What To Expect
Take an unforgettable ride on the Jasper SkyTram, the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in all of Canada. This sky-high trip, offering incredible views of six different mountain ranges, the town of Jasper, numerous lakes and the Athabasca River, is perfect for the whole family.
Arrive at the SkyTram any time during the attraction’s opening hours. Climb aboard your enclosed tram car for the ride to the top. An experienced and knowledgeable guide will accompany you on your trip, sharing a few insights about the area, its history and the wealth of wildlife nearby during your ride.
Over the course of your seven-minute ride, you’ll ascend to a height of 7,425 feet (2,263m) above sea level, enjoying superlative views of the surrounding mountain ranges as you climb. Soon you arrive at the alpine upper station, where you can take in panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Make sure to take a stroll on the boardwalk and the 1.4km Summit Trail to the top of Whistlers Mountain at 8,081 feet (2,463m) where you can view six mountain ranges. You might spot a ptarmigan, ground squirrels, hoary marmots (famous for their whistling alerts), pikas and sometimes even bighorn sheep along the way.
Before you leave the mountain, make sure to stop at the Summit Restaurant for a meal at the top of the Canadian Rockies. Visit the gift shops at the upper or lower stations, where you can purchase a souvenir for friends back home of your memorable trip.

- Parks Canada is conducting safety mitigation work on Whistlers Road in Jasper National Park. Single lane traffic and periodic stoppages may cause delays. Please allow extra travel time and check Alberta 511 for current road conditions.
- Children under 6 years are complimentary however they will still require a ticket to board, and must be accompanied by a paid adult on the tram ride. Please pick up their complimentary tickets at the base ticket booth.
- Wheelchair accessible, except the second floor of the upper station and the 1.4 km Whistlers Summit Trail
- Due to uneven surfaces, Whistlers Summit Trail is not recommended for individuals with walking disabilities
- Operates in all weather conditions. Carry water, sunscreen and dress in layers to stay warm. The upper station can be 12° C cooler than Jasper townsite
- Well-behaved dogs on a leash are welcome on the SkyTram when a ticket is purchased on-site
- Reserve your flight times, up and down, after you complete your booking by following the contact instructions on your ticket. Guests with unreserved flight times will be allocated space in the next available tram cabin upon arrival at the stations

- Perfect time to visit is in the morning or evening, which provides the best light for photography and there are typically fewer visitors during these hours

Great experience! Our trip was fully booked so it was literally standing room only! It was only an 8 minute ride to top. Our driver had loads of information on the zones we were traveling through, the animals we may see along the way and of course the mountains all around us. Once to the top we took in the unbelievable views! Then we made a stop to the Summit Cafe. Great food and lovely service!
The view from the tram is extraordinary. You can see so much in its panoramic view. It is a must activity in the Jasper area.
Jasper Skytram was fun. Unfortunately, ours was a cloudy day, so view was limited. But, it was still fun and I would definitely recommend it.
Great experience. Mornings not as crowded, but run the risk of cloud cover and low visibility. Nice addition to your beautiful Jasper experience.
It started as cloudy day which prevented the views, however within about 45 minutes some of the clouds lifted and revealed some amazing views. We enjoyed coffee and a treat in the restaurant hoping the clouds would move on, and most did. A little cramped in the sky car. Staff super friendly and informative.
Be prepared for inclement weather to delay operation. Our 90-minute estimated excursion ended up being 4 hours. Safety for all is a priority and we appreciated it, but just know ahead of time if you have other planned excursions. The operators were all very nice and knowledgeable. Great views when the weather allows.
The weather had a lot to do about our adventure. Delayed us going up and coming down. We had lunch up in the restaurant and it was very good.
The event was canceled when we were on our way to Jasper, and the birthday gift was ruined. No refund and no response from the provider.
On the day, everything was fine and enjoyable. However, trying to contact to event provider before hand was impossible, including Viator, they wouldn’t talk to me about the event details and gave me a number that didn’t work and sending the event coordinator a message in Viator app was never replied to . Disappointing.
Very relaxed check in and friendly, knowledgeable staff members! It was an incredible experience going up the mountain in the skytram and then had plenty of time to hike the summit afterwards. 10/10
Good service, friendly guides who shared interesting information. The hike to the summit was great. It gets cold at the summit, layer up!
The day we were there it was windy so we were actually stuck on top of the hill for about an hour and a half to two hours. Would have been nice if that was explained that sometimes you can spend the night there when we book the excursion. Needs to be a Crystal clear day did not take this tour. You cannot see a thing.
Fun trip up the mountain! Awesome views of Jasper. We had the Three course meal at the top. Waitress was very nice.
Overall the experience was enjoyable! A downside would be the trees due to the wildfire, so the view was not the greatest. Other than that, the workers and general activities given were great!
Amazing food with a great view. The drivers of the trams are extremely knowledgeable on the area and can answer pretty much any question you have
The tram was a smooth ride about 7 mins long with beautiful views. We hiked to the summit of whistlers and the views were beautiful! Highly recommend it.
While this is probably a gotta do it's kind of pricy for those who aren't going to hike the trails. As 70 year olds we're not doing that. We just went up to see the view and perhaps do lunch. The recent wildfires renders the view mostly meaningless and the restaurant is on a 2nd level only accessible by stairs. We went up and back in 40 minutes. Sadly reservations are are required in advance and non-refundable so you can't evaluate whether this will have value for you.

The dining experience was very disappointing, we were seated in a very poor spot in the restaurant because we were 5 and there is no table set up in the main dining area with good view for more than 4, staff was unfriendly and not helpful.when time came to order from the 3 courses dinner, they said my 13 years old son has to order from the kids menu, although I wasn’t warned or given an option while I was booking, they said we can’t upgrade his meal to adult and pay difference. After arguing and bringing manager, they said we can give adult meal with extra charge of $33 but when the bill came, it turned to be $38 . This experience ruined the whole evening. I don’t recommend this package for anyone.
Me and my partner had a good experience riding the sky tram. But was disappointed to see the burnt trees along the ride. Hope the nature will cure itself in couple of years.

It was awesome riding up the sky tram!! Once there we climbed up to the summit of Whistlers mountain! Wow!! Beautiful views nice up there but it is a definite incline!!
Efficiently run, beautiful to see Jasper from the mountains!! An option to walk to the summit, which we did not do, however many did! Given an hour and a half, so plenty of time to hike or enjoy something in the cafe!
Great ride to the top of Whistler Mountain. Beautiful views of the city of Jasper and the mountains and lakes in the area. Also a great opportunity to hike to the top of Whistler Mountain and see even better views.

It was a very good adventure, unfortunately very cloudy and we realize there’s nothing you can do about the weather! We enjoyed our day
The ride was interesting, but they cram up to 24 people into 2 trams that take you up and down the mountain. If it is windy, your tour time will be delayed. If you're like us, you might get stuck up the mountain over 2 hours. We could have hiked the hour down, but my 70-year old dad could not. They said only once in the last 10 years has any one been stuck overnight, but I didn't realize that was even a possibility until we were bored and started talking to staff. Everyone was lovely, and the information was interesting. Just be aware you should not book another reservation after this for the same day in case wind delays you.
Views were fantastic. Tram was too crowded. You couldn’t move or see out each side of the tram would have been nicer with fewer people
