- Important Note regarding Maligne Canyon Waterfalls: Due to damage caused by last summer’s wildfire, access to Maligne Canyon is currently closed by Parks Canada for infrastructure repairs to ensure visitor safety. If these repairs are not completed prior to your selected tour date, the short walk to view waterfalls in Maligne Canyon will not be possible. In this case, the tour will proceed with a slightly altered itinerary, offering alternative stops to showcase the area’s unique beauty. This includes a visit to Maligne Lookout, where you can view the dramatically changed landscape from a high vantage point, and additional time at Medicine Lake, featuring a short walk along the shore for stunning perspectives of the lake surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Please rest assured that the tour length and price remain unchanged, and the overall experience will still provide incredible opportunities to explore and learn about the Maligne Valley’s natural wonders.
- To request complimentary pick-up from your accommodation, please specify which hotel you are staying at. Pickup times vary therefore your exact pick-up time will be confirmed upon booking.
- If you are staying outside of Jasper, please specify Jasper Downtown Location - at Two Brothers Totem Pole across from Parks Canada Information Center on Connaught Drive. Your meeting time will be 15 minutes prior to your trip’s departure time. All-day parking is located in the parking lot.

This was a memorable tour! Our driver/guide Owen was friendly and knowledgeable! He shared lot of information about the area and the lakes. On the way to Medicine lake we were lucky to spot a young grizzly bear up close busy eating berries. We also saw an Eagle's nest, spotted deer, mule dear, and on the way back we had a rare sighting of a bull elk. We took a boat cruise to spirit island. Our boat captain and guide were twin sisters, they were awesome! Jess the guide shared quite a bit of information about Maligne Lake and the area! Loved how all the guides parks Canada were environmentally conscious and protective of their national parks!

Highlight of our Canadian Rockies trip! Sam was an incredible tour guide with infinite knowledge of wildlife, forest fires and the Jasper terrain. And bonus points for our many wildlife sightings, including a pair of giant elks with record sized antlers!

Our guide Owen, was very knowledgable about not just the area and its history, but about the animal habitation, geology and geographical influences, which made the tour really interesting.
The area is stunningly beautiful and the lake Maglinge cruise, just fabulous.
The only downside for us was the lack of animal activity. It was very hot and due to this we saw very little. Not Owen’s fault in any way, poor man could not have been more apologetic if he tried but obviously on a wildlife tour, that’s what you’ve paid to see, so a tad disappointing from the aspect.
Overall, spectacular views, wonderful lake cruise and a great guide.

Excellent day trip. Even though it was rainy, the animals came out and we got to see a number of different wildlife. Our guide Owen was fun and informative. The lake Cruise was awesome. Highly recommend this tour!

It is a side trip worth doing!
The guide -Kelly -had a mountain of information about the area and every animal we saw! The boat trip was great. That guide also had tons of knowledge sbout the area!

Owen made the experience very enjoyable. He was factual in his information delivery but made it very entertaining at the same time. We had a fantastic sightseeing tour with our fun and lively tour guide, Bella. She knew just where to find lots of wildlife! We saw and photographed playful muskrats, big horn sheep, deer, elk, moose and a bald eagle. The cruise on Lake Maligne was epic! Cath gave us so much information and history about the gorgeous lake and Jethro was a wonderful captain! We highly recommend this tour!

Bella was a very knowledgeable and engaging tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. We can never know which animals decide to show up, but we were lucky to see columbian ground squirrels, long horn sheep, elk, moose, marmots, bald eagle (perched and in flight), white tail deer, mule deer and a brief sighting of a black bear. The boat trip on Lake Maligne was similarly enjoyable and informative.

Received email confirmation of time of pick up from hotel. Our guide and driver was called Jake and he was full of so much information about the area, the wildlife and really friendly. If wildlife were spotted he’d stop so as we could take photos. Once at the lake we had time to use the washrooms and a quick look round before boarding the boat along with another group from the same company with a captain & guide from Malaigne lake. Again the guide was so informative, telling us the history of the lake. We docked as spirit island and able to take some amazing photos of the lake and mountains. Cruise was approximately 90 minutes. Once back on the mini bus with Jake we headed back to Jasper and again received lots more commentary from him. Would definitely recommend.

The day was a great overview of the nature life and recent history of the park. The views that were offered and the animals we saw (moose, mountain goats) were amazing. Our tour guide tried hard to meet everyone’s expectations.

Great experience! Bella was SO informative and funny. We hit the wildlife jackpot and got to see so many animals. This is a great activity if you want to learn about the area and have a better chance of seeing the local wildlife. Highly recommend.

We were fortunate that we had beautiful weather for both the wildlife and lake tours. Owen was our guide for the wildlife tour, and he was engaging, fun, knowledgeable, and respectful of the animal world. For the Maligne Lake tour, we enjoyed the company of our host and guide, Asher, and the ship's captain, Sydney. Seeing the beautiful lake surrounded by glorious mountains was a fantastic experience. The experience was disappointing. If you have your own vehicle do this trip on your own. You are more likely to see more wildlife and not be rushed about. We were picked up on time, which is great. We stopped at Medicine lake first and it was beautiful. They we rushed to Maligne lake. We were told to hurry off the bus because the boat was leaving in 5 minutes. This was difficult as we had an elderly person with us and fortunately they did not have to use the restroom or we would have missed it. The boat tour is completely worth your time and you should do this, but book it on your own. Once we got off the boat it was our understanding that we would have time to eat lunch as a picnic or purchase at the cafe. This was not the case. We were rushed off the boat and was told we had 8 minutes before we had to be on the bus. This was a shame as there was a moose in the area and would have been great to see it. We then went back and spent time looking at a bald eagle on the side of the road. Again, I would have preferred not to have been rushed out of the Maligne Lake area. To top it all off the air conditioning was not working well on the bus and it was extremely hot and you could not open the window. Overall, if you have your own car, don’t waste your time and money. If you don’t then you could do this tour, but be mindful that you might be rushed.

Unfortunately didn't see any animals, probably, largely due to the terrible weather. But can't help that. Jake was a great host, good sense of humour and had great knowledge about the area. His information actually led to us seeing a moose the following day. We also had a good chat with Bella from the other tour bus, absolute legend and also tipped us into a nice restaurant in jasper. Overall the staff were 10/10 but I do feel that if it's a horrible day there should be some kind of compensation for the a participant of the tour if the weather is that bad. Maybe some kind of discount or voucher. Although it's outside of the tour company's control, I feel like it's a bit unfair.

This was the highlight of our trip to Jasper. The cruise on beautiful Lake Maligne, the wildlife sightings and our guide Sam’s knowledge of the ecosystem of Jasper and ability to spot wildlife made this tour an all around 10.

We enjoyed the wildlife cruise with spirit island boat cruise. The bus driver was Owen. I think it was only his 2nd trip and he was very knowledgeable and did a great job. The cruise boat captain was Sam and he did an excellent job.

This was a tremendous tour, our guide was Jake and he is extremely knowledgeable. We learnt so much about this brilliant area, one of the trip highlights. Also, the lake cruise with Carson and Bea (the Captain) was just as interesting. Well worth your time.

This tour was amazing, Sam our tour guide was excellent. We saw a grizzly bear, deers, marmot, bald eagle, moose and osprey. Sam was very knowledgeable and also told funny stories, he went above and beyond to give ua a great experience. Also included Maligne lake boat trip which gave great views of the mountains, great story telling from Michael and a smooth cruise by captain Sydney.
