Itinerary
Your tour begins with pickup from your Jasper hotel at a prearranged time in the evening. After boarding a minibus, set off into nature, and admire views of the region's UNESCO-listed mountain passes and untouched wilderness.
Your guide provides commentary that details the flora and fauna of Jasper National Park and takes you to seasonal spots inhabited by native wildlife.
With luck, you can observe grizzly bears, mountain goats, elk, moose, squirrels, and eagles in their natural environment. You'll also have the chance to make photo stops to better soak up the wealth of scenery.
Your tour concludes with hotel drop-off.

- To request complimentary pick-up from your accommodation, please specify which hotel you are staying at. Pickup times vary therefore your exact pick-up time will be confirmed upon booking.
- If you are staying outside of Jasper, please specify Jasper Downtown Location - at Two Brothers Totem Pole across from Parks Canada Information Center on Connaught Drive. Your meeting time will be 15 minutes prior to your trip’s departure time. All-day parking is located in the parking lot.
- Viewing will be primarily from inside the minibus however, at the discretion of your guide there may be times where you have the option to step outside at viewpoints. A small amount of walking may be involved.
- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
- This tour is not recommended for young children: The Wildlife Tour is typically geared more towards adults, providing educational commentary along the way. While wildlife sightings are frequent, the experience differs significantly from a zoo visit. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals, sightings occur intermittently during the 3-hour tour and vary from day to day. Based on our observations, young children often become restless as there are no scheduled stops on this vehicle-based tour. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Although not recommended, children and infants under 5 years old are welcome, provided a seat is purchased for them at the child rate (all passengers regardless of age are required to be allocated a seat on the bus). For those bringing infants, we recommend bringing a baby carrier which can be secured with the provided seat belts on our buses.
- Jasper National Park is a wild and natural habitat. Wildlife Sightings are frequent but not guaranteed.

This experience was awesome. Our tour guide Sam was sooo intelligent with wildlife information and very passionate in helping us have great experiences. We saw grizzly bears, a moose, eagles and more. It was raining for ours but he did an excellent job at making sure we got good views! This tour is a MUST!

Pre tour communication from Maligne Adventures was excellent. We were met on time at our hotel. Even more excellent was guide and driver Catherine. She’s a scientist so her narratives were 5+. She explained about Jasper area wildlife, wildfires, and ecosystems. She enthusiastically searched for local animals and we saw many. We would join this tour again on our next visit.

Superb tour made memorable by Catherine - well driven, informative and extremely friendly.
A good variety of animals witnessed which is never a guarantee on these tours (the animals have rarely read the itinerary!).

Great tour. Catherine was a great guide and gave us tons of useful information. We saw lots of Elk, Beavers and Bald Eagles. Not a great time of year for bears but we saw one 2 days later. Highly recommend this tour

Kelli was incredibly knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. I enjoyed learning about Jasper National Park. We learned how the fire impacted the area and its residents. We saw bald eagles, golden eagles, beavers, female elk, 3 bull elk. Kelli have us plenty of time for viewing the wildlife. Highly recommend!

We did the tour with Kendra and she was very very informative about all the wildlife in the area, we learnt quite a lot. We saw a fair few elk, even a male spraying elk cologne over himself which was amusing. Kendra showed us photos and even antlers , horns and a bears skull.
Unfortunately we saw no other wildlife but it was a very hot day, so animals were obviously keeping in the shade. We really wanted to see bears as we hadn’t seen any our whole trip but due to the wildfires last year and the heat, it just didn’t happen but hey that’s nature and can’t be guaranteed to see anything. It was a good tour and Kendra tried her best to spot some other wildlife.

The guide Kans was very pleasant, professional and informative. However there was hardly any wildlife except for the elk. The trip should have started an hour later to avoid the heat and to allow for better sightings just after sunset. Also we should have been alerted that due to the heavy fires last year animals have moved away. The title of the trip was slightly misleading.

Thank you for your feedback. Many of our wildlife tours successfully spot a variety of wildlife, but of course with wild animals, sightings can never be guaranteed.
While the 2024 fire has altered some habitats, many areas in the park remain unaffected and animals are still frequently seen, though activity varies by season and species.

We saw a bunch of interesting things - including king male elk, along with all of his females, marmites, Rocky Mountain bighorn pack, and a juvenile bald eagle.

What a way to experience our first night in Jasper!! Our tour guide, Katherine, was absolutely fabulous. Her enthusiasm and passion for her work was obvious when HER excitement in seeing the animals was as strong as OUR first-time sightings! We were fortunate to spend a good about of time observing what she said was some rarely seen behavior by a mature male elk, and four or five ‘cows.’ Katherine was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and birds that we spotted, and gave us plenty of time to observe their behavior. Katherine welcomed questions, and went above and beyond in her explanations and descriptions of what we’d seen, as well as what we could expect to see. If you are fortunate enough to spend an evening wildlife tour with Katherine, you’ll walk away—as we did—with a deeper appreciation and understanding of the mutual dependence of the animals and plant life in Jasper National Park!

Amazing and educational tour with a great guide - Josh!! Though our guide is from NZ? He is really experienced and full of energy!
Within 3 hours, we got to know the difference between a grizzly bear and a black bear, horns and antlers, explanation of the different behaviour of the animals (whenever we see one - marmot, elk, osprey, white tailed deer).
Very well organised and clear explanation/ instructions and expectations laid out before the tour.

This trip could be a hit or a miss and its all down to whether you see any animals. Luckily for us we saw elks, deer, big horn sheep, eagles and ospreys. Our driver, Sam, had incredible knowledge of the area and the local animals. He tried his best to make sure the trip was a success. We were picked up and dropped off from our hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip!
