Good points to the trip It was rather cloudy and raining heavily when we left the harbour however once we had finished lunch the weather was absolutely gorgeous for the rest of the day. The photos I took throughout the day are stunning! The 400 steps are worth the climb to take amazing photos of the bay. I would recommend that you take a bottle of water and some tissues to freshen up your face. The climb up is around 13:45 when the sun is extremely hot. The beach swim after felt so good afterwards! We were given just under an hour on the beach so I took half my time going up and down the steps and the other half in the sea. The lunch is plentiful with a variety of dishes. I ate as much as I could possibly manage but there was loads left over. You are given a snack around 4:30pm which consists of fruit, savoury biscuits and chips. Not a combination I’d usually eat together but it was great to pick a few nibbles to eat. I cannot praise the staff on the boat enough. They worked tirelessly preparing our food and offering us drinks and ice creams. They do have trays of jewellery if you are interested in buying it. Be sure to be on the top deck of the boat on the way back to take photos of the stunning sunset. Kayaking was fun but slightly tiring if you’re not used to it. Luckily I was with my boyfriend who did most of the work. The cave is stunning and looks like it’s on another planet. I took some great photos there. Not so good points to the trip. The Pearl Farm stop- A 30 minute stop before going to the boat. Positive point was there’s a cafe where you can buy refreshments if you’re not particularly interested in pearls or how they are farmed. Yes there is litter in the sea however the irony is it’s probably from tourists visiting! There are small patches of it in the sea which is a shame as it’s so beautiful there. It is an extremely long day! From door to door it was 12 and a half hours for us. I would recommend wearing your swimming things before you leave rather than changing on the boat. There are two toilets with thirty people on the boat so it can get busy. All in all a brilliant day out with lots of activities to do. I would definitely recommend this trip.

Well planned out day trip from Hanoi. Even though it was a 2 and 1/2 hour drive each way, we felt that we had the time to see how beautiful the bay was, enjoy a wonderful lunch and visit the best sights and learn the history and ecology from our well informed and friendly guide. Well worth the trip and cost

Short yet fun trip to Ha Long Bay. Enjoyed the options to get off the cruise and hike (albeit hiking routes are packed with fellow travelers), kayaking, etc. Good food and drink accommodations. Caught the sunset on the way back - orange tranquility. Perhaps sunrise would be equally gorgeous. Our guide is great, funny, responsible and accommodating. Will recommend.

This tour was very well organized. Plenty of food for lunch. You can get great photos from the boat. The times for the stops are reasonable. We did not feel too rushed. The bus did feel cramped for a long ride, but it was worth it.

Kayak and sunset. We suggest to give clients the option to join the group at the last pick up point because we happened to be the first to be collected and after one hour of hotel pick up we were at 200mt of distance and still tired of travelling.

Halong Bay, the cave, the beach, the lunch, the views and the sunset were amazing, but it was just too crowded. Could have been a better experience if the crowd was managed in order to allow space in between tour batches, as it was just easy to get lost in the sea of people, and could get a bit overwhelming at times.

Touristy - but worth it

While it's pretty much a "tourist trap", it is also a must-see while there. The, fortunately, clear day gave great views, pictures and memories. Each stop has ~7+ large ships taking tourists, so each stop is quite filled with tourists/crowds. They do have each stop timed so there isn't much time to lollygag and while they do stagger each ship's arrival, the overlap keeps the paths stacked with people. This was most apparent when stopping at the island for beach time / hiking to the top for a great view of Ha Long Bay (HIGHLY recommend that over the beach). The stairs were busy going up, but absolutely packed going down as the next ship's passengers were coming up. Made for a very slow decent. Later you can opt for a speed boat ride (best $10 USD you'll ever spend) or kayaking/bamboo boats. There are sooo many kayaks/boats, you are quite literally bumping into each other. And even with taking the speed boat, you can get(less) time on the kayak/bamboo boats than those who don't take the speed boat ride....which still gets you in/out of where everyone else goes just with a quicker turnaround time. The Viator/Dragon King team did a great job moving along, keeping well fed, on time, together, informed, etc. Well worth the value. In polling the group of 6 strangers in the speed boat most didn't feel spending an overnight in Ha Long Bay was all that much better. Though, since you still go to the same spots as the single day folks, you have a more leisurely pace to go through them. If you have the time, you may enjoy sleeping among the rocks and swims, etc. However, if on a tighter schedule, the day trip won't leave you missing out on much.

Hanoi to Ha Long Bay Day trip

This was the perfect trip, we were not necessarily in a hurry but didn’t want an overnight cruise on Ha Long Bay. We got all we wanted from this trip. A great lunch on board(the food just kept on coming). A long day but we’ll worth it. Beware: our accommodations was outside the old town and although our booking included pickup/drop off we got a text the day before saying they couldn’t pick up/drop off from our location. Not a problem as taxis are cheap and we are confident travellers … but this did figure in our decision making/choice of company.

From the get go it was a great trip. The luxury bus was very comfortable and spacious. Linh, our amazing guide was very friendly and knowledgeable and kept us entertained with history and stories of Vietnam while providing interesting little anecdotes about the land, the people and the sights. The boat was great, staff was very friendly and the food good and plentiful. Ha Long Bay was of course beautiful and the Amazing/Surprising cave breathtaking. All in all a great day trip from Hanoi and definitely recommended.

友だちと4人で参加。チケット/バウチャーなど仕組みがわからなかったため問い合わせてみたところ、日が来たら連絡するとのこと。2日前に確認のメッセージが来ました。直前にもメールと電話が来ました。ツアーは楽しい、安心、安い。とてもおすすめです。全部英語ですが、意思疎通はできました。同じツアー参加者の外国人とも仲良くなれました。1つ言うとしたら、ハロン湾の水があんまり綺麗じゃなかったことですかね。少々驚きでした。しかし大小さまざまな奇石や鍾乳洞は迫力があり、見に行く価値はあると思いました！

活動の中身は、(1)クルージング、(2)昼食、(3)ハイキング（約20分）✕2、(4)小船（9人乗り）、(5)小パーティー。(1)の間に(2)から(5)が入っている形です。ホテルから現地までのバスツアーがついて、朝8時過ぎから夜8時過ぎまでの行程でした。一般人には、質・量とも十分過な内容で、コスパはとても高いと思います。小船の代わりにカヤックを選択する場合は、濡れてもよい服装を（別途）準備してください。会話は英語ですが、ガイドの方が親切・活動的な方で、とても楽しめました。この場を借りてお礼申し上げます。
