way you do it. Love every minute of it. It's a mist do in Jasper. The pick up was on time, our bus driver was great. The informed us of everything that we needed to know.

Amazing Scenic Rafting Experience! 🌊🏔️

We had such a great time on the Athabasca River Easy Scenic Raft Trip! The whole experience was relaxing, beautiful, and so much fun. Our raft guide was absolutely wonderful—very friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the trip. He was so nice and did a great job making the experience enjoyable for everyone. The scenery was amazing, and it was the perfect activity for a scenic and relaxing day. This was a great experience. We had 3 children with us, (youngest was 7) The guide was great, and gave us a good talk as we went down the river. We only got a little wet. It was at a good level if you want a relaxed experience going down the river.

Fantastic Family Activity

It’s a great exposure to rafting. You just sit and let your guide navigate you down the river. Equipment provided was in great shape. Staff were very friendly.

River float

Suzanne_S, Jul 2026
This was an excellent excursion. The staff member was very interesting and was able to point out interesting facts along the river bank. As well as enjoying the experience we learned about the area we were holidaying in. I would recommend to everyone.

Fun on the river

robert_b, Jul 2026
Relatively calm raft cruise. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information. It was pretty easy to enter and exit the inflated raft. It could hold up to 26 (or a few more).

Dangerous trip

Richard_S, Jul 2026
It was a cloudy day and chilly. Eventually it started to rain and there was lightning. And the river was angry (meaning there were more than mild waves). Our guide was good and was full time but I think it was his first year working for this company. The other two rafts had “guest” guides (they previously had worked at the company but now were infrequent raft guides) - one who was a mentor and the other one who seemed to be a little too macho. I think it was because he had gotten his raft stuck in shallow water so we passed him and he was embarrassed and wanted to prove how good he was. Towards the end of our trip the macho man decided to get ahead of our guide and he docked the raft making it very difficult for our guide to pull in beside him given the rougher-than-usual waves. By doing this it took us another 30 minutes to find somewhere to disembark. The trip didn’t feel safe and our raft of 20 people eventually got to a grassy area and we had to walk up a steep hill. We were wet, freezing and a little terrified. The people at the company who eventually grabbed the raft told us it wasn’t the first and wouldn’t be the last time this happened. My view is the macho man should be reprimanded and if anything had happened to our guide, who had to really work hard at steadying the raft, it would have put us into a dangerous situation. Thus, I couldn’t recommend this trip.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the changing conditions made the trip uncomfortable. We have reviewed the concerns raised in your review. The weather and river conditions were being actively monitored throughout the trip, including the lightning in the area. The lightning was observed at a distance and was being monitored as part of our ongoing assessment of the conditions. We recognize that this was not the planned conclusion to the trip and that the experience was unsettling. Our guides are trained to continually assess changing river and weather conditions, and safety decisions are made based on the conditions at the time. While outdoor activities can involve changing weather and river conditions, we take any situation that causes guests to feel unsafe seriously and will use this incident as an opportunity to review our procedures and decision-making. We are glad that everyone was ultimately able to get off the river safely, and we appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention.

Super Experience

A relaxing and entertaining trip

A great trip down the Athabasca River with our very skilled oarsman Joel. Very relaxing, nothing too strenuous and we didn't get too wet.

Mid September noon family raft trip

Elisha_C, Sep 2025
We were a party of 5 adults, 2 youth, and 7 kids. This was one of the highlights of the trip for the kids! It was easy to find the guides in Jasper, and the check-in process was straight-forward. I had our information and tickets printed, but only needed name and number of our party. The guides got everyone fitted into life jackets and readily loaded into the boat. Our boat guide, Finn, was great. He shared info about the area, the river, his experiences in the area. He turned the boat several times so everyone had a chance to be in “front.” He also soaked most all of us at some point during the float, which the kids begged for. We floated 6 miles down the river, which was further than we thought, and took right at an hour. The water was beautiful, we saw lots of fire flower, a few ducks, and a few elk on the bus ride back.

First Raft Trip

Fun rafting trip for first time rafters. My husband was nervous, but he did ok ans the river was mostly calm. Ollie, our guide was great. And, we only got a little wet.

Highly recommend!

We were recommended this tour by Dave the driver on a tour the previous day. He was such good fun and advised it really was suitable for us oldies we booked that night! He wasn’t wrong! Dave drove the bus - amazing again- and we had a most enjoyable trip down the river. I would highly recommend

Brilliant.

Anne_H, May 2025
This was such good fun. Our guide, Jacob, was outstanding. Very amusing and so good at rowing the raft. I was slightly apprehensive about doing this activity - I’m a 65 year old granny with a hip replacement and a steroid injection in my knee. It really is suitable for almost anyone and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great rafting trip

Jennifer_M, May 2025
Finn was superb navigator. Weather not that great at beginning but didn’t stop whole trip being great. Got more of a splash than anticipated but this added to fun.

Great Fun & Felt Safe

Fantastic. Just fantastic!

Nicola_D, Jul 2024
What an amazing way to spend your afternoon…. drifting down the Athabasca river taking in amazing views. Zach was our superb host who steered us safely and amusingly throughout our course. And you only get wet if Zach really really likes you 😜

Fun trip - you will get wet!

Naomi_B, Jul 2024
Fun trip with beautiful scenery. I didn't expect to get as wet as I did on this trip, but since it was a hot day, it wasn't a problem.

Would Definitely go again.

Ashley_B, Jul 2024
This was a perfect experience for kiddos. I took my 6 year old and although it was a bit long, 2 hours on the water he did great. The guides were so great and knowledgeable.

Floating with friends

Great tour- our float trip was amazing & Conner was so informative & delightfully entertaining during the float! Lots of information & history along the way.

Fun

CaterinaA_L, Jun 2024
Travelling the same route that the fur traders used and the most special experience seeing lightening striking the top of the mountain forest area.

Scenery was phenomenal...

Lori_N, Jun 2024
Scenery was phenomenal and the guides were great - we felt very safe ! An easy and soothing ride. Unfortunately we didn’t see any wildlife.

Trip should have been cancelled due to weather conditions!

Horst_L, Jun 2024
We did not participate in the trip even though we had paid for it. Weather conditions were 10 degrees Celsius with light rain and a gusty wind at the time the trip was to depart. Not exactly the kind of conditions which would lead to an enjoyable excursion. We were informed that the trip would go ahead rain or shine and we would not get a refund. The weather conditions were such that the trip should have been cancelled and a refund provided.

Response from Host, Jan 2025

HI Horst, We always run our trips rain or shine, it's one of the better things to do when it's raining in Jasper. Plus the weather in mountains changes frequently and we can't cancel trips based on some light rain

As Advertised

Edmond_W, May 2024
Our float guide Brad was excellent . Handled the rubber raft expertly plus was very knowledgeable about the Jasper area. Float was very scenic with some smaller rapids. Trip was as advertised.
