We did the glacier hike and it was incredible. Antoine was amazing and friendly and knowledgeable. Im still in awe. So much beauty on the glacier! I didnt realize how intense the hike is though. We hiked around 4 miles and a lot of it was up hill so be prepared. Antoine was great and patient and we moved at a very manageable pace.

Exceptional!

R_M, Oct 2025
EXCELLENT! Just make sure you know you are indeed hiking in this one. I had looked at both options I found and THOUGHT I got the one that was more what I could handle 7 months out from a major knee surgery but we got about 45 mins out and I realized I was very wrong. All my error, just know this has some steep hiking areas and is 3 hours of almost continuous hills and declines on unstable surfaces. Guillaume, our tour guide, went absolutely above and beyond to help me through my experience. I can’t thank him enough for helping me and allowing me to still experience this. Outside of that, if you can hike, DO THIS! It definitely was a much better option for seeing magical glacier events! And ask for Guillaume because he will teach you so much, pay attention for your safety and your questions, and will make this an amazing experience worth every dollar.

Awesome!

Very informative! Would definitely recommend! We were given an extra waterproof layer and spikes to make our hike Easter.

Longer Hike than anticipated but great guide

Susan_K, Oct 2025
Hike includes a long walk just to get to the ice. 2 of our friends found the hike too difficult and turned back. They are in their 70’s but in good Shape. Maybe it was due to the higher elevation.

Bucket list adventure surpasses expectations

Wow - what an amazing experience! Our guide, Cece made it even more memorable. She was knowledgeable about the glacier itself, as well as the ice ages that formed it. She also help me when I had a bought of vertigo on the hike up. Made me feel safe and gave practical hiking tips for me use then and in the future. So grateful for the whole experience.

DO IT!! You won’t be sorry!!

Look no further and take this tour! You will NOT be sorry, I promise! “G” was our tour guide and he was amazing. He is so kind, funny and informative. If they charged more for this tour, I would definitely pay it! You will see some really neat things that the other tour companies do not show you. These are small groups as well so there is individual interactions. Loved it!!!

One-of-a-kind access to stunning glacier features

Chloe_T, Sep 2025
This tour was amazing!! Our guide, Jason, was extremely knowledgeable and helped us navigate the glacier. Our group ranged from early 20s to middle aged. Although some of us found the experience slightly challenging, climbing from the bottom of the glacier to the top, we also found it extremely rewarding. Jason made sure to give us frequent stops on the trail so that we could catch our breath. The tour also includes all the equipment you will need, like spikes for your shoes to navigate the glacier. The spikes were extremely easy to use and really helpful. He also showed us amazing crevasses and rivulets on the glacier itself. He mentioned that the glacier changes so often that crevasses that appear one day may not have been there even the week prior. It was fascinating hearing all the facts about the Athabasca Glacier. The experience is truly one-of-a-kind, and we would highly recommend everyone try it out.

Mike was an awesome guide! The hike was a little more strenuous than I anticipated, but we stopped several times to learn about the glacier from Mike, which was helpful! The overall experience was unbelievable and unforgettable!! I totally recommend this!

Awesome!!

A great hike on the glacier. Our guide, Stu, did an excellent job educating us about the beauty and dangers of being on the glacier. Truly a once in lifetime experience. BTW, that other tour barely covered a fraction of what this tour did.

Glacier fun!

Can’t recommend it...

Lydia_L, Sep 2025
Can’t recommend it enough! Stu, our guide, was experienced, informative, and fun. What a high point to end our trip on. Some notes: there is an easy - moderate hike to the glacier. As a reference, it’s easier than the Lake Agnes hike. Gear and transportation are provided. We also had a very memorable (optional) moment of drinking from a glacier melt stream. It was wonderful way to slow down and be in awe of nature movement. Next time, I’m going for the all day tour.

10/10 experience

Troy was an amazing tour guide, he was so informative and also funny! I had a blast, highly recommend

The hike was beautiful...

Todd_R, Sep 2025
The hike was beautiful and our guide (Mike) was very informative and enjoyable. The experience and scenery were both excellent and something you may only get to do once in your life. The information about the hike was not extremely thorough, with the hike being longer than we expected which was a pleasant surprise. Everyone was very accommodating and they had plenty of extra clothing in case you are not sure what to bring.

Amazing way to explore...

Amazing way to explore the glacier and see the magical formations in the ice. The hike was a little more strenuous than I thought. Well worth it! Remember dress in layers as the weather quickly changes throughout the adventure.

Exceptional Glacier Ice Walk tour - Jasper National Park

Laura_A, Aug 2025
The tour guide provided walking sticks which was necessary!! You might not think you need them but you will be glad you have them. Our guide Ana was knowledgeable and friendly. Keeping a good pace and answering all questions. It was a good hike to get to the glaciers. I expected just to walk on them for a short time, but we were hiking on the glacier for over an hour. Ana took us to so many interesting places on the ice. Waterfalls running through the glaciers. She took us to a place we refilled our bottles with clear glacier water. This tour far exceeded my expectation and will remain a highlight of our trip to the Canadian Rockies. Highly recommend the Glacier Ice Walk. Do not opt for the bus tour - we saw them up on the glacier and they only got out of the bus on the glacier for a few minutes - that group did not explore at all.

Highlight of our Banff trip!

Karthik_E, Aug 2025
This is hands down one of the best experiences of our Banff trip. Nick is an amazing guide who helped us with the necessary gear, kept us entertained with the history & facts about the glacier and his expert guidance. He adjusts the hike pace to make sure everyone in the group is comfortable. He ensured we were safe while having fun. 10/10 recommend this.

The best way to experience Athabasca Glacier

Devin_L, Aug 2025
This experience was amazing. Being able to actually walk on a glacier felt exhilarating. Tom was an amazing guide and made sure everyone was safe and felt comfortable. The weather was pretty erratic. It rained a good bit, but the experience was still awesome.

Great guided glacier hike

Todd_F, Aug 2025
Very cool experience hiking out on an actual glacier with our very engaging and informative guide, Rupert. He showed us the cool features of the glacier while always keeping the group on safe footing. He shared the history of the glacier and surroundings as well as providing great suggestions for hikes in the area following our guided hike.

Icefield glacier hike - Athabasca Glacier - Columbia Icefield

Steven_R, Jul 2025
Great hike up to the tongue of the glacier and hike on the glacier surface. Tamara was a great guide - knowledgeable and good humored

A great hike on the glacier with Tyler!

Michael_S, Jul 2025
Tyler was our guide and it doesn’t get any better than him. Extremely knowledgeable, witty and funny, and took care of his tour group. As for the glacier hike it’s an incredible experience we highly recommend if you truly want to experience the glacier. We did the morning hike and had perfect weather.

Family friendly Canadian Rockies experience must do

Lisa_J, Jul 2025
This was a great experience. Our guide, Nick, was very informative and enthusiastic. We went with our 10 and 11 year olds and they had an unique experience with being able to wear cramp-ons and stand on the glacier. Definitely worth it.

The 3 hour ice walk was great! Got to hike a ways up the glacier and see down in several deep crevices. Was pretty strenuous but we we're able to complete with our 8 year old son no problem. Kenton was our guide with Mike assisting. They did an awesome job!
